Does anyone got more info about this ? (Release date, tracklist, etc.)
Saw this but I don’t see anything about the band itself touring on any of their socials or their website.
Hello, I was listening to this album and the last song on spotify "The power and the glory" doesn't appear anywhere, neither on rateyourmusic or on their official youtube channel. Is it an official song or just a demo of a song they thought for the album? Or another thing...
I can't find any Gentle Giant shows besides the main ones on YouTube. I'd love to dive in deep and hear all the bootlegs if there are any out there. Any help is appreciated!
The link was to a Gentle Giant CD, not even vinyl!

Did a while ago when I finished all the albums but forgot to post and edited a tiny bit of it since. Maybe some songs could sound meh on my next listen, and another ones could possibly grow on me, but this are my thoughts for now. This is not "best" or "worst", it's just my favorites and least favorites.
Once upon a time, a civilian in London acquired the taste of an octopus, and it was delicious, so he ate octopus again and again after that, but none of them tasted like the first octopus he ate. Three friends did an Interview with him about this search for the best tasting octopus. He described the search as finding the missing piece of himself. Eventually he found an evil witch offering him an octopus that would be tastier than any other octopus in the land, it would make him feel “giant for a day.” He desperately took the offer and after eating the octopus, his body began to grow, and he turned into a gentle giant. The townspeople of London respected him and he ruled with power and glory for many a time, until the evil witch stole his throne and pretended to be a relative of the gentle giant. She had locked him inside a glass house executed him, except for his hand, which escaped and supposedly still roams the streets of London free at night.
Been on a big Gentle Giant kick recently, listening to them a bunch and I really enjoyed all of Steven Wilson’s remix of Free Hand outside of his take of On Reflection but noticed I couldn’t find the album! Just the original mix, and I found the same thing with Civilian (Steven Wilson remixed that too right? I’m not crazy). Was just wondering if anyone had any insight.
(Aside from Playing the Fool, but live albums are different)
Have any of you who own the Giant For A Day LP ever cut along the dotted lines, affixed elastic to the mask, put on your mask, and become a giant for a day.
Jokes aside it would be hilarious, in an alternative universe when Gentle Giant actually went mainstream and people use the wear their mask on concerts to be a Giant For A Day.
I always wanted to see this in better resolution, so I decided to do it myself. What do you think?

Has anyone here ordered from the official website? How's the quality of the t-shirts and how do they fit?
https://gentlegiantband.com/collections/apparel/products/gentle-giant-free-hand-short-sleeve-t-shirt?variant=39712767312031 I'm thinking about this one specifically
I'll never understand how this band could come up after 10 years with a 32-minute album and sound as great as they ever got. I just listened to Giant for a Day for the first time which is an, IMHO, mediocre album with 3 great songs (title track, Friends and It's All Goodbye) and, unfortunately, 7 boring ones. Then, I started Civilian with absolutely zero expectations... and my jaw completely dropped once I was done. This may be the least complex, least progressive and least artsy they ever got, and this may be (either it or GFAD) their most hated album, however I think it's my favorite.
Full of catchy hard rock tunes like All Through The Night, Number One, I Am A Camera, etc and also having some of their most emotional stuff, musically and lyrically, like Shadows in the Street and Inside Out, which isn't something I expected from an oddly short album made by a band that knows this is their end. From start to finish, an amazing album. I respect you if you disagree, but please give Civilian another chance, because as I said, I thought it would be OK at best before listening to it and now it's my favorite Gentle Giant album.
So, after 11 albums, my journey has come to an end. It was amazing to discover such an delightful and unique band to listen to, that has the double of experimentation of most prog bands, tho in way shorter songs (which I dare saying it's a genius thing). This is my final ranking of their albums:
11- The Missing Piece
10- Giant for a Day
9- Acquiring the Taste
8- In a Glass House
7- Octopus
6- Gentle Giant
5- Interview
4- Free Hand
3- Power and the Glory
2- Three Friends
1- Civilian

Does’t really sound like Kerry or Derek, and I haven’t heard any of the others take lead vocals before.
With the summer soon to be here, please for the love of all that is holy and unholy, restock 2XL T shirts and hoodies.
Thanks.
