I’m searching for a complete collection of the comics preferably digitally scanned as I’m not a fan of paying for 10 year old media over the internet I’ve been searching for it online but dark horse scrubbed all the pages and it seems no one archived it beforehand

This show was like the perfect popcorn flick. Then it just got so weird. I really think this show would have become a cult classic.

I just rewatched the entire show on Max. The very last episode had to wrap things up but of course left me wanting more.

So if I may ask what other shows like this are out there to binge?

I find so many similarities one being that it's an apocalyptic based TV show two being they are trying to fight againts a greater evil twd greater evil being zombies and FS being Aliens. We have them also from FS finding a bunch of camps that they dont see fit for them. Same as twd also similar is the fact that every camp they go to trouble always follow them Of course like twd. So many Similarities. Lol and for me pope was my shane from twd. Both deaths pissed me off🤣 The way they died didn't seem fit to me.

I originally watched Falling Skies when it first released. Season 1-3 were great, but by episode 4 of S4 I had completely dropped off.

I recently found it was streaming on Max. So, I decided to give it a complete rewatch.

Outside of season 4 which had 0 redeeming qualities, the series is actually great. S1-3 still hold up and I honest thought S5 was a really strong (though admittedly too convenient) of a season.

Outside of maybe Ben, I thought every character had a logical arch. And Pope's descent to utterly despair really added some drama for a bit - I was hopeling he would get a redemption arc - but the way it played out made a lot more sense.

It's too bad the series is largely known for its lowest season than it's best.

Just finished the last Episode of FS and it was ok but the way they treated popes character suck. Right when pope found love and something to live for they refuse to help save her. Thats not the worst part but after her death pope walks in being an azz hole like as usual but this time its Justifiable and everyone sits there and act as if he had no right to be angry. Literally right after her death they didnt try and comfert or talk to him like that did the others they just went back to planning so i could see why he was pissed.

Just that. How would he actually know that? And how can we trust that Pope isn't just making stuff up or exaggerating here?

Just tried rewatching Falling Skies on Max. It’s been a while, but the episodes seem to be VERY mixed up. Is it just me? Do I remember it wrong? Do I need to contact someone?

Are the episodes mixed up on Max? I don’t remember them being like this and I REALLY want to revisit the series.

On my first rewatch (I originally watched each episode on TNT when it first aired).

Recently saw the episode with Lexi and Tom taking out the power source on the moon.

Kind of a big plot hole:

1. Why couldn’t the Volm have blown up the moon base?

Their ships were able to take out all those beamers and provide cover for Lexi and Tom.

2. Alternatively, why couldn’t Lexi have just controlled the main ship with her powers from the smaller beamer and survived with Tom?

For # 1, I know the Volm have kind of abandoned Earth as a lost cause, up until Cochise calls his dad to return. Still doesn’t explain it.

For # 2, Lexi mentions she needs gravity and the vacuum of space doesn’t provide. But they do mention “maybe” she could use the moon’s gravity.

IDK, bothered me when I first watched this and got some plot hole Deja vu

So the 2nd Mass think of the Espheni species as Eusocial (one character compare the Espheni to Ants and Bees) where one Female (Queen) reproduces and the Workers (Overlords) do her bidding. But let me put forward a theory, it’s not that at all, the Overlords and the Espheni are not the same species and the Overlords are an enslaved species, possibly the first ones to be enslaved. My reasoning is that the Overlords and the Queen have nothing in common physically, I know sexual dimorphism can get pretty wild sometimes but you can see both sexes and see some resemblance, but the Overlords and the Queen are nothing alike, Overlords are tall, slim humanoids while the Queen is a giant alien spider. My thinking is that there were those like the Queen but both sexes. Many millennia ago, the Espheni (Queen’s species) was a small empire, they came across a planet that would be great for colonisation, but they found sapient life there, a tall gracile humanoid species that evolved from fish-like organisms, the Overlord species. Originally the Espheni thought nothing of them, they were primitive, barely past Iron Age level, until they found potential. The Overlords had insanely advanced memory abilities, an elderly Overlord could remember the day of their hatching with clear precision. The Espheni took the opportunity to introduce themselves. Using information provided by their drones, the Espheni came down to the planet and claimed to be divine, the overlords began to worship the Espheni. Overlords were brought onto Espheni ships and off world colonies to be educated into the ways of the Espheni, they were also rendered submissive when in contact with Espheni pheromones, the Espheni used nano bots to trigger the same response when away from an Espheni, along with providing a leash where if the Espheni an Overlord is serving is killed they die as well, all of this to ensure that the Overlords don’t rebel. Thousands of years later, the Overlords had become well established slaves of the Espheni, used as living data banks. The Espheni empire also came across another race, the Dornia, the Espheni took no time in enslaving them, using the same nano bots but this time the results were different, the Dornia that were infected became obedient but grotesque mutants, the Skitters. About 1% of the Dornian population managed to flee, plotting their revenge, they found the Espheni were vulnerable to a kind of virus on their homeworld, originally it wasn’t fatal, but the refugee Dornia managed to modify it into a deadly strain. When the time was right the Dornia arrived on the Espheni homeworld and released the virus, trillions perished within a day, but the Dornia didn’t stop there, they went to every Espheni ruled planet and did the same, it was a long battle but the Dornia had won, some Espheni and their subjects managed to escape but all but one were intercepted, the only ship left had managed to sneak far enough way while the others were being dealt with. This ship containing two Espheni females (Mother and Daughter), 1000 Overlord males and 2000 Skitters ventured out into deep space, cloning tech allowed the Overlord and Skitter numbers to be replenished but it was more resource consuming, they managed to find another Galaxy (ours) and went from planet to planet to gather resources and grow the Overlord and Skitter numbers. The two Espheni are the Queen and her daughter.

Ok so basically the overlords are scared of these aliens coming to kill them all, but it turns out to be only one being in one spaceship that doesn’t actually kill any overlords just helps Tom mason. What are they scared of? Was that the big alien reveal? The force that was “greater than you could imagine” was one being in one small ship?

Great series (so far), but I do have a few gripes...

1. The cheesy background music is prominent throughout each and every episode, and it's exhausting. There are very few scenes that don't have any music at all.

2. Why did they reuse the Jurassic Park velociraptor vocalizations for the skidders? For the love of all that is holy, why???

3. The level of religious belief displayed by Lourdes, makes me absolutely sick to my stomach.

Aside from that, great show! Thoughts?

My brother was obsessed with this show when it first aired but I never watched it until now! I’m on season 2 and I love it so much! Tom gives such huge John Connor vibes from Terminator :3 also Ben and Hal are just too cute 😍

Idk. At first, I thought she was a bit rude, but now that she's been taken, I miss her, lol, and I have no idea why. I'm also surprised at how fast Lourdes pursued Hal (Tom's son). Cause she's been a little "too friendly" to HAl since day 1. But I thought she'd take a break to let him grieve. Am I going to like Lourdes later on?

Also pls don't spoil anything. Don't wanna find out if Karen is dead or alive. Just no spoilers.

Season 3 episode 2. When Tec said to pope the volm are freedom fighters, like the contras… out of every fighting group you pick the contras? I know this show was from 2010s but come on, this is basic history lmao, the contras are not good looking back on the conflict.

I never heard of this show and it predates the era of big budget streaming shows, B cast, B director, B producers low budget etc. But for some reason it's just really fucking good. One of the best shows I've seen in a while.

Or am I just super biased being a veteran with a history degree with a focus on and passion for the American Revolution lol. It's almost like this show was made for me. I have also been living in Charleston my whole life. I considered being a history professor myself too.

Falling Skies is one of the shows on my TV list but the reviews on imdb give me mix feelings about if I should watch it. Without spoiler, what's the pros and cons about the show? I've read that many people think season 4 and 5 is bad cause if it is then I don't even wanna start it.

I really, really, really love the actors.
If the plot were a 2-ton truck, solid but clunky, then the actors are the ones pushing it through the field of muck and mud that's the writing. I really should be watching this shit high.

How much actual time passes between her birth and Shoot the Moon? Trying to work out her development in human terms.

I can't really think of any other characters I hate more then Lexi (and I guess Ann too from season 4 and on...). I don't mean hate in terms of villian or anything like that.

Lexi is a character and storyline that is nonsensical, predictable, and poorly written. The show would've been so much better without her in it. Didn't the Masons have enough characters lol. The whole hybrid thing has already been done in other shows and to such a higher level of execution. For example, with Battlestar Galactica.

I'm rewatching the show; currently on season 4 right now, and it feels like a chore to get through each episode. Where I binged through s1-3 and was excited for the next episode, season 4 after the camps, just nosedives in quality of writing and to me, the focus on the Lexi storyline was the wrong direction to go into. What a waste of potential.

I thought I recognized the actor who played Hal from somewhere. Apparently he's Griffin from iCarly.

Why does Anne tell Pope that the only person Tom cares about is his boys when Anthony and him corner her were going to kill her?
