Jazz, blues, rock, funk - heck even classical - the Hammond organ is just pure awesomeness.
This is a place to appreciate the awesome sound of the Hammond.
Feel free to post, as long as it's related to Hammond Organs.

I was on the internet and I saw a hammond organ called Model V 122K. I tried searching for it and even google picture searching it but no results. Looks like this: It's for sale on kupujemprodajem.com if anyone wants it.
I recently got a RT-2 Hammond Organ and was told to purchase Hammond Oil and Leslie Oil for the speaker cabinet and the tone generator, but I’m not sure where to buy this? I tried reaching out to Hammond-Suzuki through email two weeks ago, but haven’t received a reply. I found some on Amazon—just not sure if I can trust it (it does look legitimate, but I’m not expert). I also found this website called Tonewheel General Hospital, but it doesn’t specifically say Hammond oil. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Can somebody tell me more about this Leslie Connector Kit (037655)
I can not find much about it Online. It it build in my M-100.
Can I build it into my A-100 and hook my 147 up with it?
Thanks!
If anyone can give me any info on it that would be great, I am also trying to figure out how to work the rhythm circuit and what everything does. I don’t think it’s really worth much so I doubt I’ll sell it.
Any ideas on where to look? I have the service manual.
I have an SK1 I use as a 2nd keyboard as part of a Mainstage-based rig. For some songs, I use the Sk1 to trigger an external sound, and this works fine. But for other songs, I use presets/favorited sounds on the Hammond itself and send the audio out to FOH. On these songs, I have to manually select the songs.
Is there a way to have a mainstage send a MIDI program change message to automatically select the correct sound? For instance, if I want to jump from whatever sound was previously called up and switch to the voice that is saved as U015, what MSB/LSB/PC numbers would I use?
Manual was no help, and Hammond technical support ignored several messages. Maybe someone here knows?
I've never seen this before what do you call this this (I took this about a year ago) I used to a half-moon switch or an ETS 2 control head but not this (????)
Hello all!
I wanted to share with you a picture of the Hammond B3 that Booker T. Jones played on Saturday night at Ronnie Scott’s in Soho, London!
The event was sold out immediately so I stood outside Ronnie’s Scott’s for an hour in hope of a ticket. There was a no show so I was able to get in against all odds! I cannot describe how incredible and emotional the experience was!
I have always been a fan of Booker T. Jones however having found a Hammond 1976 Dolphin Series in a charity shop a few months ago combined with the many hours spent plonking away to his music…I can say that the chords hit differently!
Any how, here’s the picture…it is a beautiful piece of kit!
P.S. At one point he was playing the Hammond with his left arm and leg, the electric piano and pedal with his right arm and leg and singing all together! What a legend!
I am working to complete my organ setup, would the OBL-SL-2 lineout mod work on the line input of the 122XB?
i’ve tried what comments and videos have said but i haven’t gotten it to start

The great Dick Sims makes use of some kind of harmonics or square wave effect on the organs. I can't figure it out. How does he do it?
How much does the counter rotating-ness of the horn and the drum add to the sound? Is the different directions a big deal? Also If I make my own Leslie with just a high power 15 inch woofer into one rotating drum how close will I get to the real deal? Thanks!
Sometime I use an external midi keyboard controller - in this case a Nord Stage 4 73 key compact to control my XK-4.
When press the C1 key on the Nord, the XK4 emits a high pitched electronic squeak. This is at the exact key on the midi keyboard that has no corresponding key on the XK-4’s keyboard.
All other keys work fine, and this only happens when the key is played with another key. It dies not happen when I play on the XK4 keyboard directly.
Is this a defect or is it to be expected given the unique location of this particular key? I bought this used from Guitar Center and I can bring it back and get my money back if it’s a defect- if it’s a known issue, I can maybe try to work around it.
I’m also gonna try it with a different keyboard. I have a Kurzweil PC4-7 and see if it replicates the same issue - Does it have to do with the that low-key not existing on the Keyboard of the XK-4?
I inherited a Hammond A-500, at least that is what the brochure says. It looks like the T-500 but without the tape recorder. When I search for the A-500 online, nothing ever comes up. Does anyone know if that model had a different designation? I need to do some research as it has no output. I understand that it has a mechanical tone generator. It was purchased new in the early to mid-70s. Thanks
They say it is functioning well but with no speaker...how could i know? im not very tech savvy otherwise ive heard you can install your own audio out
I got an XK-4 recently and am loving it (first Hammond for me) and I'm looking to expand it. What keyboard and pedalboards are recommended for an XK-4? I'm more so asking for the keyboard, as I'm not seeing a dedicated lower manual made specifically for XK-4. I guess all I really want in a lower manual is to just be able to fit the XK-4 on top of it. For pedalboard, I figured that comes down to how much I'm willing to pay for one, but I'm still open for recommendations. Thank you.
got this organ from a friend was playing earlier today but not anymore
I bought a Crumar Mojo Classic, and I want to use some effect pedals on it. Can i still use the internal leslie sim, and than line out to the pedals? Also, most pedals are mono, is that a problem?
I wanted to post something about my first impressions of the Ferrofish B4000+ that i just purchased. Full disclosure, I'm primarily a guitarist, but I play keys on about a quarter of my band's songs. I use a Yamaha MX61 which I love for pianos and pad sounds, and for its simplicity and portability. But the organ sounds are truly uninspiring. So I bought the Ferrofish to give me some ballsy B3 sounds without adding a whole second keyboard.
I toyed with using a spare Macbook and Mainstage, but I really didn't want a big screen on top of my board. I wanted something lower profile to keep to keep my rig as small as possible. I would have loved to just buy a Nord and keep things really simple, but I just don't have a couple grand to toss around on my secondary instrument.
So I got the Ferrofish last night and spent about two hours playing around with it. It took me a little effort to just figure out what was going on, especially with the multiple registers and keyboard splits. This is something that I really don't need since I'm just using one voice at a time. So once I set the Pedal and Lower registers to a different Midi channel and just played on the Upper register, I was able to get going and really dive into the sounds.
And the thing about the sound is -- it sounds awesome! Of course its not a real B3 with a Leslie swirling the air in multiple directions -- nothing is going to sound like what a B3 and Leslie sound like in person. But it definitely emulates what a B3 sounds like on record. And it does it really well. I was able to nail every sound I tried. And being able to change the sounds in real time to vary your playing at multiple points within a song is really easy. The drawbars are the obvious one -- having drawbars at your disposal allow you to modify the sound easily.
I was a little worried about changing the other parameters, but I actually found the interface really easy to use and manipulate. Press a button to activate the row, and then twirl the button to change one of the five parameters in that row. I was used to doing it in minutes -- it was way faster to learn than most synths that I've used. It will take me a little time to memorize where the most-used parameters are.
My only pet peeve is that there is not a dedicated volume knob. There are pretty massive changes in volume between different settings -- that is part of the joy of playing a real Hammond, being able to control the dynamics. But in a band setting, you still need to be able to control overall volume in the context of a song. If you scroll through the 128 presets, you'll see that the volume between each can vary greatly.
My plan is to use a small line mixer for both the Ferrofish and the MX61, and to just use the volume of each channel to control both sources and balance the Ferrofish between loud and soft settings.
Overall, for $400 new and $250-300 used, I can't see how you can get a better B3 emulation in such a small package. This thing rocks. I couldn't be happier.
Doing my daily landscaping job I found an old Hammond organ on the side of the road. Model is The Sounder. Have had little to no luck finding any info on it. If anyone has any idea of what it's worth and any other info would be awesome to find out what it is. Have no intention of selling.
I know most comments here are going to be along the lines of telling me to trash the 130 and go out and buy a 122 or similar, but a friend grabbed me a curbed 130 a while back, so it's what I've got. To my surprise, the lower speaker works and sounds fine, for what it is, but I'm noticing an insane amount of hum, and almost no signal, into the tweeter.
I'm currently working on building upper horns into it, and while working in it, I'm noticing that whoever last had it, wired the amp out directly to the bass speaker, bypassing the crossover, so the stock tweeter wasn't even to getting signal. I swapped the wires back to how they should be and discovered pretty much only noise coming out of the tweeter.
I'm working on it in my garage and only testing with a guitar right now to just test signal flow, but that hum is there with or without anything plugged into it.
I know this is kind of broad and it could be any number of things causing this, but does anyone have any ideas of where to start looking?
Does anyone have a pdf or a link to an accurate transcription of Green Onions? I would love to learn how to play it the proper way. Thanks in advance to any who can help.
Hey everyone!
Does anyone here know a place that sell Hammond organ parts in Canada? I looked online and only found American website with +/-40usd shipping cost only for a couple replacement keys.
