Sabbathian riffs, and maybe some grass.

WELCOME TO R/DOOMMETAL
Doom 101
Doom metal is an extreme form of heavy metal music that typically uses slower tempos, low-tuned guitars and a much "thicker" or "heavier" sound than other metal genres. Both the music and the lyrics intend to evoke a sense of despair, dread, and impending doom. The genre is strongly influenced by the early work of Black Sabbath, who formed a prototype for doom metal with songs such as "Black Sabbath", "Electric Funeral" and "Into the Void".*
During the first half of the 1980s, a number of bands from England (Pagan Altar, Witchfinder General), the United States (Pentagram, Saint Vitus, Trouble) and Sweden (Candlemass, Count Raven) defined doom metal as a distinct genre.

Daevar - Siren Song
This song just rips. Heavy has fuck, but the vocals are hauntingly beautiful.
Enjoy
This is our debut track 'Nasht & Kamen-Thah'. Give it a listen you weirdos. 🙂 If you like it, help us spread the word - the King in Yellow has arrived.
Debating getting rid of Spotify but will miss the exploring of artists, thinking about moving to a mix of bandcamp and internet radio. I have a collection of CDs and don't really want to get into record collecting.
What do you use and find works best for supporting your favourite artists?
I saw many people listening or collecting albums, mostly records (LP) but only few CDs.
Cancervo III, had it on repeat for like a month now
I’ve tried so many websites trying to find one and none do them had any, trying to get one that’s either white or red as that’s the color scheme for my jacket.
Alright so I'm using an amp SIM for practice/recording. Sadly no amp worship in this house 🤣
I'm looking to emulate feedback I was looking at the Digitech freqout or the bluecat plugin AcouFiend.
Any of you lovely folk have experience with either?
Wicked trip 🤘
New job doesn't allow headphones, but everybody takes turns on the Bluetooth speaker. Most of the time I pass up my turn and just tell people I listen to a lot of "weird shit", but sometimes when I'm closing and it's just me and another dude I'll play some Sleep or Sabbath, at first I was embarrassed, but they seemed to vibe with it!
Has me thinking about what doom metal can be considered socially acceptable, so far I have Sabbath, Pentagram, All Them Witches, (some) Gojira, truckfighters, Melvins, king gizzard, and clutch(maybe candlemass?). What else should I throw on the playlist?
Also I know being embarrassed and feeling I need "socially acceptable" music is bs because you should like what you like (one guy played grindcore for 2 hours today), but I still like the idea of having a playlist to get some people on to doom metal
This is legit one of my favorite Doom bands. The Riffs are addictive, thick, and heavy. The lyrics are great. And the vocals are just incredible. They have a few other albums that are really good as well. This one just happened to be the one I discovered them from when 666MrDoom posted this 6 years ago. Incredibly underrated. I clicked the Stoner tag, but I'd say it's also sludgy. Sludgy Stoner Doom. https://youtu.be/tlJP6VtOB2I?si=1-B1-R1hufYz8lzN
Also has anybody seen/heard the opening act? How are they?
What a truly amazing gig, playing flawless, sound mix superb & video running in the back ground pulled it all together, well worth the travelling.. Kevin’s Starrs is a maestro.
I've really been on a stoner metal kick lately and I neeeeed more of those sludgy thick soul crushing riffs in my life. I'm not exactly new to the genre that's for sure, but I know you fine fold can find some face melting ear drum blasting jams I haven't heard yet.
For reference some of the stuff I've been loving lately, weedeater, sleep, electric wizard, truckfighters (mostly gravity x if I'm being honest here), goatsnake, windhand, uncle acid and the deadbeats, and plenty of others I'm forgetting to listen right now.
If I could inject Jason... The dragon directly into my veins I would, though I imagine a similar effect could be achieved by smoking half an oz of pot and then slamming a bottle each of whiskey and cough syrup.
Let's see what you got.
The first two playlists they recommend are about not doing drugs and going outside 🤣
