Love this Christmas blues tune, anybody else?
I've been listening to the audiobook of Muddy Waters and had the displeasure of being introduced to what might be the worst track I think Mud ever recorded, getting in on the twist craze at the time:

Anyone else think of any tracks by other great musicians which are so glaring bad compared to the rest of their work?

Myself and Stud are currently in the studio and gearing up for 2025. Made this promo vid for our press kit. Furthermore, it’s been an honor to play and learn from Stud, who started playing with his grandfather, T-Model Ford, at the age of 10 yrs old.
Hope you enjoy
I’m listening to Tinariwen for the first time, and I can’t believe some of the similarities between their “desert blues” and the hypnotic driving rhythm that I love from hill country blues artists like Junior Kimbrough.
Does anyone know about any direct influences and connections or did they develop in complete isolation?

Hey yall! Feel free to delete if not allowed, but I just wanted to share this recording my band (The Keepsakes, we are Bristol, UK based) just put out. It's an original self produced electric blues track called "How Many Days And Nights?" inspired by folks like Freddie King, Albert King, Jimmy Witherspoon and Eddie 9V. We welcome thoughts and opinions!
Fairly experienced upright and electric bassist here, previously played both at jams and found that people overwhelming preferred the upright bass. Looking for more opinions on upright bass at jams, more than just my little community. What do y'all think?
For context: I play with a pickup and heavily amplified, very little acoustic sound because I use muting on the wooden top of the bass to prevent feedback. Sometimes rockabilly techniques, sometimes jazzier, but mostly just replicating the style of electric bassists with the sound and look of an upright.
