As can be gathered from the title, I love literature and poetry very much. I read mainly classic literature and poetry, as this is what interests me most. My favourite authors are Hermann Hesse, Fyodor Dostoevsky and E.T.A. Hoffmann. Every now and then, I do read non-fiction (mostly philosophy, I like the Stoics, Nietzsche, writings by John O’Donohue), but mostly I like indulging in other realms than my own. Every now and then, I do write my own poetry and texts, but more often than not, I enjoy the great authors’ works.

Another passion of mine is music. While I mostly listen to classical music, I’d consider my music taste to be very diverse. It’s easier for me to share music genres I dislike than ones I like: I dislike K-Pop, modern charts pop (not because I’m so “different” - I sometimes listen to very mainstream classical and older music and enjoy it very much, but because I find the harmonies and lyrics to be boring in most modern pop music) and overtly romantic music. I could however without an issue even enjoy certain songs from these genres. I also play instruments myself, here, my love for classical music is even more obvious.

Another interest of mine are curiosities. I own lots of old illustrations from botanical and zoological books, and I own some conserved insects. Whenever I find a curiosity shop, I will spend hours and hours in there.

I love fashion as well, I go thrifting frequently and I also like making my own clothes. I consider my style to be rather dark and elegant, yet I love lighter colours as well.

I am a huge nature-lover and I go on walks several times a day. I find this gives me so much for my personal well-being. Running, swimming and surfing are the sports I mostly do. Some of my smaller interests are cooking, true crime and gardening.

As you can see, there are many things that interest me and I pretty much am interested in everything. Gaming however is not one of those things, but maybe we can talk about chess instead! Talking about the meaning of life, about philosophy and psychology, religion and spirituality, recent developments, literature and poetry, music, our problems and joys, our dreams, our controversial opinions, and doing so in a rather poetic way would be a great thing for me!

I will now however stop writing this, as there must be some things I can tell you once we start a private conversation. I already have email penpals and this is my favourite way of penpalling!
