I’m facing some personal matters that require me to travel back to my home country for a while, and I’m looking for a trustworthy place where I can leave my dog during that time. Ideally, I’d like to find a sanctuary or a similar environment where he can be well cared for, get some socialization, and feel comfortable while I’m away.

Does anyone have recommendations for good dog care facilities or sanctuaries in the charlotte area? (Although ill travel for him) I’d really appreciate any advice or suggestions!

Anyone know of a company that cleans headstones in the Supply/Shallotte NC area? My mother keeps talking about having headstones of family members cleaned, but there isn't a water supply in the cemetery. It is a small family/community cemetery on Stone Chimney Road in Supply

My friend is staying with her relatives in Calabash, NC for Christmas break and asked if I want to meet up halfway. I would be coming from Raleigh, NC. I looked at a map and I’m not super familiar with the area in between as I’ve only lived here for about 2 years now. We would have 2 toddlers and possibly 2 tweens with us so just curious if anyone has a fun meeting place in that area that is kid friendly? Or is it more worth it for me to drive to Calabash and stay overnight?

My mom moved to Fayetteville, NC last year, and my fiancé and I really would like to live a lot closer (currently in AZ lol) to her. We don’t necessarily need to live or work in Fayetteville but would like to be an hour and a half away at the furthest. Would really love some local perspectives on where a young couple (27 & 31) could have success finding jobs, and somewhat affordable housing? Open to any and all suggestions, because we’d really like to make this a reality before our August wedding in 2025!

My fiance and I are currently long distance. He's moving to Ohio, which is where I am, in about 3 to 4 months. Maybe 5. We plan to stay in Ohio while I finish my schooling, then stay for about 2 years or so to save up money for the move back to NC. We want to go to college together at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee NC, and are trying to find a house to rent and/or apartment that's at maximum 900 for rent per month, as we'll both be working part-time at that time due to our studies. He's going to psychology and I'm doing teaching. Maximum is around 4 years in college, which is good because WCU is a 4 year public college that offers both of our wanted majors. I'm (hopefully) graduating early through online schooling, and am currently a sophomore. We plan to stay near the area even after graduating so we're not near Hickory, which is where he grew up. We're in the jist of wanting to be far away enough from Hickory that his family can not simply show up unannounced, but also close enough if there's a family emergency. Longest I'm willing to commute to school is about an hour, preferably just thirty minutes if possible.

As a summary, we need help finding good apartments in or around Cullowhee for 900 or below rent per month. We don't want anything permanent.

We somehow ended up on the Tail of The dragon going to Knoxville and that was not fun. My dogs all got sick in the car.

Hoping to find where info my father was in to Elementary School circa ‘54-‘57. My father was John Chidgey, both of his parents were stationed at Camp LeJeune, their records there have been found. However, documenting of minor children is a little hazy. As a traveling military family, my father was never in the same elementary school for more than one year. He became an officer for the Marine Corps at Quantico. If anyone has any thoughts or possible memories as to how I could find out I would be grateful. I have about exhausted all avenues on Ancestry.

Hi, I am wanting to take my drivers test. I’m 28 and currently don’t own a vehicle. I understand I need liability insurance and am aware of non owners insurance. However, upon researching and contacting insurance companies, they say that because there are vehicles registered to my address, that I will instead need to be added to their policy and won’t qualify for the non owners insurance.

I could be added to their policy, but the issue is I can’t use their car for the test. The plan was to use the driving school’s vehicle that I have been practicing with for the test, but based on what the driving school is saying that’s not an option if I’m insured on another vehicle at my home and I would HAVE to use that vehicle I’m insured on instead?

Can anyone clarify any of this? Super confusing and I seem to keep going around in circles with this.

Hey all, Long story short my wife has some health issues and has to convert from lifelong coffee fanatic to low acid herbal teas only.

For Xmas I got her a hot/iced tea maker and I am trying to get a bunk of bulk herbs so we can come up with cool recipes for teas.

Got married Dec 2022 Paid for her dental bills with my credit card ($2,500~) She started the affair "mayish" 2023 Found out Oct 2023 and sperated.

Can I sue her for the dental bill debt considering I paid for it only because she was my wife and made a legal commitment to stay faithful to me? Or is that not possible and I have to just sue for alimony and possiblly for legal fees that I have to pay aka lawyer and filing fees"

We were codependent with our financial situation so now that we are separated my funds are to low to really hire a lawye and even afford cost of living. She really fucked me over and is paying 0 consequences and leaving me with all the debt. If you know a NC lawyer who does pro bono work it would be a blessing to send me there way 🙏🏻🙏🏻

I'm reselling my car to a family member and I need to transfer the title to them. I know I need to fill out an MRV-1 form, but I'm a little confused regarding the "Title Application" section and the "Owner" section.

I checked the second box as the vehicle is operational and the new owner will be driving it. I'm not sure if that's the correct box for that circumstance but it seems to be the one that fits most accurately.

Owner Section

I wasn't sure if my information is supposed to go there as the current owner, or if their information goes there as the person who will be owning it.

If anyone could help clarify these two details, I'd really appreciate it! Thank ya!

tl;dr: In 2020, BCBS was shutting down doctors' office in North Carolina and elsewhere. The U.S. federal government agency, OPM (HR agency), said it wasn't their responsibility if people couldn't get healthcare. OPM's independent Inspector General is now doing a pre-investigation into OPM's lack of action. OPM OIG is unfamiliar with contracts, legal clauses, and health insurance and asked me to reach out to regular folks for information.

c. Medical Providers (current/former) or others knowledgeable about contracts w/ insurance companies. (more info below)

d. Legal folks (current/former) who can discuss allegedly-illegal contractual clauses. (more info below)

e. Contract folks (current/former) knowledgeable about service contracts/compliance to ensure you're getting what you're paying for and what to do if the services aren't delivered as expected. (more info below)

g. Retirees who aren't afraid to lose their jobs for speaking up and has more time than the sandwich generations.

3) 2020 EVENT: In 2020, BCBS was shutting down doctors' offices nationwide. This would have a harmful impact on employees and company/government operations if employees couldn't receive critical meds and timely medical care. OPM signed the insurance contract with BCBS, but it refused to stop BCBS; it authorized a random US govt employee to enforce federal laws and the $50 billion contract on BCBS. It took two days to successfully do so, saving healthcare access for millions of feds and Americans.

4) OIG PRE-INVESTIGATION REQUESTS: OPM OIG asked me to reach out to other folks to help with their pre-investigation. They are not lawyers and are unfamiliar with health insurance. 1) They asked if folks remember issues in March 2020. 2) They also requested to speak to folks to learn more about the Insurance Companies' contracts with in-network doctors, specifically the reportedly-illegal clauses which state a company can threaten the doctor's license if s/he report a company's harmful actions.

5) AGENDA:

• Q&A briefly

• Brainstorm re: 1) OPM OIG's requests and 2) other action to protect healthcare access, esp if OPM OIG declines to investigate.

I have a 2022 xle premium that has a mud/sand setting. Does that mean we don't need to "air down"? I've heard people say sand gets into the brakes and it's a problem....is that true? Would love to drive on the beach, obviously don't want to ruin my car doing so...

We now know where we’ll be spending all our anniversaries in the future! Forget Fiji, forget Venice, this charming inn with panoramic views of the mountains also has the best dining with Newman's Restaurant. The hosts, Marc and Marianne, could not be more gracious. They're always there. Nobody cares like an owner cares. You can feel this vibe right away. The inn is very clean, friendly, cozy and welcoming. We’ll be back, again and again to sit in front of the roaring fireplace.
