The French Broad River MPO is developing the regions next 25-year long range, multimodal transportation plan and needs YOUR input. Please take and share this survey (https://publicinput.com/elevate2050goals).
Come talk about your thoughts for the future of the transportation network at one of the upcoming events:

I've tried calling and emailing the county tax office. No answer. I tried submitting a form on their site.
I posted in the Madison county sub. No response.
We usually have our tax bill by now. I am wondering if the offices still aren't operating because of the storm.
Anyone else have a number they can get through to?
Thanks.
EDIT: In case anyone else has the same question. Thank you to a kind redditor - they have a new temporary number.

Tax bills will be going out in a week.
Just wanted to express my gratitude to everyone who has stepped up to help our community. God Bless these first responders and police officers. They have handled this with the utmost professionalism. And all of these people coming out of the woodwork to help us.... it's a beautiful thing!
Ingles in Mars Hill has NOT behaved like a homegrowm company throughout this entire ordeal.... their operation has been downright criminal. Wasting all of that frozen food, denying community members access to resources .... to my knowledge not a drop of gas allotted to linemen and first responders. Once the dust settles from this tragedy we will all need to seriously reasses patronizing this business.
My gf's husband had not been able to locate his aunt and uncle pictured. They were told the house was leveled. Any info about this couple would be appreciated. Prayers lifted for you all. 🙏❤️
I26 will take you up to the final nc exit and detour backroads to and through erwin from there hop on 26 north to johnson city and everything is normal. Publix and ingles had plenty of food. All fast food and gas stations are open. You likely can stop at north erwin area walmart without having to go as far but I can't confirm what they have available stock wise. Erwin did have gas pumping as of 1pm at 2 stations also
Long line to get in.
My friends are stuck in Mars Hill and have no where to get gas, where can they go to get anything to help them get out?
They were letting people go in to get groceries. People were getting gas as of noon 9/28/24
Does anyone know how Mars Hill University is doing after the hurricane? My nephew (more like my little brother), goes there and we haven't been able to get in touch with him since Friday. From what I've heard, the school is doing ok, but I'm just so fucking worried.
Curious how Mars Hill has faired from hurricane Helene?
Reminder to take the public survey open til 8/30:
If you have time to take a survey about your priorities for the Asheville region's transportation network (Buncombe, Henderson, Haywood, and Madison counties), your input is very important! And please share with your friends too. The MTP is a key planning effort that will help dictate funding for the next 25 years as far as transportation projects are concerned 😎
What are the closest picnic benches (or gazebos) for outside lunch near Main Street ?
