The globe's loudest band
A sub for one of the biggest hard rock bands of the 1970's, famous for songs like "Child In Time" and "Smoke On The Water." Formed in 1968, still rocking today.
Many people may have forgotten about the band, but we try to keep the spirit of this still-touring band alive! You can expect everything from this band on the sub. Music from every era of the band, awesome backstage live pictures, interviews and the 'craze' about all their new albums.
New releases can be found here and you can share your opinion about the many different musicians of the band, the various Marks and their albums, and all you can think of.
Deep Purple didn't stop after Blackmore!
This subreddit is meant for friendly discussion. Avoid insulting others and downvoting over disagreements.
Any type of post is welcome here, as long as its relevant to Deep Purple; songs, full albums, links to interesting forums or photo galleries, concert footage, news articles, discussions about anything related to the band.
Note that it must have a direct relation/purpose or it will be removed. Covers are an acceptable example. A cereal box with an advertisement to win Deep Purple tickets is not. For the superfans always posting here- spread out your posts as much as possible. If you need to make an appeal for a wrongly removed post or one caught by the spam filter, send a PM to a mod.
We welcome all strange kinds of women and hard lovin' men.

I know it’s an awful image. I’ve been thinking Yamaha, but I have no clue…
I have a probably stupid question regarding releases of the machine head vinyl; every version i find doesn’t have “When A Blind Man Cries” on the track list. Are there any versions that do have it that are easily findable/can buy lmao?
Anyone else like this? I heard this way back 44 yrs ago when it came out and it gets played several times a year.
This may be a long shot but I figured of all places on reddit, this would be the place to ask.
As the title says, I'm looking for a specific version of the song "Smoke on the Water", the same one of which I've linked here. Tldr the main difference that sets this version apart from the OG is the solo at the end instead of the music fading out.
I've gotten as far in my search as finding another YouTube video with the same version, which says that it was released on some CDs in the 90s, but no specifics.
If anyone here knows, or can at least help me narrow it down or point me in the direction I could go, I would be so grateful!
Kind of odd when you think about the Outlaws and Episode Six both having the same drummer at different points in time. I saw the Episode Six reunion, but they had Harvey Shield for that....
Their lyrics were not about sex on the previous 70s albums. I really love the song 'knocking on your back door' and 'mean streak' excepto for the lyrics
I cannot find anything in them
Got this yesterday and Made In Japan has NEVER sounded so good. Can't stop listening to it.
After the wonderful intro suddenly came to mind, encouraging me to start learning it on my beloved organ, I stumbled upon this masterpiece by DP cover band "Purple Rising".
Beautiful version, so nice to see and hear it performed live by these nice artists (didn't know them before). Would love to see a DP-version of it with orchestra, but I highly doubt we'll see that in future.
