So I have a really old PS3 i've had for years and years. It has a 120GB (I think) HDD and it's starting to fail. I happen to have a brand new 1TB HDD that would fit perfectly, but I run unto an issue.

There's a whole bunch of games installed. Most of them was bought with an account I have since lost access to with no way to recover. Is there any way to copy these games to the new HDD, or am I just going to have to lose them?

I saw one video talking about an app called minimon that does not seemto be available.

And a final thing, would you rather install a small SSD or a big HDD? Will a PS3 get much speed boost from an SSD?

I just redownloaded this game today and I was instantly hooked. I played Yu-Gi-Oh a lot during this era, the mid Zexal era, and playing this game has been perfect for me as I wanted to scratch that itch again without having to adjust to the modern version of the game. If anyone has the game or is willing to get it, I'd be down to play with you. My deck is still simple as I need to grind more, but I'm willing to try play with anyone if giving the chance. I just re-purchased a PS3 Slim and I love the music of the Photo Album application so I downloaded an MP3 and copied it to the PS3 but it doesn't seem that I have the option to set custom Main Menu music. Is there a way to do this?

Just picked up a backward compatible ps3 console. PS1 and ps3 games load up fine. ps2 load up. They work in a ps2 so I know its not the games. Why do some ps2 games work and some dont and is there a fix for this?

I recently opened up my pre-owned PS3 Slim for re-pasting and saw this cxd9963gb chip on the board to be a little discoloured. Will this be a major concern in the future?. The console works fine at the moment. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks. 🙏

So in the past week or so my ps3 as become agonizingly slow and if not that just freezing up in some tasks that previously while yes would have a load. Also games are starting to have the audio clip or not have certain assets load in all of the way. I have replaced the HDD and fully formatted everything and the problem persists. I Have a PS3 Slim that ive had for about 8-9 years

I recently bought and modded a ps3 with multiman and was trying to use a external HHD to store games but it wasnt working. I tried both ntfs with the isos in a PS3ISO folder and fat32 with the game folders in a GAMES folder, and they both would show up in multiman but would boot back to the home menu.

Would I need webman or is something else wrong?

As the title implies, when I had my CECHC02 60GB PS3, it was dying from severe neglect (not by me, but the previous owner; I think it was left outside). It’s long gone now, with all usable parts being put towards more salvageable examples. Hahaha.

The thing that baffles me about this console are the Get, Put, Ref, Pre and Post lines of code that appear on the top left. I’ve never seen it on another PS3 since, so I’m going to assume that the connection for the RSX was barely hanging on and/or the die was deformed.

It eventually died from GLOD and general hardware failure (no video signal and no operation of the fan).

Keep in mind this was in 2017, so there may be details I have missed

I was cleaning my PS3 super slim and i accidentally pulled the power button connector off the motherboard. Any advice for the best way to fix this? Can I just soldier a generic switch to the pads?

Hello, I live in japan and in a local second hand store they are selling a boxed cecha00. Comes with controller, av cable, power cable and the unit itself. the description says that it is confirmed to turn on and work but it has a problem when inserting a disc. It is selling for 9900 yen. (around 65 dollars).

What do you think that it could be the problem of inserting a disc? bad lens? something trapped inside the console?

Is it worth buying and trying to fix it?

so i was messing around 2 days ago on my ps3 and tried connecting to a media server, didnt work and i forgot about it, later today i find out my ps3 somehow ocnnected to one in both photo, music, and video. and its called "FollowTVServer blaa bla bla numbers DF:B1: bla bla bla more numbers:B" so i decided to look at the info, its made By ACCESS CO., LTD. so i decided to google it up, its a japanese company so i decided to look into it, saw four files, Music, Photo, storage, Video, storage was fully empty but everything else had more folders, my ps3 gave me a media error, i just want to know why and how my ps3 connected to this and what it is

Everytime I log into the psnetwork while successfully login into my account once the store app runs it disconnects me and kicks me out. I alreadychave 2 way authentication and device password. Help please?
