Hey Everyone,
I’m posting this because I’ve tried just about everything I know of so far. I am looking for a job in the trades or landscaping. I just graduated from college in April and played D1 athletics which I say because I feel it shows I do have a good work ethic, and would be a good addition to a company.
I’ve been working a desk job since July but I’m not sure how much longer I can do it. The work isn’t for me. I want to get a job where I can learn skills and contribute to creating something. I have landscaped since Middle school, so I am very familiar with that industry.
Open to pretty much anything. I don’t need benefits or anything, just would ideally need to be in the $17/hour and up price range, but if you are willing to take me under your wing and train and help me grow in my career I would be open to less.
Any advice In general is appreciated!

Just wanted to put a warning out there for anyone considering applying to Compass Point Innovations. This company is NOT a real marketing agency, despite what they claim on their website. They advertise themselves as offering digital marketing services, but the reality is very different, they’re really just hiring for door-to-door sales roles.
From my experience, they mass-post job listings under various titles, but in the end, it’s all the same thing: sales jobs. If you’re expecting to do marketing work, you’ll be in for a rude awakening. I had to sit through a vague group interview (which should have been the first red flag), and even then, they dodged any real details about the role. When I finally got to the in-person interview, I practically had to pull teeth to get the truth out of them. They wouldn’t admit up front that the position was purely sales, not marketing.
What really rubbed me the wrong way was the lack of transparency. I straight-up asked the person who reached out to me if this was a legit marketing position or just a door-to-door sales gig, and she completely ignored my message. Yet, she still set up the in-person interview and had the nerve to end her texts with “let me know if you have any questions.” It’s clear that they intentionally avoid being upfront about the actual job responsibilities.
During the in-person interview, the interviewer even tried to act like they were surprised I was expecting a marketing role, saying something like, “Was it mentioned during the group interview that we had digital marketing roles? I wasn’t aware of that.” That was a huge confirmation that their website and job postings are totally misleading.
The company is virtually nonexistent online, no reviews on Glassdoor, and they claim to have an office in Texas, but there’s zero proof of that either. I just want to save others from wasting their time, as I wish someone had done for me. This is NOT a marketing company. It’s just another door-to-door sales company hiring under false pretenses, and they’re not even flexible or accommodating with interviews because they’re clearly mass-hiring.
Stay away if you’re looking for a real marketing role, you’ll just end up disappointed.

I am new to the Charlotte area. I am looking for a job that doesn’t conduct a background check. Looking and open to about anything to get some income in. I have a misdemeanor charge that’s been giving me problems finding work. Any help or guidance will be appreciated.
I'm new to the area and looking to ideally leave the service industry. I have fantastic research and problem-solving skills, and I'd love to put them to use. I'm also a strong writer but not necessarily looking for roles in which writing is the main function (though I would go into editing/publishing). I'm also open to admin/legal assistant positions. Not interested in sales: I'm not built for any kind of cutthroat environment. Thanks in advance!

Hi! My name is Jessica and ideally, I'd love to find somewhere I enjoy working, that I can turn into a career and support my family with.
I got my undergrad in Computer Science in 2022 and currently getting my Masters in the same. I just finished an Intellectual Property internship that I really enjoyed - it was difficult and complicated but so incredibly interesting.
I'd love something to be along the same vein, something that challenges me but somewhere I could use my prior customer service experience too.
If you or someone you know has any insights, leads, constructive criticism or suggestions - I'd love to hear them! Thank you!

Hi all,
My name is John williams. I live in Charlotte, Nc. I am looking to get into marketing related roles weather that is product marketing or product research.
A little bit about me I graduated from Drury University in MO with a marketing degree in 2019. I interned at a digital marketing agency for half a year working on SEO related tasks. I then started a christian apparel brand, Woven Faith which has better clarified my interest in marketing as ive gotten to learn more about marketing, product development, better understanding the customers and their buying behaviors among other things. I took a job and moved to charlotte as a Resoltuion analyst in the logistics industry, being promoted to a sr resolution analyst. Ive been here just over 4 years. This is a non marketing related position but it moved me to the city I wanted to be in. I am looking to jump into marketing now. Id love to know how some of you guys got started or made your transitions into the marketing industry! Any ideas or pointers would great :)
John
