Tim Anderson problem

Obviously it’s not a guarantee he makes the team. But he’s looking like an Antonio Brown situation that the Angels will have a tough time handling. He was on Foul Territory recently and the interview looked rough.

How to watch in California without cable subscription?

Basically what title says. I paid for mlb.tv last season and it ended up being audio only. Is there a way for me to watch without the geographical blackouts in CA? I don’t like the random streaming sites because 1, they’re illegal and 2, if you miss it live you miss it altogether. What’s the solution? There has to be a solution that’s cheaper than $80+/month.

Thoughts on Kochanowicz

Jack Kochanowicz

Age: 24 Pitch mix: Sinker(72%), Curve(18%), 4SFB(6%), and Changeup (3%) He has used his sinker far more than any other SP uses 1 specific pitch and while his sinker is good at 95-97mph when hitters see the same pitch multiple times they are less likely to miss it each time they see it. His 4SFB sits 96-99mph so the dude can throw hard. I wonder would he have more success using his 4SFB more and incorporating his sinker around that? Maybe with men on to induce double plays or just get weak ground balls. At times his curve ball also looks like a sweeper it has more horizontal break than vertical and is 85mph (5 above average). I think this pitch could generate more missed bats which is Kochanowicz’s main issue. I’m not sure if the Angels have the pitching development for this but if we could have him maybe develop a sweeper and have a curve with more vertical drop separate from that then that would be 2 pretty fast pitches with movement to help him miss bats more often. In conclusion I’d like to see Kochanowicz throw that 96-99 4SFB more and add in a sweeper/perfected curve for a strikeout pitch. And use his Sinker less so it can be more effective… Something like a Sinker (40%) 4SFB (30%) and a sweeper/curve 25% would diversify his arsenal and save a 5% for a changeup to keep batters off balance. He has a lot of potential being 6’7” and only 24… he has great “stuff” and high velo he just needs some good development.

How good will Caden Dana be?

I’d like to hear your opinions on him. And if he has a good spring should he start right away?

anyone know how to get a media pass for the angels?

it’s a far fetched question, but i’ve been trying to figure out how to get even a temporary pass, but there’s no information anywhere.

Question about ticket prices

My family and I are coming in from out of town to watch the away team. None of us have been to your stadium before but I was wondering if the ticket prices drop for a summer giveaway game or if our best bet is to buy now?

There are 7 of us which makes me worried about trying to wait but the price of the tickets now is pretty expensive compared to what we are used to!

Any help, tips and suggestions are much appreciated!

Edit: Thank you all for help and suggestions!

Subreddit Updates

Hello all,

Thank you for everyone who has reached out regarding improvements needed for the subreddit. There are a few updates that have been made to the settings and rules that have been suggested, and are being implemented.

Video Posts

Video posts have been enabled, so it is now possible to upload and share videos directly to the subreddit, avoiding having to link to a 3rd party video host.

YouTube Links

YouTube links are no longer blocked. Feel free to share videos from your favorite YouTube creators discussing Angels baseball! Please note that Self Promotion is still against the rules, so please report any Self Promoters that are spamming their content.

New Subreddit Rule

A new rule has been added: No Editorializing News Posts.

Posts for News Articles, Bluesky Posts, Twitter Screenshots, etc. should include the original title/content.

Avoid editorializing, vague titles or "What do you think"-type titles.

If the original content/post is too long or contains a URL, it can be shortened if it does not substantially change the original content.

Sources should be placed at the start of the title in brackets such as [Bob Boblaw] but are not required for news articles.

A new warning message will appear when creating a post informing users:

https://preview.redd.it/uhbdbgow0xee1.png?width=1278&format=png&auto=webp&s=9dbec031183aa8ca6965809c69af9bbba870acbe

This rule will be lightly enforced, and education will be focused on up until Opening Day, when the rule will come into full enforcement.

Flairs Updates

Post flairs have been updated to include new options for submitting.

We will be updating user flairs to add newer and current flairs over the next few weeks. Please note that this may remove some user flairs, especially some of the classic Old Reddit flairs.

Thank you!

Update on Twitter/X Links

After review, Twitter and X links are being banned from the subreddit. The rules page is being updated to include this.

Bluesky or major baseball/sport news publications will be preferred.

Screenshots of Tweets will still be allowed.

Instagram and Threads are allowed.

We understand the dissatisfaction by some users who disagree with this decision.

There will be friction for breaking news posters being prevented from quickly grabbing a Tweet and posting a link. An Angels Bluesky Starter Pack has been set up that includes many of the same baseball news sources so that it can quickly be shared to Reddit https://go.bsky.app/Cthc3pQ.

There is also one that includes the baseball HOF writers https://go.bsky.app/SxjyF22.

This is just the beginning of improvement in subreddit post quality. One of the initiatives that we used to have in the subreddit was gifs, which became clips and highlights from games being posted much more frequently than they are now.

Here's to a great 2025 season, we hope to see everyone there!
