So I need a box sleeve protector for my rumble pak box does anybody know a website where I can purchase one. Besides boxprotectors.nl shipping is 118$ to ship to America
N64 lag is about .25 seconds and quite noticeable, i also noticed the TV remote is very laggy too.. Can anyone recommend a better TV?
edit: i just tested the same equipment on a much older, much cheaper TV and there's no lag
Breathing new life into worn out units.
Bought some blank cases and printed out some covers for my games. Loving the look of them
That final Mizar fight was a pain lmao
So I've recently been playing through Donkey Kong 64 for the first time and have arrived at the infamous fourth level, Gloomy Galleon.
I have collected everything in the stage but one of Chunky's golden bananas and 25 of his colored bananas. I have deduced that all of these are located within the ship that can be spawned by activating the lighthouse with Donkey Kong.
I activated the lighthouse and saw the ship appear but I decided to explore it another day. Here is where the problem lies, when I went to the area around the lighthouse, it was not there anymore. The lighthouse was still active. I tried loading different zones, restarting the game, but nothing seemed to get the ship to appear.
So I ask if any of you have heard or experienced this issue before, and if it's somehow fixable. It would be really unfortunate if I got locked out of 100% the game because of this.
If I get a rumble pack, does that also act as a save card?
So whenever i plug it in it says no controller when it is clearly plugged. I dont know what to do and was hoping someone here would know what to do.
I’m looking for a copy of DK 64 to go with the N64 I just inherited. If I’m looking on EBay, how do I know if it’s a legit game or a knockoff copy? What should I look for?
I finally got around to installing my Steel Bowl and while it works better in a lot of ways and feels pretty good when playing, I find it’s still kinda loose. There is a decent amount of play in all directions to where it even flops up and down a little when shaking the controller. I expected it to be firm in the middle. Maybe I need to replace the gears as well? I thought the OEM gears looked alright.
I recently picked up an Everdrive for the n64 and am experiencing saving issues with my disk drive games, mainly F Zero X. I go into more detail about it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Fzero/comments/1cv0vxu/f_zero_x_expansion_kit_not_saving_on_everdrive/
Does anybody know a fix for this? Has anyone else even run into this before?
EDIT: Solved. See my edit on the linked post!
I'm in Ireland right now and the cheapest N64 I can find is about 110 euro including a controller and memory pack. Is there any other recommendations for where I can buy a used N64?
So I used my Gameshark to unlock all the cheats, I wanted to have one of the files have the complete cheat menu, then I can use the others to play the game legit.
The problem is the cheats don't save once I turn the game off. It's been a lot of years, but I feel like me and my brother did this as kids and the cheat menu was always there afterwards without the constant need of the Gameshark (as we'd only use the GS at that point to activate "Walk through walls"). Same with unlocking all the levels and 007 Difficulty, those don't save either.
Am I doing something wrong, or am I misremembering and this is how it always was?
EDIT: Nevermind, figured it out. The cheats that were pre-loaded on the Gameshark don't save for some reason, so I had to input specific new ones that can save (found on CodeTwink). Bit of a process, but it worked out.
Hello everyone! I'm sure this question has probably been asked here already but does anyone think the N64 Disc Drive games could come to Nintendo Switch Online one day?
Booted this one up for the first time in years. Been having a blast and decided to commit to getting 100% on every belt. Man. I didn't realize how tedious it was gonna be.
I've only started light heavyweight (the shortest storyline) and am getting burnt out 😮💨
Wondered if anyone has done it. I mean I know somebody has but am more interested in hearing stories of people's attempts and what they did to make it more fun / easier.
I'm wanting to know if there are any compatibility issues with games on the x5 for n64 and if there is are there any patches for the games to fix it?
8bitoDo mod kit works like a charm. The nastolgia is hitting hard
What do you guys think?
Years ago, my dumbass left my n64 on for a week or so. Thankfully the console still works fine, but my mario 64 cartridge refuses to work. I finally want to do something about it. Is there a fix for this, like some diode I need to replace or what?
Hey there, hoping to get some guidance on which route to go down. I did read the Wiki here and the hookup guide but just a bit unclear on what to exactly expect (it's been 20 yrs since I've picked up a n64). Putting together a small gaming nook with the primary purpose of my wife and I being able to play a quick game of smash/mk/etc. As I understand it, specific CRT models like sony trinitron kv series, JVC d-series av, and Panasonic Tau ct are what to look for if going that route, but can be a gamble when looking for cheap/free giveaways on FB Marketplace/Craigslist. Don't want to just end up with someone else's junk that I'd haven't the first idea how to fix if there were immediate issues. Alternatively, RetroTINK seems more "safe" and "future-proof" and to provide a similar gaming experience, but nothing will match a CRT? Hoping to understand how big a difference this is and if for our purposes it would impact the gameplay enough with things like input lag, color issues, etc that it wouldn't capture that nostalgic fun. (She's a Samus pro so I don't want the excuses to start coming out.)
If the RetroTINK is viable enough to deliver a quality gaming experience, what would you recommend in terms of the specific RetroTINK (2x-pro, 5x-pro, or 4k?) + what type of TV? It's a small space and it doesn't need to be a full fledged smart TV. Nothing more than 30inches. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated, thanks!
Just recently got back into playing N64. Here’s my collection so far. Picked up the Super Mario 64 and Majora’s Mask last weekend. The rest are my originals. What should I look for next?
I’ve got a copy of Pokémon Cock Version. If I use a transfer pack and try to play that in Pokémon Stadium, will it work?
I was listening to Aquatic Ambience and Stickerbrush Symphony from Donkey Kong Country, and was wondering why Rare's music seemed to transition from the SNES to the N64. The music in Banjo Kazooie, Diddy Kong Racing, DK64, and Banjo Tooie all are goofier and more childish vs. the somber mood of some of the tracks from Donkey Kong Country.
Is this because it went from David Wise to Grant Kirkhope's musical direction?
