According to the Alamance News, a former law enforcement officer was able to-WITHOUT CONSENT, logged into the social media accounts of a former love interest, UNBLOCK themselves, delete stuff, etc. This person was not charged & it took almsot a year to terminate their employment.
My question is, how many people have been surveilled without cause, charged, arrested, convicted,& had their lives turned upside down for something related to social media that was put there illegally by a member of law enforcement?
As a victim who is living this nightmare that the Sheriff's Office refuses to investigate because 1-"It's not a crime unless we say it is" & 2-they won't investigate their relatives, I feel there needs to be more accountability & security for resources that not only allow anyone in law enforcement to run rampant thru private profiles, messages, etc for their pleasure &/or to fabricate evidence. https://alamancenews.com/burlington-fires-sro-who-kissed-later-harassed-cyberstalked-teacher/
Does anyone know if there are any shops having any peircing sales in durham, burlington, or greensboro?
North Carolina is at least Number 9 in the country for human trafficking.
Why is it ARMC has absolutely NO protocols in place for possible human trafficking victims?
The Burlington Police Dept officer that showed up seemed less than competent & claimed to not know how to reach the Dept of Homeland Security who handles human trafficking & didn't bother to get back to the victim.
Seems concerning when a child is targeted, showered with gifts immediately following their 18th birthday, leaves homes during a mental break, found on Maple Ave by law enforcement & LEFT THERE, advised to file protective order against the only relatives they have, provided alcohol to the point of brain damage, tracked by a tracker put on their phone, & kicked out 2 counties away after someone took almost all of their money where they are then sexually assaulted again. This after months of forcing this person to help them strip metal that was stolen from their employer to sell & constantly taking their money to pay the pawn shops.
Not to mention, once this person made it back home, they were contacted by an alleged rehab program claiming this person was accepted into a rehab program & that a Lyft would pick them up at or before 7am in a week or 2. However, 1-this person's insurance didn't cover any kind of facility like that, 2-the place didn't take insurance, 3-there was NOTHING in writing from this place, & 4-this place had previously stated that they couldn't help this person.
Seems odd considering the sheriff had made a rant about protecting our children from human trafficking.

Hi! We are looking at building in Alamance county. Any experience with value build home? Open to any other builder suggestions that build on your land as well! Thanks in advanced!
As the title says I’m new to the city and wanted to ask Burlington residents how life is. Is there anything I should specifically know like the people/safety/environment?
I’m new to the area and would like to keep up with local news. It seems like most of the news sources like major media tv might be out of Raleigh/ Durham. Can anyone suggest a reliable local news source that utilizes an app with notifications?
Please do not get into debate of national media sources, I’m asking for local news.
That's a big restaurant so maybe the rent was too high?
Like it was fine I thought but they were just suddenly permanently closed last week
(EDIT: I was thinking of Go Burrito in the Food Hall. Burrito Loco is a different restaurant and is open)

I just moved here for work, am 26 F, and am wondering if anyone has any tips on meeting new people to try to make some friends here
Hi, I'm out of town at the moment, but a friend in Burlington today told me there's a tiny pride parade walking from city park to downtown, and there's a group of people spewing hate speech allegedly in the name of God, following the parade.
If you have time, go support the the non hate group. 🏳️🌈
Looking for a safe neighborhood to take a walk in. My dog’s groomer relocated to the area from Raleigh, and we have a 7:30am appointment. I don’t really want to drive all the way back to Raleigh, and not much is open that early. Hoping to find somewhere to go for a walk. Thanks!
For the love of whatever higher being you believe in, look at the sanitation score when you enter a restaurant.
Health inspections are free public record. Most counties you can even find it online. Google, “Alamance county CDP” and it will take you to this rinkydink looking website where you can look up all kinds of safety scores. Your community pool, day care centers, your tattoo artist, hotels, and most importantly restaurants. Read what has beed documented then reconsider if it really is worth it to eat at that place with an 84.5. Food borne illness kills more people each year than house fires do. Do your research. Be smart. The sanitation score is required by law to be present for patrons to see so they can make an informed decision on what they are about to consume. If you don’t see it, ask for it. Or look it up. And even give a little phone call to the local health department so it can get sorted out.
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk. Err, rant.
I have 40-50 old knives that I’d like to donate to a kitchen that would make use of them vs Goodwill or something.
Title says it all. No amount of pillows or ear plugs can block the noise, it's so intensely loud. I have never done this ever in my life, but I've called the police TWICE. Why the hell is there a noise ordinance if Burlington PD isn't going to enforce it!
Who the fuck has the lack or care for other humans or energy to do this literally past sunrise!
I have had a migraine for the past 24hrs and couldn't sleep at all last night.
What the fuck!
Hi! I am looking to become a piercer, and I’m not really sure where to start so I figured I would start by asking locally.
Does anyone know of a shop hiring a piercer and/or willing to train a piercer? Thanks!
