Computer science student here. I am taking data structures and algorithms next semester. What should I expect from the course? I hear that it is tough. Go into as much detail as possible please
Hi, I am a senior in high school and UNCC and APP state are my top 2 choices but I can’t decide where to go. I wanted some opinions from students (both pros and cons) on UNCC. Anything from sports, extracurriculars, academics, student life. Really just any feedback helps!
As my time at uncc comes to a close next semester, I have to say one thing.
Every single one of you who remembers these classes by number are absolute freaks. FREAKS I tell you.
Every time I start talking about classes, y'all over here start spouting off random numbers like these classes don't have NAMES, MY GOD.
Just kidding, y'all are alright, hope y'all had a good thanksgiving break.
Hey guys,
For some context I came to uncc with some credits already and i’m really trying to accelerate my graduation if possible (for certain reasons). If I take summer classes will this help at all? Can i still take like gen eds/ will i be able to take classes that I need towards my major? I’ve heard they are selective. If anyone has any other ideas on how to accelerate through let me know but summer classes was the best idea I had.
Thank you!!
At 17 I ended up going to an oos university. Dropped out after 1 semester with a 1.8 GPA. Took a semester off. Started over at Wake Tech at 18. Now 19 & currently have a 3.65 GPA. (Think I can finish with at least a 3.8). Will graduate with AA in FALL 2025. I’m worried that NC State will find out about the first university I attended & regardless of my drastic improvement, reject me for it. If I get rejected from NC State I'll be chronically depressed and will contemplate self-deletion. But with UNC Charlotte being my 2nd option, how will they react to my first university? I would like to know if anyone has been admitted whilst having had a bad stunt at another school. Thanks in advance
My major is accounting btw
Hi everyone! I wanted to get some info on the subjects related to software development and other core courses in mscs programme at the university. If anyone who have any experience on the below courses or have studied them during their degree can provide info on them on the basis of the level of their difficulty and also some description on how was the course in any of those given below:
Rest, if anyone can suggest any elective courses that are closely related to web development (full stack), that would be of great help!
Recently me and my 2 friends have been planning to live in an off campus apartment near UNC Charlotte. It seems as though all the positively rated apartments tend to be more on the expensive side, while the affordable ones tend to have bad reviews with many people telling you to avoid them. What do yall think would be our best bet?

hey guys, as someone who really wants to get into coding and just started and plans to be a stats/cs major… what computer should i get? i’ve heard a lot of ppl say hell no to a mac pro so i’ve been steering towards a lenovo thinkpad or a dell xps. does anyone have any advice??
Hi, I am planning to apply here for the Fall 2025 term for the online BSBA program.
I am out of state (GA) and I am wondering the scale of how these factors affects my chances of being accepted, I have a 3.7 unweighted GPA but I really didn’t do much in high school, I have been an FFA member every year of high school, I was an officer junior year and I did a bunch of CTE’s for them, other than that, I never got involved in any other club or sport. I only have 2 test scores I could use (as of right now) which are a 4 on the AP World exam and a 3 on the APUSH exam, I will definitely be taking the ACT and SAT as soon as I can though. As of right now I am a senior so I have 1 more semester left and 2 more AP classes (macroeconomics and stats) to take so I am hoping that I can get good scores on those as well. But yeah, that’s it, I was also a former resident of NC for much of my early childhood years.
So do I have a good chance of being accepted? I’d love to hear y’all’s thoughts!
Do you need a certain amount of credit hours to get accepted for housing? Like do they allow people who only take like one class to get on campus housing? Question coming from a transfer!
Has anyone gone to the campus salon to color their hair? I wanted to get a balayage but I wasn't sure if this was the best place to get it since I don't see a lot of reviews. If not is there a better place that's not too expensive in the charlotte area?
Happy Thanksgiving to the UNC Charlotte community! I know that a lot of us are busy studying for finals, but I wanted to remind everyone to spend some quality time with your loved ones, enjoy some good food, and reflect upon all the things you have to be grateful for this thanksgiving. If you have a moment and wouldn't mind sharing, I would love to hear what y'all are doing over Thanksgiving break!
I’m taking two classes over the summer and was looking to get a part time job on campus. Any recommendations? I would like to work around 20 hours a week.
im a first year looking for leadership opportunities, how could i find them? its been hard trying to get involved in clubs and other extracurriculars to be able to gain that kind of experience
Just finishing up on my first semester here at UNCC and don't think I haven't noticed a few sweet bikes sitting in the deck. Looking for fellow riders and those who maybe want to ride. So I ask....where ya at???
I took lighter courses in the fall, so I am taking more now to make up for it. I am waitlisted for the film class so its a total of 17 credit hours
DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT 49erNEXT is!??? PLEASE I NEED HELP!!!
Hi!! Does anyone know what happens if I got off the waitlist for a class, but I do not register for it (I’m having issues registering for it). Would I be removed off the waitlist? Or what happens?
Help pls, I finally got off the waitlist for BIOL 2130 Lab but when I try to register, I keep getting the corequiste error bc I am on the waitlist for the BIOL 2130 class as well, but it won’t let me register just for the lab without registering for the class as well. I really want to get the lab ahh any help or suggestions pls?!?
I’m a sophomore majoring in Computer Science but interested in being a TA for PHYS 1101. Although it strays away from the comp sci department would it still look good on resumes etc? My knowledge in physics is solid as I’ve received high scores in each exam I’ve taken but how does one apply for that position and what is that process like? Plus does being an TA get you extra cash and how much for the whole sem? Thank you.
just to double check, because i know personally i get confused with UNCC memos but am i allowed to stay in my dorm over winter break? I have a housing contract for the full school year (fall ‘24-spring ‘25) in the same suite and room. I live 20 minutes away so it’s honestly just more annoying/a hassle to move everything out. on everything posted about winter break / campus closure it only mentions check-out processes and getting rooms cleaned/empty for inspections and new move-in’s, but nothing about staying on campus.
My daughter is transferring schools from University of Hawaii and starting school in January 2025. We are trying to find her a studio, 1 bedroom, and would even consider a 2 bedroom dependent on price. We are NOT wanting a roommate or room rental situation. We would be so appreciative for recommendations of safe apartments and are also open to sublet. Thank you in advance for any and all input!
I'm an incoming freshman/transfer student, finance major. I'm starting spring 25 and building my schedule, is Principles of Accounting II or Intermediate Accounting I more helpful?
When is the deadline for class registration? I don’t go to UNCC, but I go to App and registered at the very beginning of this month, so I assume it was similar here? Someone I know has not registered for classes yet, and they start in the Spring. I am afraid they are too late to do anything… This is their first year at UNCC too. I don’t know what to do to help them. Any help would be appreciated…
Looking to see all my options for a single dorm/apartment that has a kitchen (This is for next year fall 2025)
I'm open to any price, but preferably no more than around $1100 total a month.
If anyone has any suggestions lmk, thanks
