I. .Miss .This .Show .soooo much

I was just browsing through the other thread "Hathor, the Hottest Character Ever" and man, everything reminds me of all the good times I had with SG1 on television and the following Atlantis expedition. Everything was just lighthearted sci-fi with almost having a good ending at every episode (or so) and all the good vibes that came from all the characters.

Everything felt like a big one family that came on weekly at TV and you were part of their exploration and adventures and other goofy things they encountered or discovered or were attacked by. God I thoroughly miss so much of all of that and it's torture to see the occasional 'announcement' of some sequel that's supposedly in the works and nothing ever came back the following 3 years or so :/

Sorry for the rambling, I just don't know where to console my soul in all of this :(

Stargate and Crocodile Dundee 3

I’m sitting here watching Crocodile Dundee 3, cause it’s on TV and being an Oregon Trail Millennial, and not having seen this in ages (yeah I’m old: stay off my lawn!) to my surprise these guys pop on!

John Billingsley (Coombs)

Jay Acovone (Kawalsky)

And in the scene that Billingsley is in, the other guy really looks like Kavan Smith (Lorne), but he’s not credited (I’m sure someone smarter than me can figure it out).

Peeps from one of my favorite tv shows are also in a fun (albeit… fun) and silly movie that I haven’t seen in more than two decades.

It came out in 2001… so, I don’t even even know (I was barely 20 at the time). But I’m very amused and I thought I’d share…

Edited: I can’t spell…

Maybourne

Does anyone else love this character, or is it just me? Honestly, the episodes with him and Jack running around doing their Starsky and Hutch bits are probably some of my favorites in the entire series. The character arc Maybourne takes is profoundly well written, and its cool to see the weird little friendship he and O'Neill develop.

Hathor, the Hottest Character Ever

Hathor has to be the hottest/sexiest character in sci-fi movie/television history! Her body/physical characteristics are inherently attractive, but the character herself is also the perfect blend of sci-fi mystique with her alien/goddess nature and her need to procreate. It’s also really hot how she gives birth to the goa’uld larvae and the mystery surrounding how her reproductive system works that isn’t addressed in later episodes. Would be interesting in a future Stargate reboot if it is revealed she was still pregnant with Daniel’s offspring when she left the SGC and gave birth to a daughter who becomes the main villain of the reboot (so there would be a familial connection to Daniel) and she is torn between good and evil since her parents are Daniel and Hathor. Would be amazing if her character and/or a descendant were explored further in more media

My custom Patches and Signed card frame

I've draw the DHD on figma to print it for the background. Then 3 patches. And last but not least, a sign card of Richard Dean Anderson (signed in Marseille, France, last year). He told us that he's actually not used to sign TCG Stargate card. It's one of 3 cards from that moment. I like it !

Giving Universe another try…

I didn’t get very far into Universe the first go round cuz I found all the characters extremely unlikable. I’m enjoying it a bit more this time, although I still haven’t formed attachments to anyone.

What I really want to know is… WHY ARE THEY HAVING SEX IN OTHER PEOPLE’S BODIES?!?!?! Seems really gross, unethical, and creepy AF!

Unpopular opinion: Anyone else dislike the BC-304s?

To me the design is boxy, uninspired and they look like Battlestars at home.

I preferred the Prometheus far more, honestly. It was a bit goofy, sure. But had charm that the Daedalus completely lacked.

I've recently created an SW themed Discord RP server, and I'd like to do the same for Stargate. I'm looking for people who'd work with me to make it as cool as possible

Basically the title. In short, I'm not sure if I should start at the end of SG Universe or before with my lore, but I want to draw from all corners of Stargate with the main focus (most probably) on SGC and SG teams themselves, where our players would be able to join an SG team and then travel to other new planets (not before seen in Stargate). But I need lots of help with brainstorming this before I code everything, all the custom slash commands, etc.

Any help will be appreciated!

Thanks!

So... I have been playing around a bit with copilot and I got something rather interesting.

So... I have been playing around a bit with copilot and I got something rather interesting

Stargate Song (To the Tune of "Under the Sea")

[Intro: Daniel] Listen up, everyone! Exploring worlds, it’s the ultimate quest, Life through the Stargate is better than anything you've ever dreamed.

[Verse 1: Daniel] The universe is always stranger, In every new world we take. You dream about staying Earthside, But that is a big mistake. Just look at the stars around you, Right here in the galaxy, Such incredible things surround you, What more is you lookin' for?

[Chorus: Daniel] Through the Stargate, through the Stargate, Darling, it’s better, on alien weather, Take it from me! Back on Earth, they work all day, On these worlds, we explore and play, While we’re adventuring, full time discovering, Through the Stargate.

[Verse 2: Teal'c] Out here all the teams are happy, Just exploring the Milky Way, On Earth the people are restless, Wishing to be far away. But they stay behind in comfort, Safe from the Goa'uld's might. One day they might face danger, But we’ll be here, guarding the night.

[Chorus: Daniel, Teal'c] Through the Stargate, through the Stargate, No one can beat us, Evil defeats us on distant stars! We’re what the galaxy fears the most, Through the Stargate, we are the hosts, We got no troubles, life’s endless puzzles, Through the Stargate.

[Bridge: Carter] The wormhole it glows, The DHD shows, Coordinates locked, And away we go! The gate is the brass, The chevrons the key, The iris the shield, Defending the free!

[Chorus: Daniel, Team] Through the Stargate, through the Stargate, When the Gate opens wide, It’s journeys to me! What do they got? A lot of worlds, We got the ‘gate that never fails, Each alien race here, all in their space here, Through the Stargate. Each Goa'uld plot here, always gets caught here, Through the Stargate.

[Post-Chorus: Team] Each strange device here, Taken to nice here, That’s why it’s safer, Sending us braver. Yeah we explore here, Know what we’re for here, Through the Stargate!

Where to buy/commission standard Atlantis military costume?

Hi! I'm looking to do a crossover episode for Homestuck X Stargate (Condy and Wraith absolutely threw hands Imo but S)(e most likely managed to fight them off enough for )(er colonies.) More specifically, I'm doing a Sollux because I like the idea that all helmsman eventually got rescued/freed from slavery by the Atlantis crew which then limited Condy's expansion for why S)(e didn't use the Stargate often/at all for Earth

( 👀 It does take place around the same time (1994 for Hiveswap which S)(e would have first been aware of the Gate, as )(er reign started many eons before humans found out about the gate.)

Anyway!!

Where do I get a commissioned outfit for Stargate? Does anyone know anyone? Or does the standard one I see come in XS sizing?

I'm mostly blind so it's a difficult for me to online browse for options online especially with the new youtube update for further context.

Also if anyone goes to Homestuck Universe which does take place mainly around 1980~ for when S)(e showed up to Earth (re: Hiveswap). But pre-scratch took place around 300 years prior and that's Beforus. Trying to figure out what symbols I would use for a return address that I want to put on Sollux!

I watched every episode of Stargate and every spin off they made growing up. How would you rewatch it today?

Should I start with Episode 1, or are there certain seasons to watch together in the rewatch? How do I include all the spin offs?

Tabula Rasa

Is one of my favorite Stargate Atlantis episodes. Just rewatched it. I remember my first watch, I found it so, so scary, because if we all had an illness that caused memory loss we’d be screwed.

Anyway, love how all the characters became even more like themselves after they lost their memories. Carter, Rodney, Shepard and the doc showed their leadership skills (without even knowing who they were). Rodney kept eating, as usual. Ronan shoots Shepard with his stun gun cause he has zero patience for his memory loss bs.

Teyla, always the voice of reason, talks to people in a manner they can understand. Or fights her way out of situations that words won’t work in.

And the scene where they come back with the plant that can cure the disease is priceless. Shepard had pinned a note to Lorne’s pocket, explaining he was his boss-knowing that Lorne wouldn’t remember. Rodney aerates the plant and they live to fight another day.

Atlantis s01e10 The Storm (1)

I'd kinda forgotten how early on the Genii were introduced, and this fantastic little arc

I also had kind of forgotten how Zelenka was kind of an afterthought, but after a couple of quick appearances became a really common contributor

Sword Battle in 9x20 Camelot

SG1's "Camelot" 9x20 has definitely one of the most epic space battles in televised Sci Fi. Of course watching Mitchell get his butt kicked by the Black Knight was epic as well.

In the episode, they do such a great job setting up the young woman in her own sword fighting capabilities "to help her brother train" even though she is expressing doubts about fighting herself. When she pulled the sword from the stone, she should've been the one to engage the Black Knight in battle and save Mitchell's ass. It would've been great to see given how much they built her up as a character and the role of Arthur/ Merlin and the "curse" had over the village culture.

Once again, there is no curse. It's just technology, there is NO MAGI *beams away*.

What if the new Stargate show was a parallel universe, with legacy characters kicking it off.

Kick it off with Cam, Teal’c, Sam, and Jackson jumping through the Stargate, chasing some random McGuffin. Because we have seen parallel universes and time travel before, it’s is totally plausible that this jump takes them from their 2010’s to “our” 2024 timeline.

But, in this timeline the Stargate was just uncovered. No one has been able to turn it on. It’s under military control, sitting in a random lab. Swoosh, our three SG1 heroes coming a portalin’ through. Military debriefing, more talk of the the McGuffin, but more importantly:

No one in this universe is aware of the Goa’uld. The system lords have forgotten about Earth and there is a universe of bad guys out there. Then the Earth SG1 members each find out their counterparts in this universe all died years ago in random circumstances. More importantly, Daniel Jackson died in a car crash on his way to Cheyenne Mountain in 1994. The Stargate program never happened.

Somehow SG1 convinces the current US administration and military of the danger of the Stargate, surmising that some system lord became aware of the Taur’i gate being awoken. SG1 begins training and briefing the US military to prepare for the system lord attack, while trying to figure out how to jump back to their own timeline.

The team works furiously to try to teach scientists, researchers, and military commanders all what they learned for the 20+ years they were in Stargate Command.

In the end SG1 saves the day and is ready to jump home. Before they leave Daniel hands off a portable hard drive to the new SG1 commander, full of intelligence they need to save Earth. The new Stargate Command is activated and the new SG teams get down to work.

The new Stargate show can use familiar or even unfamiliar villains and allies. It’s not a reboot, it’s a parallel timeline that was 30 years behind all the other timelines. We get to see how Stargate Command would work in today’s political and religious climate. It would also pay homage to the original show(s) by having the SG1 command referencing mission logs, much like how Rodney would research the Ancients texts to learn how to fight the Wraith.

In some cases, an experience with a system lord may be totally different than what we are used to. It gives opportunity to take new journeys on paths that we once thought were familiar.

Yeah, it may be hokey and somewhat of a trope, but this would be a fun way to get Stargate back.
