For anybody who loves fall leave colors, the beautiful ginkgo tree on NC State's campus is now showing off!
Looks like Fuquay Varina is set to see a little in a few.
Wanting to get back into Tennis more competitively after taking a break for a while. I’m in my early 20s looking for something a little more than just casual hitting partners. Maybe a league that has a tournament at the end or something with an incentive to win. Anyone have good suggestions for this in the Raleigh area?
I work nearby and at lunch time today I noticed a huge line of cars lined up to pull into that little nook with a few nondescript buildings next to the MILO apartment complex. It had traffic backed all the way up around Nowell Rd. and taking over the turn lane which was creating some confused and angry drivers.
Just curious if anyone knows what was going on there. It looks like there is a Wolfline bus depot there and maybe a few other businesses. I recall seeing this traffic backed up like this at least once before, which may have been around this time last year, which was surprising because it usually seems like a very uneventful area.
Are there any sports bars or places in the RDU area hosting the last race this upcoming Sunday?
I saw some old threads on this, but I havent been able to find spumoni anywhere in Raleigh. Anyone know any stores that carry it?
Any advice on wedding venues in the area? (specifically Wakefield barn) Caterers to use? DJs? It’s all so confusing and would be grateful for any advice, recommendations, or people to avoid! TIA! (I’ve searched the sub but many wedding posts are dated)
Is this parking open or covered? I can’t seem to find anything online about this one. I know premier and central have a lot of covered parking. Not sure about Express or economy.
Thanks!
I’m planning on moving to Raleigh soon and I’ve toured a couple places close to where I will be working. I would love to hear any pros or cons about these complexes!
I just got a job in downtown Raleigh and now I’m trying to look for the cheapest parking garages in the area. I know street parking can be cheaper but it’s a gamble to find spaces. I also know most places are free on the weekends. Help a girl out, where are the cheapest places to park? My job is near the convention center.
I dislocated my shoulder working out a month ago and had to go to the ER. Great care, but I was shocked at the final bill I just received. AFTER insurance the bill was ~$1600 for the ER and separately ~$500 to the physician (which was great but I wish would've told me they would be separate). I was in and out pretty quickly in less than an hour. Is this normal pricing after insurance for a shoulder dislocation?
I tried negotiating the bill over the phone this morning but was told they couldn't negotiate b/c they already worked out the deal with insurance. Anyone have experience here, is it possible to still reduce?
I am interested in becoming a pet sitter for some extra cash but I can’t figure out where to advertise myself. All Facebook pages have a rule to not advertise or sell.
Do you know of a good Facebook page for me to advertise on? Or any other method for that matter?
I’ve also submitted a request through Rover but I know they have steep fees so I’m hoping to build clientele outside of it.
Hey everyone! Does anyone know of any run clubs that meet on weekends or near Brier Creek?
Have seen a bunch listed here and on Facebook but they tend to be about 30 minute drive from Brier Creek, which isn’t ideal on a week day.
Has anyone had a wedding ceremony here? Trying to figure out what the white garden looks like in October. Is it still in bloom, etc? Any info appreciated.
Im looking to move to Raleigh sometime late December- January. Got a job offer as Sales Account Manager( Previous Supervisor to Warehouse Distribution in Rocky Mount Area) to work in the area and considered some apartments in the 900-1100 range. 25M , no pets. Stay to myself, might pick up another job on the aide so wont really be seen. First time renting for me, stayed with my parents and helped with bills. Time to jump out the nest! Looking for any private guest houses or cottages around that price range or less too!
Currently using zillow and redfin but having trouble looking for private landlords who are looking to rent a space on their property. Skeptical of facebook marketplace:/
It was over Knightdale a couple days ago and now it's over maybe Headingham or something? First I thought it was a really bright planet, but now I'm noticing it is way brighter than anything else in the sky. I was staring at it really hard about 15 minutes ago and I noticed that it is kind of like bobbing and weaving around, not stable.
Not see anything on FlightAware to make me think it's a registered aircraft.
I flew through RDU a couple of times the past few days and wanted to give mad props to the TSA team. Despite the long lines, the process was incredibly efficient and organized. They kept things moving quickly and smoothly, which made a potentially stressful situation totally manageable.
Wondering, what everyone is paying for daycare? It’s getting out of control here!
For context- we are paying $22k a year ($400+weekly) and our daycare just told us they are increasing by 7% next year due to rising cost. It absolutely nuts out here. And we are actively looking now for another place.
TLDR; my daycare cost as much as a Mazda3 every single year. And that’s not enough.
Any suggestions for Trivia on Wednesdays?
Preferably in North Raleigh, Crabtree Valley Mall or Wake Forest area preferred.
I’ve lived close to downtown Raleigh for over a decade, but my family and I are looking to move to North Raleigh. We like our current neighborhood but are looking for more space and a more affordable area.
Can you all suggest any neighborhoods have a local swim and tennis club? It doesn’t need to be fancy - not looking for Northridge Country Club! I grew up going to a swim/tennis club and I would love my children (6 and 10) to have that experience.
Hi Raleigh people,
I'm planning my retirement in the next couple of years and have tons of questions. Can you guys recommend a retirement planner or accountant or tax expert that can help me along?
Thanks in advance!
Anyone know of a good thrift store to find shot glasses? I'm looking for some for a gift, and I know the recipient would prefer me to buy used ones.
Hello Reddit Raleigh,
Looking to potentially buy a kei truck but would want to rent one for a week to see how it works out day to day for some work.
I saw a lot of stores on 70 but don’t think they rent do they?
If anybody knows of a way I could make this happen I appreciate it, thinking a week in December.
Checked on Turo and don’t see any, possibly due to the 20 year tag/ title time line in relation to the 12 year old rule Turo has.
(using a throwaway for privacy, if that matters).
I was recently diagnosed with a mild form of a cancer with a very good prognosis. However, I will be most likely losing parts of my hair due to the treatment I will be partaking in. I’m not sure if I will go to wigs or not, but I am looking for a stylist who can help determine what style would be best for my face shape, remaining hair texture, etc. in the meantime. I’ve so often gone to stylists who just do whatever the client wants but I have no idea how to do anything that’ll compliment my face shape in the meantime, or salvage what I will have.
Brilliant and understated. Every ingredient is carefully considered and of the finest quality. The tuna crudo to start was flawlessly fresh and properly chilled. The beautiful salad was shared by the two of us and was a great way to start our dinner. Both pasta entrees, one Bucatini with sardines and the Jemelli with hazelnut and mustard greens pesto were subtle, but rich with flavor. Excellent ail and perfectly executed with the pasta freshly made in the restaurant. A surprise was the lovely pumpkin creme brulee to finish.
To the eye, portions may appear small, but the fullness of flavor and imaginative creativity provided enough for the two of us. And we are hearty eaters of good food.
They may wish to add a 'New York blanket' in the doorway to keep out the cold wind on winter nights.
A totally delightful experience - the food and the ambiance.
I’m looking for a place to go sky diving in the Greensboro, Winston, Charlotte, or Raleigh/Durham area in the next couple weeks and I’d love to hear anyone’s experience or any recommendations and advise on pricing. I’m definitely going to get a video package but I feel like that’s something I could get overcharged on.
Please tell me about your experiences
We’re doing some de-cluttering at home and have more blankets than we need— is there anywhere in town that takes donations and gives them out to the homeless? The sooner the better since it’s getting real cold this week. TIA ❤️
I am turning 21 shortly and my vertical id is valid for a few more years. Will I be ok to purchase alcohol with my vertical ID at abc and bars?
Feeling really sick the past few days and looking for a hot and sour soup to help me feel better and open my sinuses a bit. Preferably one I can get with a delivery app!!
Is Costco still selling pumpkin pies?
