The GameCube (Japanese: ゲームキューブ Hepburn: Gēmukyūbu?, officially called the Nintendo GameCube, abbreviated NGC in Japan and GCN in Europe and North America) is a home video game console released by Nintendo in Japan on September 14, 2001; in North America on November 18, 2001; in Europe on May 3, 2002; and in Australia on May 17, 2002. The sixth-generation console is the successor to the Nintendo 64 and competed with Sony Computer Entertainment's PlayStation 2 and Microsoft's Xbox.

Hopefully this is allowed here since it’s about the Panasonic Q GameCube, if not just lmk and I’ll post elsewhere!
So I bought a Panasonic Q from Japan and the disc tray rails basically completely shattered, likely during the shipping process or before — the seller said that it was in storage for a long time. On top of that, since it was left alone for years, the belt was super worn and conformed to the shape it was left in. I replaced the belt with a brand new one and 3D printed new rails and disk tray, which work well.
During the repair process, I noticed that like half the times I turned it on, any time I switched it to GameCube mode from DVD mode, it turned off and showed F76 error on screen. Once I took the console apart and replugged everything back in, the error goes away about half the time. I think it might be old ribbon cables, so I’m in the process of replacing those.
My main issue is that it won’t read GameCube discs; it spins the disc and I can hear and see the laser assembly moving and clicking against the plate, but it doesn’t progress past that. It either shows “?” on the GameCube menu, “no disc,” or will boot into the GameCube start sequence and then freeze at the logo and not load any further.
Does anybody have any advice on 1. what the F76 error could be caused from and how to prevent it from intermittently occurring, and 2. how to deal with this disc read problem? I have tried adjusting the petentiometer and have cleaned the laser lightly with IPA. The disc is known good and works with my GameCube. Will update after I replace the ribbon cables as well.
Don't think these games are rare/expensive really, but I never hear anyone talk about them
I was wondering how to make an extra option feature in a game like how it is on this Luigi’s Mansion mod and if it’s possible on any other gamecube game.
Hey y’all, viva la GameCube
Wondering if anyone has insight on all the GameCube mods that would be useful for playing melee? I wanna get a modded Gc but the Etsy I found offers all sorts of mods
I’ve read that the hdmi mod deals with the lag so I’d love to get that. Maybe someone can mention if it really is lag less for melee.
The pico mod seems cool? Can I load the dolphin version of melee to play with weird skins and stages?
Do I need fiber optic mod, xeno, sd2sp2, recap items?
Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? It’s appearing only when there is a disc in the drive and it doesn’t matter which game, Error goes away when there is no disc in the console.
Thankyou!!
Does anyone know where I can get a copy of eternal darkness sanitys requiem? I'm desperate to beat it, I played when I was a kid and I have been having memories pop up of it and I want to play it so I can beat it, maybe relive my childhood a bit....
Hey everyone,
It’s been a long time since I’ve used a GameCube controller, so I just bought an official one. I noticed that the L trigger makes a click when pressed all the way down.
Is this normal, or did I end up with a faulty controller??
I wonder if the animals are going to cross Abbey Road?
Buy 2 get 1 free at my local game shop on black friday. I've never played Luigi's Mansion or Twighlight Princess, but am very excited to play Sonic Adventure Battle 2 again!
I love seeing the N64 pushed to it's limits by people like Kaze Emanuar, Sauraen, James Lambert, Dorrieal...
They've found new techniques to make materials have some kind of specular look, faked normal maps with smart palette tricks, writen microcode that allows ambient occusion, toon shading, etc.
A lot of that is somehow recent, not many I don't think any major mood has relased with F3DEX3 microcode yet. Dorieal's oldest video is from 8 years ago, but I don't think he started making mods until 5 years ago or so and not at the level until recently. Kaze's mods weren't possible until SM64 Decomp and reveres eenginered code popped recently. Sauren didn't show toon shaded link until 2 years ago.
Seems like the scene for the Gamecube isn't as active pushing the console to new heights, this might change in a few years once the N64 is "maxed out", maybe time needs to go by until in a few more years we start to see a blooming scene?
(Not sure what's overpriced)
Trying to restore the front panel, suggestions are to use hydrogen peroxide and either sunlight or a blacklight to heat it up. High out here is 70 degrees right now. Is there a different way to heat up the solution without spending a bunch of money on blacklights? I've seen a straight up replacement for the front plate on eBay but I've been fooled before.
Not exactly as intuitive as the Wii. I see lots of cables claiming to work for N64, SNES and GameCube, some cheap some more expensive, but my impression was the GameCube was extra tricky.
I have a dol-101 with picoboot that I wanna use more but I have become a sort of snob about this video quality especially when comparing it to my ps2 on component.. I just want the best for my gc 😅 I know I can’t do component since it doesn’t have the port. Would my best option be S-video?
So, I'm putting together a Birthday/Christmas gift for my brother a Gamecube as I'm certain that the old one he had was lost. After looking into it, I figured I could do mod it for him as he was impressed with the work in soft modding my old phat PS2.
So, the method I'm doing is with the SP2SD2 Pro I've purchased with an imported JP Gamecube. I also have an Action Replay disc as I've seen as that to be one of the easier methods to do this, and a GC2SD memory card with a 1 GB micro SD I've purchased from Amazon, as I've read that I would need one that has around that space while it having just Micro SD, not the more up-to-date ones.
Is there a specific way i need to arrange in the 1 GB card to have swiss be seen? I ask this as every time I turn it on it just boots to the Action Replay menu. Or will I need something else?
I would really appreciate the assistance
I see people saying to set the reset boot to igr.dol. i don't have that option. All i have is reboot and apploader. I put the igr file on the card. So how do i set it up to reset back to my gamelist?
Hi, I have a Xeno GC (not Xen8) v2 installed to my GameCube. I've flashed this firmware to it. When I hold the START button to open the xeno.gci file in Slot A, the screen just goes black, the drive stops, and about a minute later the drive starts again. This was also the case before I re-flashed the firmware. The other functions of the chip seem to work fine (namely the region force) and the light goes solid orange when its supposed to. I did download Swiss, took the xeno.gci file from the download (not the boot.gci) and copied it to the memory card with GCMM. I'm not sure what I can do. Any ideas?
EDIT: Got it working! I tried again with the software flasher and everything is in order. If you do this too, just make sure you have the XenoAT.hex file on your SD card as well as the flasher. I had them both on the root of the SD, in Slot B.
Picked this up from a local game store for about $100 total!
Picked this up years ago for the collection, but this is OUTTA line for children’s game that is meh at best
