Can anyone state what the current funding is for the PhD in bio mathematics program at ncsu is, as well as the monthly stipend.

I got deferred from NCSU with Civil Engineering intent. That's what I want to go there for, but I'm also perfectly fine with with being in the Exploratory Studies program for my first year so I put it as my second choice major (I wanna get in no matter what scenario). I am writing a LOCI but I am unsure where to send it to. I have heard both the admissions office or the department head of my major.

Even though sending it to my department head makes sense, I don't feel like that is a good play for me as I am more interested in just getting into the school than specifically getting into engineering right now. My LOCI has more stuff about me as a person than stuff about engineering and academics because I am building on my past application's essays and etc. My numbers aren't stellar (30 ACT, 3.7->3.8 GPA) so I'm not really sure.

I think it might be best to send it to the admissions office. I know a few people from last year who sent them into the admissions office and they were added to their RD applications and they got in, so I figure it's a safe bet.

So I've heard more people say department head is better but I think I'd feel safer sending into the admissions office. Let me know if I should send it to the Civil Engineering department head or if the admissions office is better. If the department head is better, some tips for tailoring it to be the best for them to hear would be appreciated.

Hi! Has anyone taken CSC 297, Python Applications this past fall (Fall 2024). I took the class this past fall, and I was looking to see if anyone had saved the Python Lecture notes & lab/project descriptions. I was looking to have these resources, so I could refer to them but also specifically with the projects, I would like to include them in my experience/coursework when I apply for jobs and internships and would like to document my code and what was required correctly. I was unfortunately unable to back up the resources prior to losing access to the course over break. Note: I am only asking for the project/lab DESCRIPTIONS, not code or anything so I'm hoping anyone who has taken the class this past fall may have saved those! Thank you!

I am in state and I was just deferred for industrial engineering. I was wondering if there’s still a good chance I get in. I have a 4.5 weighted and 3.83 unweighted with my senior grades, 1420 SAT, decent essays and ecs. I was wondering if anyone who got in for IE could post their stats below.

How cooked am I since I've done a wide range of extracurricular activities, but I go to a small private school that does not have and stem clubs that I could have joined. My school is also competitive with a class size of 50, so my SAT and GPA is good, but I'm in a lower percentile of my class.

Has any class of 29 admitted students received any info on this yet? I can't find my financial aid package or a denial/acceptance into the honors college and I'm worried.

I’m trying to schedule an exam for MIE 305 from Feb 5-7, but there is not 1 appointment open between the 5th-7th. I’ve never had this happen before, usually with any other class I’ve had there has been appointments open all the way up until the exam date. I already emailed my professor but I’m really worried about this. Has this happened to anyone else? What can I do?

How do you withdraw from just 1 class? I know it will show a W but my hours this semester are too much. I will still be above full time status. I’m first year chemical engineering student here at NCSU and officially coda’d into my major this last semester. However my question lies in how I got admitted to this university (From early action). Comparatively to the rest of you I would say I’m lacking. I have score of 1000 on the sat and a 23 on the act. I had no extracurriculars since I worked most nights of the week. I had a similar gpa with mine being a 4.0 UW and a 4.6 W. I also did college credits while in high school. Just looking what some of you guys are posting makes me feel like others should’ve gotten in over me. I don’t feel like I earned my keep.

Ok so I have got in confirmed my enrollment week ago Friday but when I try to access anything like registering my bike or planning my classes it says there is no proof I am student or they could not locate my account. What do I do?

I am a second semester freshmen at UNCG, and I am applying to nc state for a fall 2025 transfer as a CS major. At UNCG i had a 4.0 GPA in the fall semester, I took 16 credit hours, I completed college level chemistry in summer 2024 at waketech. I am taking 23 credits right now. I am done with calculus 1, chemistry with lab and eng 101. I am enrolled in calc based physics, calculus 2 and other gen eds. I will be having around 50 credits when I transfer. I have good ecs, having a goldman sachs possibilty summit internship, I participated in intramural soccer at UNCG, and I am also a president of a meditation club on campus and I also have a 1430 SAT score. What are my chances for a fall 2025 transfer.

I'm currently a senior in hs and I applied to the graphic design program at NCSU but I got rejected because of how many applicants there were, they said I met all of the qualifications but obviously they cannot accept everyone who meets them all so they were heavily encouraging me to transfer so I'm planning on going to Wake Tech next year and transferring. the only problem is that I can't commit until I find a place to live which is annoying but I will at some point. I was wondering if there were any good apps like ZeeMee where I could connect with other students going to Wake Tech, I've only been able to connect with two people from ZeeMee since no one really talks in the Wake Tech chat. I'm also looking to make more friends in the Raleigh area I go to school up here currently but home for me is 2 hours away. also, any sort of advice or wisdom would be awesome, thank you!

Hello, I applied for NCSU for early action and I was supposed to hear from them January 30th but I didn’t. On wolfpaw it changed and now says that the decisions are on a rolling basis Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me?

I was recently deffered from NCSU, and while I am in state and have legacy, I think my application is slightly below what ncsu is looking for especially for computer science (1) and business finance (2), should I change one of these majors to undecided and would it have any effect?

A group of friends of mine really want to try and get watugau hall next year. There's three of us but we heard that there are no roommate groups for watuaga. We just all have to apply and hope we get put together which would be very unlikely. Is this true? And if it is where's a good hall to live for a group of 3?

Hi all - curious if Park Scholars are typically reserved for in-state students, or if OOS students are considered as well?

For those who have received this prestigious package, can you offer up any advice? Currently a HS junior who plans on studying Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or Neuroscience (pre-med undergraduate, so I am hoping to receive a merit package for undergrad studies, knowing that I have many more years of schooling and costs to follow). GPA 99.35/106.4, 1540 SAT, 35 ACT, will have 12 APs by graduation. Class President, HOBY Ambassador, Soaring Valor WW2 Experience, Best Buddies, two sport varsity athlete/captain, certified lifeguard, and a good deal of service and leadership experience to add to my resume. I'm mentioning all of this because there are thousands of other candidates who are equally, or more, deserving of such scholarships. Any advice on what I can do between now and the fall when the application frenzy begins to make myself stand out? Thank you for any feedback!
