The show premiered on UPN back in April 26, 1999. It was cancelled after 5 episodes then brought back by Adult Swim in 2001 and ended in 2004.

I always wondered why I thought the dry humor of Dr Katz and S1 of Home Movies was so great, and I recently realized that the squiggles indicate time. On Simpsons or The Critic, when a character maintains a facial expression for a second or two as a visual gag, it is funny, but essentially it's a still image. When a character maintains a facial expression in squiggle vision over 2 seconds, it feels more like a real person sitting through that awkwardness over time. I love it!

Lynch & McGuirk Popcorn Incident
I was just watching Everyone's Entitled to My Opinion (Season 4 Episode 1) and right after Lynch says he's going to suspend McGuirk with pay he reaches into the popcorn bucket. Judging by the look on Lynch's face I'm guessing McGuirk did the ol' ding dong in the popcorn bucket trick. Now all I can think about is that post someone made not too long ago about them getting together and I can't help but feel that has more merit than I thought. With regards to McGuirk's character as a whole this seems like a really weird move but in the context of this episode alone I guess it does make sense with his escalating childish/douchy behavior. What do you folk that also love this series way to much think?
