TriMkt

Does anyone know anything about them? I have searched for jobs and I was wondering if they are another MLM scheme. I was browsing their website and they heavily focus on being a AT&T representative in a store such as Costco and BJ’s. I know you’re all probably tired of me asking about companies in this subreddit, but I thought it was worth asking because they are in Raleigh and am trying to avoid companies like Acquire and Lightyear Marketing Services in Raleigh. I have searched the subreddit here and Raleigh, but found nothing. I’m not criticizing them because I have no knowledge of them besides their website.

Anyone have any recommendations for purchasing firewood in the area? I'm talking buying like 1/2 to a full cord.

Any holiday activity recommendations?

I'm planning on seeing the Piper Lights in Wake Forest this week but was wondering if there are any places that have public bonfires, s'mores, hot chocolate, or just anything else cool in the area or nearer to Raleigh/Durham for adults.

Sky diving recommendations

I’m looking for a place to go sky diving in the Greensboro, Winston, Charlotte, or Raleigh/Durham area in the next couple weeks and I’d love to hear anyone’s experience or any recommendations and advise on pricing. I’m definitely going to get a video package but I feel like that’s something I could get overcharged on.

Please tell me about your experiences

Participant needed for an MRI study tomorrow (Dec 3) from 9 am to noon at Duke

EDIT: We have found someone. If you are still interested, please feel free to send us an email, and we may be able to schedule sometime in the future (especially please email us if you are over 55, as we always need more people in that age range).

Hi,

I am a brain researcher at Duke. We are running a study on how people encode memories. We have a brain scan session scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, December 3, from 9 am to Noon at the Duke University Hospital. However, our participant canceled their session at the last minute.

This is very inconvenient for us as these types of scanning spots are limited, and it is beyond our cancellation time limit. I wouldn't normally post on Reddit, but if anyone at all could be a participant in the study that would be much appreciated. I ask that they please email our address: relrep@duke.edu

The study takes 3 hours and pays $30/hr. Of that time, 2 hours would be spent in the scanner. If you are available for 1-1.5 hours at home today, we would also ask that you do a practice session of the memory task, which you would be compensated $45 for. The total compensation is $135.

The only major screening requirement is that participants must be either below 30 years old or over 55 years old.

Thank you

We are right now interested in just filling out this open spot tomorrow. If that doesn't work for you but you're interested in participating in research at some future date, feel free to also let us know.

No one is getting out of RDU this morning folks.

TSA line is wrapped around the check-in area four times over.

To those who are considering applying for Brightly Software for jobs in Cary

I will caution that when applying for them, they will make you do projects and when you reach the final interview and if you don’t get it, they pretty much ghost you. I know this because I did apply to a SDR role last March with them and didn’t get it. Even if I didn’t get it, I would have liked a rejection email as a courtesy.

The Pit was the pits!

Our Thanksgiving meal at The Pit Restaurant in downtown Raleigh was an absolute disaster. We had a party of eight with a reservation at 3:15 PM. Earlier in the day, we called the hostess to ask when we should schedule our return ride home. She advised 4:30 PM, based on our reservation time. However, we were left standing outside until 4:30 PM with no updates, no explanation, and no attempt to communicate the delay. This forced us to cancel our ride, incurring a $30 cancellation fee.

The hostess was incredibly unprofessional and unfriendly throughout the ordeal. Every time we inquired about seating, she acted annoyed and dismissive, stating, “I’ll walk around and see what is opening, but that is the best I can tell you.” There was zero communication from management, leaving us completely in the dark about the status of our reservation.

When we were finally seated, it took 15 minutes just to place a drink order and another 30 minutes for our food to arrive. For a $480 meal, the quality was abysmal. Served family-style, we were given a bowl of turkey crumbs—yes, crumbs—that resembled leftovers more than a proper Thanksgiving meal. We had no utensils at the table and had to ask for basic items multiple times. While the waitress was polite, she was clearly overwhelmed by the chaos.

To make matters worse, the billing process was a disaster. The $60 per person charge couldn’t be processed correctly, so we were given two $29 charges per person with no explanation. Any questions about this were brushed off, and at one point, a staff member rudely addressed me as “bro.”

This was, without a doubt, the worst meal and dining experience I have ever had at a restaurant. For $480, we expected far better than what The Pit delivered. I would strongly advise against choosing this restaurant for any special occasion. Management needs to take serious steps to improve their service, professionalism, and overall quality. This experience was simply unacceptable.

Affordable Wedding DJ's?

We are booking a DJ for a ceremony and reception in April. I'll admit I am experiencing a bit of sticker shock when receiving quotes, and this is without including lighting or any extras. The lowest quote I've gotten is $1500, but I was hoping to keep it more around $1000. Is that possible these days?

Another Mover

Hey everyone long time stalker first time poster. Me and my partner are currently looking to move to raleigh! I see some posts on here where people are getting dragged for another person moving to NC, and others are more receptive. I get it, I’m coming from Fort Lauderdale so we know about over population and the whole package that comes with that. However, me and my partner are tired of this crazy city life, so we kind of liked the idea of a ‘boring’ city. We like breweries, good food, a quiet night, and we come in peace. We have done some pretty extensive research on the area searching these threads, all the travel YouTubers, and beyond. I figured I would make a post to hear some suggestions, things to be aware of, and just some advice on where to be and what to do.

Some info on us: we’re our late 20s, we love parks, restaurants, breweries (we enjoy things that are more lowkey, preferably with good lighting) and cool crafty things(?). We’re childless cat ladies so no need for any of that kid stuff.

Ultimate Frisbee

Saw a large amount of people playing ultimate at the park in Morrisville by the Crabtree creek greenway. It was an organized group. Anyone know what group meets to play and how to sign up to play?

WNC Christmas trees at the NC State Farmer's market are really nice this year

really full, good color, prices not that bad(they will never be 'cheap')

if you're on the fence about going there, hop off and go. it took no time at all to find a nice full tree

and you get to support WNC after Helene

Christmas lights for the public

Hey all,

I have family coming in from up north that wanted to check out Christmas lights. They really like Hill Ridge Farms in Youngsville. Do you have any recommendations for something similar?

Fellowship at Duke Regional Hospital - What area should we live?

Moving to Durham this summer and wondering where the best area is for an apartment? My husband will be working at Duke regional hospital, so we will need to within 15 minutes from there. Ideally in a safe and quiet area. We are also in our 30s, and would like to avoid college housing. Thanks!

Edit to add: Max budget is $2500. Would like a 2-3 bedroom.

Looking for local Krystonia collectors

Kind of a long shot but I inherited a somewhat large collection of Krystonia figurines. I want to keep a few of them but I do not need over 100... hoping there's someone in the area (hell, the state even) who collects or knows someone who collects them - or would even just enjoy them. They're a little odd but some are kind of charming! Hoping to sell but for very cheap.
