Can’t remember movie name

I don’t think I ever caught the name in first place but I saw it on one of those late night b-movie, probably straight to tv, marathons they used to have. I’ve tried to find it again off and on for years now any help would be appreciated.

Plot: dystopian world where a virus/disease that causes the infected to age rapidly unless they receive doses of some blue drug they inject into their hands. The drug was developed by some scientist who has become celebrated and creates a society when the infected are looked down on and exploited by the non infected. The main character is a non infected lady who thought she had the perfect life loving husband, just found out she’s pregnant only to have her world crash down when her husband is killed in front of her and she finds out he was secretly one of the infected and trying to bring down the system. She has to go into hiding with the resistance to protect her unborn baby who will be born infected from the scientist guy. Eventually she is captured by him and he reveals that he was once one of the infected and cured himself by sacrificing his own mother cuz that somehow provided the cure and his cure is based on that only purposely flawed so it wasn’t permanent. She is rescued by the resistance and the scientist killed but she decides to sacrifice herself so her baby will be cured and will provide the cure to the world.

I need help identifying an older sci-fi movie.

I saw it when I was a kid, but if I remember correctly it looked like it was older. Maybe from the 70s or 80s. I have very little descriptions to give, but what I remember is the main character eventually gets a grey suit that has a little computer thing on the wrist of it, and then that wrist doohickey shoots a laser out horizontally. He uses it to kill some big monster at one point. This happens at a point in the movie where he’s coming back to like “save the day” I think. I seem to remember it being set in sort of a desert like place. It’s not Laserblast. If anyone could help, my mind will finally be at peace.
