My girlfriend and I are currently going into our senior year of college with her going to Chapel hill and me at State. Both our rooming situations didn’t work out at our campuses so I’d like to know if there are any apartments where we could live in the middle and commute. We don’t mind the 20+ minute commute but are preferably trying to avoid I-40 if possible.

I know the job market is pretty messy right now with the state of the economy and the number of fake job postings but I’m desperate. I’m trying to find a job for my mother, preferably something administrative/clerical. She’s 56 and I know her age is working against her, even though she has the relevant skills. We’ve been in a tight spot since my father suddenly passed away. I am 27 and supporting our family of 3 solo but my salary is barely getting us by.

I’ve tried applying her to all of the usual spots, UNC Med/campus, any administrative position on indeed and roles through NC Works. She has minimal background in Payroll and a lot of experience working as an assistant for EC Departments with Chatham County Schools (I’ve already reapplied her through their portal but haven’t heard back). Does anyone maybe have any advice or leads for an administrative assistant? We’re located in Pittsboro, so anything closer to CH or Durham preferred, but open to anything. Any help would be appreciated!!

I’m looking to use a grounded passenger jet for a short performance piece. No airtime, nothing inappropriate, nothing messy, just some good fun for a group of imaginative friends. Time needed would be an hour and they would film it. This group of friends has been creating an annual “flight” story, with some sort of plot twist that leads to singing and dancing in the aisles. So far it’s been done in a picnic pavilion, a bus, and a banquet hall. Thinking it time to get on a plane! The idea started in support of a young man whose dream is to be a flight attendant, but as he has some special needs, so it will never really happen. He and his friends come together for some make believe fun. There has to be a grounded plane somewhere in the area that they could use! Any leads are welcome.

I’m taking today, tomorrow and Monday off and want to offer anyone a ride if they’d like to go vote. Free of charge. I don’t care who you vote for.

I posted here a few years ago inquiring where I could buy gluten free beer, especially with more variety than just Omission. The consensus at the time was Sam's Bottle Shop, which has sadly closed. I have a long commute, so ideally I'm looking for locations near 40, or in Chapel Hill, Fuquay, Garner, or Angier.
