I’ve gotten to a point where I just don’t want to risk buying a shirt that isn’t comfort colors, it’s the only brand that consistently fits me well. Only problem is that it sucks trying to find band shirts that use the brand. Anybody know of any alt rock bands (preferably from the 90s and early 2000s) that use comfort colors for their merch?
What festivals and gigs are you off to this weekend or next week?
Who'd you see this week that was awesome?
Post your favorite music made before 2010 here!
I write a lot of alt rock mixed with a bit of a pop punk and 80s synth pop twist on it. Live It Up by Well Behaved is more on the pop punk side and I had a blast recording this with one of my best friends!
Let me know what you think and if you are an original artist or just enjoy experiencing new music, add a link to your favorite release this year
Top single from independent Wigan, UK band, absolutely bangs and completely underrated imo. One of those hidden gems that get lost in time.
This is the closing track off my band Shutter new EP “Above Us All” FFO: Failure, Superheaven, Basement, Bush Available on all streaming platforms!
I don’t listen to that much Yes, but it just dawned on me that many alt rock singers seem to take some vocal cues from him. Off the top of my head, Perry Farrell of Jane’s Addiction and Shannon Hoon had quite a bit in common with him. Not sure if either of them have mentioned Anderson or Yes, but I’d put money on the fact that both were probably pretty big fans.
Hello all, my dad and his friend recently released their 3rd album along with a few singles. It’s no joke and no lie actually VERY GOOD MUSIC. The only issue is that it’s very hard to promote music these days. I want to see him do well as his son and grow his band a little. So if you’re looking for new quality alternative/rock/punk music give them a chance!! Their band name is “Foolish Manure” and the new album is called “Sugarfoot”
I’d start with these songs first because they are in my opinion the best:
Pretty Fishes, Deathbed confession, Exit Wound, Split the difference, Barista, embryo, Weird energy,
Please leave any feedback on the band that you have! All is appreciated :)
P.S. Sorry if this post is weird I don’t really know how to use Reddit that well
My favorite bands are The Warning, Green Day, Soundgarden, Audioslave, Alice In Chains, RATM, and RHCP. My brother (19) isn't the massive music fan I am, and mostly listens to Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen and the shallow 70s, 80s classic rock that I've come to look at with, frankly, boredom and distaste.
Anyway, I'm trying to get him more interested into my stuff. He shows some interest in Green Day I think, but doesn't seem to have much attachment to them. My theory right now is that my taste is a little too heavy for him, like AIC and Soundgarden, and a little too dark. Obviously I can't shove it down his throat.
For example, I played Man in the Box by AIC while we were hanging out last weekend, and he basically just found an excuse to leave shortly after I turned it on. He has said in the past he enjoys Green Day, but I've never heard him or seen him listen to them on his own time.
Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts or comments, me and my brother don't have a whole lot in common anymore, so I'm trying to find some commonality with music.
Post your favorite music here - alt rock or otherwise!
I'd say a contender is REM - Orange Crush, Turn You Inside Out, Hairshirt & I Remember California from their 1988 Green album
Any other contenders?
