Vinum Sabbathi.
Welcome to the Doom Metal Sub
Doom metal is an extreme form of heavy metal music that typically uses slower tempos, low-tuned guitars and a much "thicker" or "heavier" sound than other metal genres. Both the music and the lyrics intend to evoke a sense of despair, dread, and impending doom. The genre is strongly influenced by the early work of Black Sabbath, who formed a prototype for doom metal with songs such as "Black Sabbath", "Electric Funeral" and "Into the Void".
During the first half of the 1980s, a number of bands from England (Pagan Altar, Witchfinder General), the United States (Pentagram, Saint Vitus, Trouble) and Sweden (Candlemass, Count Raven) defined doom metal as a distinct genre.

FAQ
Can I post something if it's not doom metal? Yes! We like proto-doom, sludge, stoner rock, heavy psych, and other "low an' slow" stuff from bands that aren't considered doom metal.
How should I tag my post? Tag it how ever you want, but this is what we think works best. "Artist - Song Title [style, country, year]" (without the quotes)
I can't see my post. What happened? It was probably caught by the spam filter. Click here to send us a message and we'll fish it out for you.
Do you have link flairs? Yep! Here's the list.

Hi everyone! I’m searching desperately for an album and I can’t for the life of me remember the name. At this point I asking myself if it isn’t just a fever dream and it never existed. All I can remember is the cover. So the cover was green with purple and black margins, and it was like a collage ala Primitive Man. I distinctly remember something like a person with a hood on the left. The album was horror inspired, both in lyrics and sound. I believe it was released somewhere around 2016, 2015. Does anybody have any clue about album this might be?
Hi all,
Whether a stand alone piece or an app, what tuner have you found to be the most accurate when tuning real low? I have seen a few that don’t even offer options below certain tunings, or some that just don’t work great.
I found the fender tune app, you can set up the pro tuner to c standard and that works the best for me so far.
How bout y’all?

Comment here with a link to your release. This will remain up for for two weeks!
Just a suggestion, but throw out a little extra info! What genre do you consider it, if any? Where do you hail from? Any upcoming shows? Solo project? Who plays what instruments? Anything else you wish to share?
I'm new to bell witch, what albums would you recommend because I love mirror reaper.
FFO: Witchfinder General, Candlemass, Saint Vitus, Sabbath, Count Raven
I'm not really sure how to decide who to give it away to, but I will not able to make it to Chicago. I'm not sure if the show is sold out but regardless I have a free ticket that won't be used and someone's mind body and soul should be shattered in my place.
EDIT: Ticket has been given out! doom on yall!
Setting up a show in Raleigh at kings on July 2nd and I’m looking for 2 maybe 3 local doom/stoner bands to hop on the bill. Being in Richmond Virginia I don’t know enough about the scene down there yet so the few bands I have reached out to are either busy or haven’t responded
Sadly my cars starter decided to go out and I don't have another vehicle worthy of the trip (2.5 hours each way for me). Might as well share the wealth. First one to reach out can claim them! (Just take plenty of vids/recordings for me)
Bass of this new riff I came up with the other day
I wonder how much they were inspiring eachother since they were active at the same time. A Burial At Ornans sounds identical to parts in Origin of Feces cause of the snare and bass tone
Edit: Holy fuck this used to be one of the more laid back genres what the fuck happened? I said the snare and bass tone are similar(which they undeniably are) and you all are like “well actually🤓” wtf guys lmao
How dont they get more recognision? They are one of my favourite modern funeral bands, and I dont understand how they get so little atrention
Just out of curiosity, which doom albums (and other related albums) do you think sound the most satisfying?
For me, I immediately think about Buried at Sea "Migration" for example, both stunning album and sound, or Conan "Existential Void Guardian" whom I'm not a great fan but I love how they sound. Esoteric "The Pernicious Enigma" too has a very distinctive sound (and I love the album). What are yours ?
Second favorite Doom band behind the miighty Yob of course. What your favorite song? For me Sirens of Yersina and last leaf. Just killer
