How will i know the vita can connect to wifi
can i download games on to the vita if i purchase them digitally on a ps3
can the vita work stand alone without any wifi connection or connection to a console
Hi I just recently bought ps vita slim from Japan and when I open PSN I get the "An error has occurred (NP-2243-1)"
I tried upgrading it from 3.15 to 3.74, turned it on and off a couple of times (does it count as a restart?) and nothing changed. Does this mean it was hacked before or something is wrong with the system?
Also it has black lockscreen although it's white and light blue console. Is it normal? Black vitas have black lockscreen, white/blue vitas have blue lockscreen etc or am I mistaken?
Thank you in advance

I bought a PS Vita because I missed out on it and the PSP when they came out. After ordering an OLED one that I found new online, I'm getting a little disappointed. I love that I can play a lot of PS1 classics on the vita like Xenogears, Vagrant Story, and Parasite Eve 2.
But outside of that... I haven't found much use for it. I have the Armored Core exclusives downloaded, and Soul Sacrifice Delta and Dissidia 012. But after I beat those, what games can I play that I can't just get a superior remastered or upgraded port of on my PS2, PS5, or on my PC?
I kind of feel the same way that I do about my PS5 PRO that I barely touch. Outside of 1 or 2 decent TRUE exclusives, I can't find much of a reason of why I own this. Everything on the PS5 I can pay on my PC at a higher frame rate with better graphics and a mouse and keyboard. Are there any PSP or PS VITA exclusives that are absolute gems that I'm missing out on that I can't just play on a better system? Every time I Google it, I get the same 5 or 6 suggestions. Is the library really this small? When the PSP came out, console exclusives were still pretty big. I'm kind of shocked to be honest.
I want to replace the shell of my vita because it's pretty beat up (also I want to change the color lol) but the only replacement parts I see are from Chinese brands/ off brand. I don't want to buy a vita just to skin it, so are the off brand ones fine to use (and replacement buttons)? Also is it hard? Specially changing out the back side, cause of the touch pad. I haven't found any tutorials for that. Or should I just give up and buy a new one? Idk.
Hey I'm trying to redownload some DLCs on my PS TV but this error (and NP-9948-2 I think once?) keeps popping up, is it only me? Europe here if that matters
Update: now the password management website isn't working either for me, could it be a server issue?
Hello everyone, I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I’m wondering if there is ANY way to hook up a Bluetooth microphone to the PSTV and still have my game audio come through the hdmi. My predicament is that I’m streaming from the console and still want to be able to chat with people playing vita games online, but when I hook up a Bluetooth headset to it, all audio goes to the headset and not through the hdmi, thus rendering my stream silent. I know there’s no way in the settings to split the audio, but I was wondering if there is another Bluetooth products that only shoots microphone information to the console while keeping the game audio coming out of the hdmi?
My PSN is ssa17k
I been trying to beat cell on battle of z but my cpu teams are the most unless cpu I delt with a game.
Was looking to buy a copy of Final Fantasy X that has been unopened online, I saw that X-2 requires a download code to get it. Will the code still work or have the codes expired by now?
I remember there were a lot of monogames and you did things as stirring in Soul and these small characters gave you things to so. I think it was just a demo game or something
Hello, I had posted here a few months ago regarding an issue where my vita would have a solid orange light when plugged in before disappearing but still wouldn't turn on.
I replaced the battery a few days ago, tried charging it but there was no orange light. I figured that the battery was depleted but there's still no signs of life even after charging for two days. I tried reconnecting the battery, trying a bunch of button combinations but alas nothing worked and now I'm out of ideas. Can anyone help me out?
Hi, can anyone help?
I really want to download this game especially the trilogy. However it's only on the Japanese store and unsure whether it's in english. Does anyone know if it is or how to download it with English through the vita.
I don't have access to a computer. Thanks
I know i installed it but I can't remember where it fell out when I picked up the console to put on the back plate. Vita slim
Played this back in 2023 and enjoyed the combat, graphics and the game in general. Saw people talking about it recently and decided it was time to come back for Round Two 😏
This weekly thread is designed to be a place for all the new members of the subreddit and Vita community to come and say hello as well as where they (or vets) can ask any question they might have (no matter how redundant or simple). So, say "Hi", ask away, and welcome to /r/Vita!
We get these questions a lot, so we're incorporating them into this thread. Have something you feel fits here? Shoot us a modmail!
Is the Vita worth buying in (current year)?
Value is ultimately subjective. If you like the library of games on the Vita and have the money, probably. If you want new, modern games then probably not. If you have specific questions about the Vita's capabilities feel free to ask in this thread, but keep in mind you're asking in a Vita-centric community and will likely get mostly affirmative responses.
Is the PlayStation store shutting down?
No. Sony did announce they were closing the Vita storefront in 2021, but later reversed that decision. It is possible that the store will be shut down at some point in the future, but no specific dates/timeframes are known.
Can I still buy games from the PlayStation store?
Yes. However, you will need to have funds in your wallet for the purchase. You can add funds to your wallet via web, PS4, or PS5. More information is available here.
I'm having trouble signing into my Vita! Help!
As of the 3.74 update in May 2022, you need a device password to sign in to your Vita. You can do that here. Please make sure you are on firmware 3.74 and using a device password before making a thread.
My Vita is in an error loop with the QR code on sign-in. What should I do?
This happens sometimes, and nobody's really sure why. However, community member LoganN64 has been able to provide instructions that consistently work for getting through this:
Log in to the PSN website with a Laptop or Desktop computer.
Click on your avatar in the top right corner and go to SETTINGS.
Scroll down to SECURITY and then scroll down to ACTIVATE/TURN ON 2 FACTOR AUTHENTICATION.
Click on GENERATE NEW DEVICE CODE, write this down exactly as it is case sensitive.
Go to your Vita and bring up the sign in page, enter the email associated with your account then enter the NEW DEVICE CODE as your password. Click on save password to avoid getting a new code each time..
I'm no longer able to transfer files from PS3 to Vita. What's happening?
This feature was disabled in May 2022. You can read PlayStation's update about it here. No workarounds are currently known.
Where can I buy a Vita?
Vita production ceased in 2019 so consoles can be hard to come by, especially new. eBay is the most prominent location, but Facebook marketplace, Kijiji, Craigslist, /r/GameSale, and equivalent marketplaces are your friend.
How much is (X) worth? Is (X) a good deal?
You can search sold eBay listings here to get a sense of value. VGPC is another source of this kind of information.
Will (Game) ever go on sale?
As of 2020, Sony has disabled developers' ability to put Vita games on sale. So in all likelihood, no.
The workaround and exception for this rule is that cross-buy games can still be put on sale for the PS4, and cross-buy items will still grant the Vita version (where applicable).
Should I buy an OLED ("Phat") or Slim Vita?
Neither are bad options. The Slim has 1GB of on-board memory, a more standard charging port, slightly better battery life, and is lighter. The Phat has a better screen. It's up to you on what you value more.
Where can I buy replacement Vita parts?
AliExpress and eBay are currently the best sources of Vita replacement parts.
Are Vita consoles region-free?
Yes. A Vita can play a physical game from any region. The digital storefront you can access is determined by the region of your PSN account, and not the region of the console. For example, a Vita from Japan will be able to play any physical game, and if you sign in with a US PSN account you'll be able to access the US PSN storefront.
Vita consoles from Asian regions have the X/O button swapped in the OS ("bubbles") screen, but in-game functionality retains X-to-confirm functionality for almost all games.
It has been reported that consoles intended for China have more stringent region-locking, but these are not commonly found and this is unlikely to affect you.

Hello i'm from the Philippines. Guys does anyone experience buying ps vita on Ebay to Philippines here? How's the experience and how fast it to deliver to our country?. Planning on buying there cause i heard of prestine good condition and in box also.
Hey guys I have a question, I’m looking for a OLED screen to replace my old vitas screen which has sun damage /burn in! But I see that lots of screens on AliExpress mention their screens as “OLED LCD” in this case I’m guessing it’s not OLED but actually LCD screen! Does anyone know where I can get a OLED display? Doesn’t has to be refurbished or original as long as it is a OLED!
I recently bought a vita 2000 and everything is working perfectly but the built in mic, ive tried the welcome park and recording a video but nothing works, only thing i hear in the videos is just a "shhhhh" noise if that makes sense, and if i use a headset or something it works, so its really the mic, so i was wondering if there could be any fix for it or if its possible to replace it, i would appreciate any help, thanks
(Ps Vita not clamping shut, shown above)
Just as the title says. I had recently got a new PS vita screen replacement for my 2000 slim. I had installed it and it works! But the back doesn't seem to want to snap in correctly, and the screws I put in (my original PS vita 2000 screws) are popping out in some places. Plus, the buttons seem to be receeding into the shell. I have a feeling that I have to disassemble it completely and put it back together again which I have no problem with. Honestly, this is my first time with any sort of hardware fixing and I feel like I didn't do such a good job on it...
Anyone know how to fix these problems? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Hello everyone. Can you recommend the battery pack for Ps Vita slim 2000? My native has been holding a charge poorly since 2015.
