Including the postseason, Jared Verse had 89 total pressures this season. That's the most of any player in the NFL, per Pro Football Focus.
Among interior defenders, Kobie Turner ranked 4th (62 pressures) and Braden Fiske was 8th (59 pressures).
My uncle shared this with me. Who was the PR person that thought this would fly ? 😆
Hey yall, I have completed my tasks at work for the month so for the rest of today and tomorrow is just me going down internet rabbit holes and NFL offseason stuff. I see mock drafts and stuff all over the place so I decided to do a little mock draft and offseason of my own. I honestly don't have to motivation to really dive into numbers for free agents, restructures, and trades. I dont have the salary cap knowledge for that. But any who.
Resigns and Restructures:
Restructure:
I am not sure what the numbers would look like for Stafford but he wants to come back. I really dont see him playing out the rest of his career anywhere else. As for the resigns, I feel like keeping the offensive line in tact is key. Stafford was one of the least sacked QBs in the league this year when our starting 5 were healthy and rolling. I think Alaric Jackson is top priority for resigning. Demarcus Robinson has been a very good #3/#4 and Michael Hoecht is just awesome. Bobby Brown doesnt flash but he does take up blocks and does the dirty work in the trenches. Everyone else can walk.
TRADE:
Rams send Cooper Kupp to the Miami Dolphins for a 2025 4th round pick, #135
Look... I dont want Cooper to leave. I love Kupp and want him to retire a Ram. But the writing is on the walls that he is most likely gone. I was looking at possible destinations and I couldn't really find a GREAT GREAT FIT but Miami is in need of receivers especially with Tyreek being Tyreek. I know we want more for a trade for Kupp but given our trade history, we most likely wont get more than a 4th :(. Good bye sweet prince
Now onto Free Agents
Rams sign
LB- Nick Bolton
WR- Stefon Diggs
Edge- Joe Tryon
S- Nick Scott
CB- Ahkello Witherspoon
DT- Neville Gallimore
We bringing back Nick Scott in the same sense that we brought back Darius Williams. Nick struggled in Cinncinati but we didnt bring him back to be a starter, rather a special teams guy. But the big surprise signing is Nick Bolton. Now I do believe he'll probably resign with KC but if he doesnt I think he would be a massive upgrade from what we have with Rozeboom. Throw him next to Speights and I love that LB core. Now Ill probably get hate for the Diggs signing but he is coming off a torn ACL and hes older. He can't expect much in terms of contract. There have been so many articles in the past that have tied him to LA. He'll be a true #2 in LA. But having Wittington, Puka, rookie WR, and Demarcus on the roster. We'll be fine until Diggs gets fully healthy. Ahkello or Neville didnt appear in the resign list so we bring them back here..
RAMS DRAFT
Rams trade #26 and a future pick to NY Jets for Pick #42 & #109
#42 WR- Isaiah Bond
This draft lacks many true blue chip players. The Rams trade out of the 1st round back into the early 2nd and pick up an early 4th. They then use #42 on the speedster Isaiah Bond. McVay has really lack a true speedsters since Watkins and B-Cooks. Tutu was suppose to be that guy but he was just too small. They are able to get a big playmaker in Bond
#90 QB- Will Howard
I can see the hate on this pick. The Rams need a QB of the future and I love what Will Howard showed in the CFPs. I think the ceiling is higher with him than Stetson and would love to see how he would grow behind Staff Daddy
#100 OT- Trey Wedig
Just like the Rams loaded up on defense in 2024, they load on offense in 2025. With bringing back A-Jackson and with Rob H on his final year of his contract, they bring in Trey Wedig to develop who will eventually fill the void when Rob H retires
#109 TE- Elijah Arroyo
I dont think he'll be available at this spot to be honest, but if he falls to the Rams at this spot you have to take the massive play making tight end. Hunter Long didnt get resigned, Colby P was a disappointment, and big Rig has seen his share of injuries as of late. I love EA at this spot
#126 CB- Quincy Riley
A lengthy CB who is filthy in man coverage. Tre Tomlinson has not developed and with bringing back Witherspoon, Quincy will be buried in the depth chart but will eventually emerge as a potential starter
#135 DT - Ty Robinson
Im a Nebraska fan and this dude was everywhere. Would be a big depth peice
The other 2 picks are just depth / ST teams guys
Final Depth Chart Looking something like this?
How'd I do??
Fucking garbage wasnt it lol
lol
Rams auction had commemorative tickets and a chance to get a autographed memorabilia for 40$. Got my favorite player autographed jersey! Let's go AD99!
Cooper Kupp is owed nearly $30 Mil next season and is coming off another season where he missed time due to injury. He still had productive games and made a couple big plays when it mattered, but his involvement in the offense has been massively scaled back from his peak in ‘21. I love Cooper and always will, but his production is way down and unless McVay has a good reason why that is and can fix it for next season, I don’t see how he is worth his contract. Cutting him would save us around $7.5 million against the cap this season, which might not seem like much but could equal a decent depth piece. Looking at past trades that the Rams have made to move big contracts, I would assume we would not get much back for him in a trade deal. If it meant another team would take on more of his salary, I think a trade for a lower draft pick would be the best option for the team next season. Any team trying to develop a young QB (Pats, Falcons, Broncos, ect.) would be a great fit for him, and there are a few teams with a ton of cap space available for next year that also fit that bill. Freeing up that cap space would put us in a position to be aggressive with free agents, and adding a star on either side of the ball could be the push we need to get over the top again with Stafford looking like he wants to run it back one more year. Also, I feel like our Cooper Kupp replacement is already in house with Jordan Whittington. Fast, physical, good hands, not even close to the same route runner, but I do think he could step in to that slot role and bully smaller corners. It sucks to talk about, but the NFL has always been a business.
Edit: My takeaways from this is that us as fans are divided over this scenario. I think all Rams fans should love Coop and I think we all know what he means to the Rams as a franchise. Super Bowl MVP, Triple Crown winner, climbing up franchise record books and probably an even better teammate on top of all of that. I don’t see any FA WRs that would be upgrades at a significantly cheaper cost than Kupp this year, and if Stafford does retire after next season, we are going to need a mini rebuild no matter what. In McSnead we trust, but I think I am convinced that we should bring him back and make the most out of the draft and free agency with what we have to work with. We are a long way away from Rams football, but I hope we roll with Stafford, Kupp and Puka when we take the field Week 1 next year. Go Rams!
I’d like to trade out of the first and load up on a second round for this year and maybe a 4th this year or next. That being said I think Harold Fannin Jr would be a good idea granted I’d wanna see how senior bowl and combine/pro day go. No players specifically I want at the other position of need but definitely would like to see a tackle and corner drafted and address lb in free agency.
Just saw a video talking about him being a big faller in the draft since most NFL teams prefer faster backs nowadays. Especially with some of the competition at the position this year I think it’s entirely possible he could fall to day two/ early day three in with case why not take him? I want the infinity gauntlet of “short, Slow running backs” not to mention I think the run game could do with a full back type role that Benny Skow had that one year. You can never have too many backs and if he does indeed fall I don’t see the harm using a day three pick. I think he’ll be a star no matter where he goes but I think he’d be an instant phenom with us. You can’t teach that kind of heart.
By inches!
Garoppolo... Under pressure... Donald got there. In the air, Intercepted by the Rams. And they may ride to the Super Bowl on that.
What Deal Yall Think we will give Stafford ? I think a 2 year 60+ million or something along those lines
I think the rams are looking good for next year. Resign Jackson Brown DRob Havenstien Jimmy G and Hoecht and our depth before FA and draft is as follows. •Stafford, Jimmy G, Bennett •Kyren, Corum, Schrader, Freeman •Kupp, Puka, Drob, Whittington, Cephus, Stoops •Higbee, Parkinston, Allen •Aj, Havenstien, McClendon, Acuri •Dotson, Jackson, Avila, Limmer, Levenston, Dedich •Fiske, Johnson, Turner, Oligiga •Brown, Davis, Strong •Verse, Young, Jackson, Hampton, Thomas, Weaver •Speights, Fields II, Neal •Williams, Durant, Kendrick, Forbes, Tomlinson, Wallace, Jolly, Lampkin, Woods, Green •Curl, Lake, Kinchens, McCollough •Karty, Evans, Ward That’s 58 players before FA and the Draft.
An FA wishlist would be Greenlaw/Baun/Baker/ADG and Hardman/Agholor an an unlikely but hopeful signing would be Kamara if the saints new F.O releases him.
Draft wise I hope the rams Target OT or QB first I don't know how it will fall but I believe a 5th round on a QB this year would be beneficial to get him in the building earlier to work with our offense and Stafford and allowing us a rookie contract to resign Young Verse Fiske and Turner and still having a year or 2 of a qb on a rookie contact. I think other draft order would be OT/QB ILB WR Saftey TE
I'm going to be honest, if you're still making those rams fanbase jokes you're just dry and obnoxious. Those jokes are not funny anymore and the rams fanbase is still growing. Heck, we even had alot of people at our game vs vikings in Arizona and we still had alot vs the cardinals at Sofi Stadium. The only reason why people say those jokes is because niners fans used to outnumber us at our home games but most niners fans are just bandwagons and some grew up being niners fans due to the rams being gone for so long. The rams fanbase is still growing and it's growing fast! That joke is old and won't even be a little bit funny in a couple of years.
Also sorry for the long post I just had to let it out after all these obnoxious nfcwestmemewar redditors lol. RAMS HOUSE! 🐏💙💛
