Pwn the poor working libs, Vote Trump to punish them with high prices thanks to tariffs!

If you think gay people, black people, and gender nonconforming people deserve the same rights as the rich people who inherited their daddy's retail empire, you deserve to be punished for your trangression. When Donald Trump imposes his Big Beautiful Tariffs on all imported goods, the rich retail heirs like Art Pope will be just fine and will love watching all you poor working class libs struggle harder to get by. Finally then you will stop making fun of him when you have to come crawling, begging for a $7.65 an hour job so you can buy a bag of parboiled rice for $12 so your kid doesnt go to sleep hungry. This is what you deserve for questioning the righteous God-given authority of the rich.

So Impressed and Excited by Anderson Clayton So Far

Disclaimer I am not a NC resident but have a close family member that lives there.

The NC Dem party has been great in state wide races and presidential years but they have underperformed in smaller down ballot races.

In 2O22, the party dropped the ball

She is in the same position as Ben Wikler was in 2O19 WI (trying to stave off a Republican supermajority while making sure Dems survived in local races and kept building up the infrastructure.

He also made sure (made sure to get lot of resources from Dem party. and to ensure that Janet won the Supreme Court special election seat to flip the court 4-3 in liberal favor.

Now his organization is paying off and can finally compete in a fair map.

Unfortunately, the NC dem party dropped the ball in 2O2O and 2O22. The liberals had the court and were able to end gerrymandering (so we got 7-7 seats in midterm of 2O22

There was almost no attention given to the Supreme court seats! So the Dem court fipped and the new conservative court immediately brought back gerrymandering. This will cost us 4 seats this year making it more difficult to retake house.

But finally the party is taking all races seriously. I heard Anderson on MSNBC mention how important it is to defend Allison Riggs seat this year so we can maintain 5-2 Republican majority

Unfortunately, we have to wait until 2O28 to retake the court and end gerrymandering.

Hopefully she can be the next Ben Wikler for NC.

I'm a BullCity Parent -- what happens to our schools if Michelle Morrow wins?

I'm not here to debate politics, I'm here for real feedback from public school parents.

My 4 yr-old will be starting kindergarten next year and I have to say I'm a little worried about what our public schools are going through.

I know every child is different, the real curiosity here is what are other public school parents seeing happening with busing, class sizes, curriculums since the right has been waging moral-panic about kids and withholding funding from public schools?

I'm also not here to call names, but I think it is painfully clear that across the isle all see that there is one candidate who actually has a plan and a reputation to better NC schools and that is Mo Green.

Any insight would be beneficial and if you voted for mo green or plan to - please do shout it out.

** UPDATE **

comments here have been so so helpful -- I was also blown away by how so many are already doing so much to ensure that Mo Green wins this election and our public schools are protected.

if you’re passionate about protecting public schools, I’m part of a small group of concerned parents and public school supporters that are getting out the vote and sharing resources on how to protect our county school boards from Moms for Liberty types that want to help Morrow do her work. We’re collecting pledges here and trying to meet new people. Would you sign on to our effort to protect NC public schools?

Will Cabarrus flip blue this time?

Seems like things are changing in Cabarrus. 2016 Trump+20 and 2020 Trump +9.5. They have a Dem State Rep Staton Williams and very fast growing. How left would this county have to go to see a Harris win if the overall state is slightly left of 20 (Trump+5 or lower?) seems like it will flip blue for governors race. Is there a real chance for Dems to rally up bases in Concord and inspire turnout near UNCC/ Harrisburg and flip this county into Dem leadership?

Kamala Will Win - Here's Why

My father in the Piedmont Triad is a lifelong Republican. He hates Hillary Clinton almost as much as he loves Jesus Christ. (His father who died five years ago at age 94 definitely hated Hillary Clinton more than he loved Jesus Christ and that man loved Jesus.)

My dad does love the Grateful Dead and marijuana though, and I always say that if he didn't watch Fox News he might've been a Bernie guy. In 2020 he wrote in Ben Carson "because he just wants peace." (He did suffer a traumatic brain injury when he was in high school in the 70s and was in a coma for 10 days... a few pence short of a pound, as they say.)

But anyway, my father said that he spoke to me, and he heard me when I was worried about my immigrant friends, and he spoke to his sane and well adjusted successful Democratic sister, and said he loves both of us and does not like seeing us suffer or be upset or be oppressed.

So he told me that he voted for Kamala Harris!

After which he promptly went into a diatribe about how her agenda is evil, drag queen story hour is demented, sex change for transgendered people is bad, all the terrible stuff that you hear from conservatives. And he is in lockstep with the belief that abortion is murder, and that life begins when the zygote forms in the womb. And with the belief that gender is solely dependent on chromosomes alone.

But he said three weeks ago at his meeting with the New Canaan Society (which is a men's group teaching how to live ethically through a Christian worldview, which is fine, and which has some influential leaders in chapters across the country), they did an exercise where they asked what their hearts could live with with this election.

And he said, if Trump can think of a name to call you, he will call you it. He said Trump is just the most disrespectful asshole and he could not vote for Donald Trump. And that he hates Donald Trump and Harris.

But he said leaders must be respectful of people who are different. And he said he tries to approach things he does not understand, like the 400 or 500 pound person, he does not know if they are fat because of poor personal decisions, or if they have a medical condition. He says the guy who whips around the corner going 100 miles an hour and you want to curse out for being an asshole, you don't know if he is rushing home to his pregnant wife, or if he is just actually an asshole. So he tries to approach things he does not understand with curiosity.

And he said that Donald Trump is just a judgmental asshole and think that leader should be respectful so he voted for Kamala.

I popped a champagne bottle tonight. This is tremendous, earth shattering, very profound news from my father.

Has anybody else gotten these random messages

I got two copies of this letter (well one is addressed to the previous recipient, but it's from the same address, has the same thickness, and as far as I can tell without opening it). For the life of me it's just confusing. Like this is so generic that I can't for the life of me tell what part, wing, or group sent this. Too further complicate things the return address is in Madison, Wisconsin. I have never even been to Wisconsin.
