Is anybody else going to the 49ers game this Sunday? Any Bears tailgates going on?
Going to the game with my family for mine and my dad’s birthdays. We went in 2018 so hoping for a similar result. My favorite memory from that game is a big “Let’s go Bears” chant that took over Levi stadium
The NFL and its fans are turning a blind eye to the Chicago Bears when it comes to pro bowl voting this year. How many players on the team deserve to make it? A few I would say deserve it are Jaylon Johnson, Gervon Dexter, and Tory Taylor. What do you think?
The Bears have lost six straight games, culminating in a locker room mutiny. Their next five opponents have a 70% winning percentage, the second toughest remaining schedule in the league. Obviously, it would take a real psycho to do the work to figure out how a dead end, no hope Bears team currently 14th in the conference could possibly make the playoffs.
So here's how the Bears make the playoffs.
The Bears make the playoffs 3-4% of the time if they win out according to the NYT playoff predictor. That seems low, but just think the chances of the Bears losing the Commanders, Packers, Vikings and Lions games in the fashion they did were far lower odds and that actually happened!
So what must happen for that three or four precent chance to cash in?
Obviously, the Bears need to win out and get to 9-8. If they beat the 49ers, they cannot be eliminated this weekend no matter what.
Then obviously it gets just a little bit dicier.
NEED ONE OF THE FOLLOWING TO HAPPEN:
-Packers lose out in their four other games [@DET, @SEA, NO, @MIN]
OR
-Commanders lose out [@NO,PHI,ATL,@DAL]
OR
-Commanders lose 3 of 4 AND one of the Rams/Seahawks/49ers finish second in the NFC West at 9-8 with a conference record of 7-5 or or 6-6 AND/OR the Cowboys go 4-1 with the one loss not being to Washington in the finale, eliminating the Commanders before Head to Head with the Bears could come into play AND/OR the Saints win out and finish second in the NFC South at 9-8.
THEN ALSO NEED ONE OF THE FOLLOWING TO HAPPEN:
-At least Three Bucs losses [LV,@LAC,@DAL,CAR, NO)
OR
-At least Three Falcons losses [@MIN,@LV,NYG,@WASH,CAR)
AND POSSIBLY
-ONE Saints loss [@NYG,WASH,@GB,LV,@TB] if Bucs go 3-2 with the two losses being to CAR and NO in the three loss Falcons scenario and it’s not 100% even then that they would need it because the Bears would likely win SOV over the Bucs/Saints in this highly specific scenario. It's probably better for the Saints to win out and provide another path to nullify the Commanders Head to Head tiebreaker with us.
THEN ALSO NEED TWO OF THE THREE TO HAPPEN:
-At least Two Seahawk losses in their four other games [@ARI, GB, MIN, @LAR]
-At least Three Cardinals losses [SEA,NE,@CAR,@LAR,SF]
-At least Two Rams losses [BUF,@SF,@NYJ,ARI,SEA]
THEN OF COURSE ONE MORE THING:
-One Cowboys loss [CIN, @CAR,TB,@PHI,WASH] and it’s much much better if the one loss isn’t to the Commanders [Doesn’t have to be a conference loss because the Cowboys are one of the few teams the Bears alamos certainly finish ahead of in SOV in a win out scenario]
That's it. Get on board. This is a weak draft so a swing of six spots isn't going to be that determinative and barring a Packers collapse, the Bears are going to have a fourth place schedule next year anyway. If anything else, lets be the 2023 Detroit Lions and establish a culture.
Anyway, here’s a handy rooting guide for this weekend if you don’t want to get into the weeds just yet!
Games this week that matter:
49ers @ BEARS (obviously)
packers @ LIONS on TNF (The biggest game by far that the Bears have no control over. A Packers win means the Bears are completely reliant on a Commanders collapse)
RAIDERS @ bucs (only game other than their own where the Bears would be better off if the underdog won this weekend so they got that going for them!)
falcons @ VIKINGS
BILLS @ rams
seahawks @ CARDINALS (really hard to figure out which is better for the Bears, mostly comes down to who you think is more likely to get to ten wins or win the division with nine wins, and rooting for them. I think that's the Cardinals.)
Go Bears.
I feel like this got lost in the Flus coaching change. Our OLine is probably fucked if he’s out the rest of the year.
In all seriousness what does a fired coach do? Go on vacation? Does he watch the games? Is he unplugging or already looking for a new job?
Geography? Tradition? Masochism?
Some might even say...a leader of men.
I know this video is a couple weeks old but the level of detail when he speaks reminds me of KOC. This guy really seems to perfect his craft. Sign me up.

the bears can Still make the postseason here is how
Bears go 5-0 to end the season
Commanders go 0-4( if they win 1 game we can't make the post season)
Rams go 3-2 if they go 4-1 they make the ps and we don't
I’ve found similar ones without “I was there” thought this was badass
Haven't seen anyone ask. Like do the players just walk into the building now and get a different measuring stick? I thought Eberlose had built that into everything.
