One of my favorites is why Legion was able to remove Lister's appendix when in Thanks For The Memory, it's made clear that he already lost it. Common explanation is that when he was turned into chicken and then a hamster in DNA, his reformation back to human also restored his appendix.

Or the temporary change in timeline in Timestamps being responsible for several retcons.

So I was inspired by the last post about what Red Dwarfs mission was and decided to calculate the distance travelled at the start of the series.

Now we know that the ship was speeding up so this figure is likely out by a large margin. That being said, if they were traveling at a constant speed:

• Earth to Titan took 18 months, 1.2 billion kilometers which means they were traveling at approx 91, 240 km/hr

Assuming this speed, that equates to approx 800 million km/yr

Over 3 Million years, that means the ship has travelled 2.4 quadrillion km, (2.4 x 10 to the power of 15)

The nearest galaxy to us is the Canis Major Dwarf galaxy which is 236,000,000,000,000,000km away which is 100 times the distance I calculated.

In the first series Lister says how he regrets never asking Koscanchi out but in season 8 it turns out used to date. Was this a plot hole, retcon or just an oversight by the writers?

I'd love to do a mockumentary based on working for the JMC. This is mainly because I'm watching Abbott Elementary and Chris Perfetti reminds me so much of Rimmer. Anyway, if I were to do it it would be like:
Lister & Kochanski have the obvious Jim & Pam "will they won't they" (or more accurately, when will they finally?)
Rimmer would be a mix between Michael Scott and Dwight.
Captain Hollister would be the long suffering David Wallace.
I can't think of a role that Cat and Kryten in this timeline so along with what type of shows you'd set in the Dwarfiverse how would you incorporate Cat and Kryten into a JMC Mockimentary

So who was painting the ship in the opening credits of the early series? It did look bit like Craig, anyone know for sure?
