The argument that the organization that is the bears have to make everyone look mediocre is a wonderful lense to have as a fan, but DJ Moore is not the person to point to. He has the stats, he runs hard. And he doesn’t drop passes. Throw the ball to DJ Moore 20 times a game and it’s a decent game. Fields made a career out of it. Fans want to act like DJ Moore isn’t the guy. He doesn’t drop passes normally like he did against KC on September 23 2023. Link in the comments to his dropped pass.
This may be a therapy post because I’m mad that DJ, Kmet and Roschon Johnson aren’t in the game plan enough.
First time I have seen this, these are points for stuff like holding the flag before games and a lot of other stuff.
Just like he believed Flus was the guy. The apologists have ran out of arguments. He NEEDS to go.
I don’t understand how no one sees this, it’s him more than Poles. I still don’t understand why he was hired since everything he’s touched has burned
Don’t get me wrong - he’s absolutely one of my favorite players on the team (and has been so for a couple years). I’m just starting to question whether he’s too much of a luxury for this defense.
It seems like he might be more valuable to a contender than he is to the Bears, who have much more important positions on defense to improve on in the coming years (DE, DT, CB2, S). I know the trade deadline has obviously passed, but it opens up again around the draft and it just feels like there might be an opportunity to sell high.
I’m also not much of a scheme guy but just observationally he always seemed to play a particular role in the Eberflus scheme, and it’s unclear whether that role will be needed for the next DC/HC.
Thoughts?
I don’t. They are too far removed from the Halas legacy to ride those coattails any longer. Their performance with the Bears has been abysmal. George Halas hired Mike Ditka in 1982. Resulting in a Super Bowl victory in 1985. The current organization is so weak, that I can’t imagine the team being competitive anytime soon, in three years? No way. The fanbase deserves owners who know what they are doing. The clowns do not.
Obviously the season has been a complete bust and the team has lost almost every way possible, but can you imagine if you had no media influence and someone told you, "Your rookie QB is going to have the following stats:"
We all know he's got flaws that he definitely has to address, but I think we'd be ecstatic at the fact that we drafted a rookie QB who put up those numbers. Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely coping here, but I wanted to share some optimism.
I'm driving 16 hours down from Canada this weekend (the tickets were bought when there was hope...) and I was just wondering what the etiquette/best place to tailgate is. My city doesn't really tailgate so this will be my first time as well. Thanks in advance!
I was born in 85 and got photos of me dressed from head to toe in Bears Paraphenalia. I remember in the 90's just sitting with my Dad watching the game on Sunday eating a bowl of pistachios. Or, going to a game during the winter and him getting frostbite on his toes. There was never ever a question about me being a Bears fan. And, I reckon I didnt care so much about records and stuff back then cause it was just about being with my Dad.
Now, I've lived in Texas now for the last 14 years and still wear my Bears hat around and participate in the witty back and forth with my Texas friends about my team. Since college I have chosen to be a Bears fan, not just adopting the team of my birth. In part because it helps me feel connected to home and family.
But, this year I think I finally am just done. I don't know if I got anything left in the tank for this team. Every off season there is this spark of hope, right? Like...we have done x, y, and z to help the team. And, everything looks good on paper. But the season comes and then reality sets in.
We suck and games are just not fun to watch anymore.
Sure we can duke it out with mid tier teams and generally beat worse teams...but the last two games, I didn't even watch. Because there wasn't a question in my heart about who was gonna win those games.
I'm tired boss and I think I am just done. Now granted the rest of this year has been rough on me too. A divorce, only seeing my kids every other week, moving, new job, etc. Which is why I think I bought into the hype this year. I just needed something to be excited about, there also seemed to be some momentum built at the end of last year.
But, I just think I am done. I just don't got the heart for more disapointment. And, hoping again just feels like I am gonna get kicked in the nads again.
I dunno...I feel crazy for even thinking about giving up on the team or disloyal, but I am just...::deep sigh::
like a lot of you, i've pretty much lost all hope in this franchise and have officially gone way beyond my not caring phase as a fan. two weeks ago, for the first time in my entire life, i willingly chose to not watch a bears game two weeks ago for no reason other than i just didn't feel like it.
but i get it can be hard to do this when you've spent literally your whole life obsessing over this team, even during the offseason. that's why i didn't just stop watching the games, i started treated myself and enjoying the day whenever the bears play to take my mind off it. and believe me, it works WONDERS. once you start doing it once, you can't stop. in the past two gamedays, i...
-drove out to crystal lake and got in touch with an old friend i hadn't spoken to since high school
-found out that that friend started up his own band and put it on my calendar to go see their next show. i eventually saw them live and they were great. i'm now messaging this friend regularly and we're keeping in touch again.
-went back home and checked out a new restaurant with a couple of friends
-paid a visit to my boyfriend while he was working on and surprised him with his favorite coffee from starbucks
-paid a visit to my little cousin and helped him out with his homework. then, we fingerpainted together.
and not once during any of this did i stop and wonder "how are the bears doing right now?" i literally didn't even know the final score of last night's game until i heard it on the radio this morning. looking back at how much i've been doing on gamedays, i actually laugh at how much time i used to spend on this hopeless dog shit organization instead of spending time with old friends and loved ones and just enjoying my goddamn life.
sports will always be a huge part of me, i'll always go to cubs and blackhawks games (even if they suck too) and keep up to date with what's happening. but the bears? this is a useless trust fund for incompetent nepo babies franchise that will never, ever be good. and life goes on. so enjoy it.
there are kids growing up in rural nepal or wherever that have never even heard of the chicago bears or have any idea what they even are. and it doesn't matter to them. their world keeps spinning.
the chicago bears will always be a terrible franchise. and that's okay.
With Poles on the hot seat, why isn’t Ian Cunningham considered as a viable GM replacement? It wasn’t that long ago that the Titans interviewed Ian for their GM position and his departure from the Bears organization was a real possibility. Is his legacy too intertwined with Poles and Eberflus at this point to be considered? Why is no one discussing him as a potential candidate?
This was one of the things that made me question Troy Aikman’s sanity last night. Or the time he said the Chicago Bears are a coveted job for head coaches LMAO.
