/r/progressivemetal
A subreddit for the metal subgenre progressive metal.
All lineages of metal turned progressive are welcome here. Metal songs with unconventional song structures, odd-time signatures, key, tempo and mood changes all belong here.
However, unlike /r/progmetal, that means no -core, alternative, djent or rock bands. So post your BTBAM/Protest the Hero/Tool/Animals as Leaders/Porcupine Tree over there.
Everything progressive in the metal world.

So is r/Metal too little prog for you, and r/progmetal too little metal? Then this is the place to go to.
NOTE: Bands with either prog metal as a secondary genre or of a strongly related genre are welcome too. So we generally allow post and avantgarde metal as well and Iron Maiden's longer songs are welcome too for example.

Hi folks,
Caelestra has new album coming out soon called 'Bastion'. I recently released the first single 'Finisterre' and would love to share it here with you all. Hope you find it to your liking :)
For fans of Ihsahn, Devin Townsend, Gojira, Opeth, Kardashev, Astronoid.
Today I released a song called "From That Citadel in the Sky", which is a phrase from the Ancient Greek philosopher Seneca in reference to viewing life in the broadest perspective possible--that in the broadest perspective of the universe, everything is fine.
You can stream and download the song here: https://culak.bandcamp.com/track/from-that-citadel-in-the-sky
A taste of the end? Connect The Circle`s new album 'Wolf In The Sky' (tba) features Baard Kolstad (Leprous/Rendezvous Point) on drums.

Dreadpin is prog rock/metal band from Estonia and that is their second music video. Hope you all like it.
A while back I asked for band recommendations on the sub and found a couple good bands. But on band really stood out to me and that was The Reticent, truly amazing. But I do want to keep going into this genre of music, got any more Prog/death metal band recommendations? I like the band Opeth, Rivers of Nihil, and now The Reticent.
If you know and like the band (Connect The Circle), what song is your favorite:

Hey all,
I'm Kris and I host a podcast called Psychic Warfare, where I interview metal and rock artists of all subgenres about the philosophy and spirituality that has guided their life and music. It goes much deeper than I think most interviews in heavy music media ever go with musicians. I promise I won't promote it too much as per the rules, and I'm not sure if this is welcome here, but I just dropped my first episode in a year (had to break for personal stuff) and it features Cammie Beverly of Oceans of Slumber. I felt they had enough prog-leanings and tendencies to warrant a post, so check it out below if you appreciate actually diving into the soul of a person instead of learning if they enjoyed their last tour or had fun making their new record. I hope you enjoy it and subscribe to the pod if you like the content! Thanks guys!

New single from HARTLIGHT !
So I recently got into the progdeath scene, I absolutely love Opeth. So excited for their new album. I also love listening to Death and Edge of Sanity. Although I’m looking more for an Opeth sound. However, I also would love to hear a band that actually expands on the sound created in Where Owls Know My Name by Rivers of Nihil. Mind you I’m not looking for tech death bands, I find kind of boring but anyways, yall have any recommendations.
