I've been watching Farscape reaction videos on Youtube with Funnylilgalreacts.
She's still early in the show but does a really good job of reacting to it + recapping.
In her last video, she mentioned how much she LOVES Farscape and will continue reacting to it even though it gets the lowest views out of all shows she reviews.
I then realized her other shows (which are nowhere near as good as Farscape) have like 3-5 times more views per video. That made me sad. I really wish more people would watch as its an epic ride.
If you haven't already, check out her Farscape review vids. If you also have friends who are Farscape (or scifi) fans, feel free to share the link. Would like to see more Farscape content online and more people involved.

Sure y’all get this a lot, I’m on S1e6 “Thank God it’s Friday, Again”
… this show is on drugs… but like.. in a good way? Love, love, love the different races, character design and puppetry of Dominar Rigel XVI is 💯 Also is it just me or did Ka D’Argo inspire Khal Drogo at all? - oddly enough the first GOT book came out 3 months after the first airing of Farscape which is cool.
What do you think John meant when he said this to Aeryn in the episode “Promises”?
I've just finished watching Farscape again. It always leaves me a little sad. John and Aeryn seem happy for the time being, but so isolated on board Moya.
John has forced peace on people who didn't really want it. Treaties are made to be broken. How is this one any different?
And even if the Peacekeeper/Scarren treaty holds, what about the Nebari? They seem to have a viable plan for taking over the galaxy. The Nebari plot line seems to have been dropped.
In the episode Promises, Sikozu says to Scorpius that they are on a leviathan with a fraudulent pilot.
What did she mean with this- is this a detail that I missed over the years that Pilot was not meant for Moya?
What is your take?
I didn't think they would actually do it....
I've loved the series from the first time I watched it on sci-fi channel when it first aired. So my question is this: How many of us got all teary eyed at the end of "look at the princess" as Chiton leaves after seeing his child because as a young man at the time it really got to me. And when i attempted to recall it to my wife years later as the series wasn't on television at that point and just a few years prior to the DVDs coming out recalling the plot point got me emotional then. I usually don't get pulled in on shows like that but this one got me. More than once. So the first time the wife saw that episode as well she had a full come apart. She loves the series a much as I do if not more now.
I can't find much about these on the internet.. and they stood out so much in amongst the brickabrack
On my 4th episode.....messed up and watched episode 2 which is really episode 3.... then watched episode 7 which is really episode 2 now about to watch episode 4 which surprisingly is actually episode 4 🤣..... but then next have to go back to episode 3 which is really episode 5 😳
Zaan smells like really good weed and roses and hibiscus. With an underlying sandalwood and pine resin vibe that's very faint but definitely present.
Crichton smells like old spice.
Aeryn smells like one of those sporty men's body washes but with that floral hair stuff from Zaan
Chiana I imagine has a slightly minty natural smell... (Maybe it's just because nebari have blue blood)
D'argo smells like lemongrass and musk. Underlying hint of a sort of savory vanilla note too.
Scorpius smells kinda like gasoline. Definitely leather too .. and he also strikes me as the kinda guy who would wear expensive perfume... Probably some dark floral sensual musk type of thing that pairs well with the leather. It also masks the faint lizard smell. He definitely goes out of his way to smell nice. It's part of the reason why Bracca stands so close. He's trying to get a sniff.
Bracca wears the same fragrance. Obviously.
IDK why but Jool strikes me as someone who smells like tea tree oil.
Sukozu smells expensive. First and foremost the woman has taste. Although she doesn't use perfume, rather a lot of really expensive hair products. Also it's cliche but I bet she smells kinda citrus like... IDK the scale patterns on the kalish remind me of a tangerine.
Rygel smells like a ditch in summer.
Noranti smells like portabello mushrooms and chemicals, with too many herbs to differentiate. Also weed. Definitely weed.
We have everything here. Drama, stakes, character development, action, cliffhangers, humour, incredible dialogue, some of the best sets and makeup in the series, Crichton being a perfect and empathetic human being given his circumstances…
I look forward to this sequence on every rewatch and it never disappoints.
His chat with Dargo in ep 2 is some of the best writing of the series, and Scorpius is at his peak here too.
11/10 with rice, John.
As of episode 2 I can't help comparing rygel and grogu 🤔
Season 1 episode 2
😭😭😭😭😭
Also when did she start spying?
I kinda suspect she was a spy all along because those were always her vibes... She's the queen of duplicity and good at it.
I am writing a fantasy novel and am considering swears in another language. To help me with a little research, do you think frell in Farscape was good or annoying?
To me it was 50/50.
Update: Thanks everyone for your comments. I did grow on me and I liked the creativeness. The different communities are more authentic when they are included.
What's yours?
For me, it was the moment just after John said goodbye to Olivia and Jack. With epic music playing in the background, he puts on his sunglasses and marches forward with purpose, knowing the work that was ahead of him.
Easily one of the most badass and masculine moments from John, and the one moment that really turned John into a hero (somewhat of an unsung hero at that, as the people of Earth had no clue about the Scarran threat and what John was going to have to do to save them all).
Hi Farscape fans! It's time to talk Farscape again, specifically about the dynamic between John and his dad and how it has been affected by John's previous encounters with alternative versions of Jack.
When John takes his cousin and dad up to Moya for a tour, John calls his dad "Jack" twice in a row and that scene has always struck me as being fairly powerful, and makes me think of whether the writers intended it to come across that way.
Jack doesn't really seem to react to this at all, and then it got me thinking about how badly John's mind had been messed around by the fake Jack encounter on the commerce planet where he was captured by that Scarran, or the multiple encounters with the (much less sinister) Ancients' representative.
And so when John finally returns to Earth and after spending time with his dad, is he still having doubts about this Jack's true identity and thus ends up calling him by his name? Has he been so desensitised by the various versions of Jack that he now doesn't really see the real Jack as his father?
With the stakes being so high for John at that part of the story, it's understandable that the notion of a father/family might become an afterthought. This is supported by my observation that he didn't really seem all that torn up when he finally had to leave Earth. Yes, he did shed a few tears and had a touching moment with Jack and Olivia but choosing the mission over his family seemed like a very easy decision for him (but one can argue that this represents strength of character rather than a lack of care for those close to him).
I'd also like to add in how John and Ancient Jack's relationship seemed at times to be a lot closer than John's relationship with the human Jack, but of course we can't bring this into the discussion because that version of John sadly never made it back to Earth. But it still makes me wonder!
I'd love to hear your thoughts on all of this! I'm sure I've read far too much into this, but I just love how these little details are sprinkled all over the show and how they tie in with the larger plot.
