I live in the US & heard getting them imported from japan is best but have 0 clue about what websites could have them for the best price. it doesn’t have to be from japan, as long as it isn’t visibly worn out!
Title.
Spectacular game. I've played this on PC before and I wanted to give it a try on Vita. There were small frame slowdowns during fast races but it was playable.
I bought a brand new PS TV and I dont want to unseal this box so does anyone know what is in it? I am curious.
This weekly thread is designed to be a place for all the new members of the subreddit and Vita community to come and say hello as well as where they (or vets) can ask any question they might have (no matter how redundant or simple). So, say "Hi", ask away, and welcome to /r/Vita!
We get these questions a lot, so we're incorporating them into this thread. Have something you feel fits here? Shoot us a modmail!
Is the Vita worth buying in (current year)?
Value is ultimately subjective. If you like the library of games on the Vita and have the money, probably. If you want new, modern games then probably not. If you have specific questions about the Vita's capabilities feel free to ask in this thread, but keep in mind you're asking in a Vita-centric community and will likely get mostly affirmative responses.
Is the PlayStation store shutting down?
No. Sony did announce they were closing the Vita storefront in 2021, but later reversed that decision. It is possible that the store will be shut down at some point in the future, but no specific dates/timeframes are known.
Can I still buy games from the PlayStation store?
Yes. However, you will need to have funds in your wallet for the purchase. You can add funds to your wallet via web, PS4, or PS5. More information is available here.
I'm having trouble signing into my Vita! Help!
As of the 3.74 update in May 2022, you need a device password to sign in to your Vita. You can do that here. Please make sure you are on firmware 3.74 and using a device password before making a thread.
My Vita is in an error loop with the QR code on sign-in. What should I do?
This happens sometimes, and nobody's really sure why. However, community member LoganN64 has been able to provide instructions that consistently work for getting through this:
Log in to the PSN website with a Laptop or Desktop computer.
Click on your avatar in the top right corner and go to SETTINGS.
Scroll down to SECURITY and then scroll down to ACTIVATE/TURN ON 2 FACTOR AUTHENTICATION.
Click on GENERATE NEW DEVICE CODE, write this down exactly as it is case sensitive.
Go to your Vita and bring up the sign in page, enter the email associated with your account then enter the NEW DEVICE CODE as your password. Click on save password to avoid getting a new code each time..
I'm no longer able to transfer files from PS3 to Vita. What's happening?
This feature was disabled in May 2022. You can read PlayStation's update about it here. No workarounds are currently known.
Where can I buy a Vita?
Vita production ceased in 2019 so consoles can be hard to come by, especially new. eBay is the most prominent location, but Facebook marketplace, Kijiji, Craigslist, /r/GameSale, and equivalent marketplaces are your friend.
How much is (X) worth? Is (X) a good deal?
You can search sold eBay listings here to get a sense of value. VGPC is another source of this kind of information.
Will (Game) ever go on sale?
As of 2020, Sony has disabled developers' ability to put Vita games on sale. So in all likelihood, no.
The workaround and exception for this rule is that cross-buy games can still be put on sale for the PS4, and cross-buy items will still grant the Vita version (where applicable).
Should I buy an OLED ("Phat") or Slim Vita?
Neither are bad options. The Slim has 1GB of on-board memory, a more standard charging port, slightly better battery life, and is lighter. The Phat has a better screen. It's up to you on what you value more.
Where can I buy replacement Vita parts?
AliExpress and eBay are currently the best sources of Vita replacement parts.
Are Vita consoles region-free?
Yes. A Vita can play a physical game from any region. The digital storefront you can access is determined by the region of your PSN account, and not the region of the console. For example, a Vita from Japan will be able to play any physical game, and if you sign in with a US PSN account you'll be able to access the US PSN storefront.
Vita consoles from Asian regions have the X/O button swapped in the OS ("bubbles") screen, but in-game functionality retains X-to-confirm functionality for almost all games.
It has been reported that consoles intended for China have more stringent region-locking, but these are not commonly found and this is unlikely to affect you.
I'd like some game recommendations!

Ok, i got this error a few minutes ago. So I decided to come Here to possibly help anyone who might Of gotten this error.
now my solution was so dumb simple, that Your grandpa did it first. I simply powered off and turned on my vita again.
Now the cause is unknown really As to why in the fudge my vita did that. But it scared me to death for some reason! It’s known as the, quote: (from another post)
“The Vita killer error.”
Now that scared me partly to death reading it. and now im here. If you professional vita detectives would like to help me figure out why in the world my vita did this. Id be more than happy!!
Should I be concerned? It was normal an hour ago.
Finally got around to playing it and the races themselves are outstanding. Pity there are only 3 tracks.

Hi! I came to my parents' house to spend the weekend and wanted to check on my dear Vita. It still works, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to connect it to WiFi. I try to connect it to our WiFi but it just doesn't show up on screen (check the picture). I tried the same with my phone, with 2,5GHz as I've read here, but I can't make it work. How can I correct this? And/or is there a chance to connect it differently? Using a Laptop maybe? Let me know please. Thanks for your time!
So I want a PS Vita. However I have a hard time picking games I'd like because most games have been ported already. Like Persona 4. What's your favorite vita game? I'll pretty much play anything and I mean that literally. The only genres I won't are like shooters like call of duty. I love JRPGs, Action Adventure, FPS like Fallout. I even would like to try move visual novels. Thanks in advance!
Edit: Thanks everyone for the suggestions! I'm going to go through them and pick out the ones I think I'd like!
Seems we just need to add each other, create a party, and then we can do a 1v1 private match to get it.
Thanks in advance!
Sorry in advance for my english. it's not my primary language.
Hey guys, i was lucky enough to rip off a 30 bucks vita with missing charging port. Previous owner claimed that after installing it back everything should be fine, but... for me main 5v line was dead, usb connection is dead, but it's irrelevant here.
A little guide how to replace useless mystery port with a morern usb-c
Don't mind thick colored wires, a was planning on soldering them directly to solder points, but connection turned out to be too fragile, so i cut them off and replaced them with thinner copper wires, colored ones made it easier to identify which is which though. I used more thick wires for power lines and thinner for data wires.
You can use any USB-C port, until it's 4+ pins and has no resistors on it. The smaller - the better
Had to clip, grind and split the board, ripping off half if the layers, otherwise the case wouldn't shut completely
Inner housing and top port cover had to be trimmed as well, because even after working on it, new port slightly sticks out of the chasiss
For all of those who have perfectly working vitas, this should work just fine, including data transfering via usb
NOTE 1: This mod allows to use only USB-C <-> USB-A cables, USB-C <-> USB-C won't work here.
I tried adding 5.1k Ohm resistors for both + and -, but with that charging stops working at all.
I assume it is possible that with working main 5V line and installed resistors usb-c - usb-c cables might work, but i can't test it
NOTE 2: As long as there are 2 charging ports, you sould only use one at a time, using 2 port at the same time might damage your console
NOTE 3: You can solder either to left or right fuse, doesn't really matter, i guess soldering to backup one may just be safer cause you will use main one less and it'll live longer that way
NOTE 4: Why not just replace an original port with usb-c? Well, for example, i have a dockign station for vita with og port, also mystery port has never been used by any accessory, so why keep it?
NOTE 5: All this was done using a microscope, but i guess i can be done without one
Love or hate Gravity Rush (I like it) but that game can only be played handheld through the Vita. I'm still amazed by how the Vita is still competitive these days even with the Switches, Anbernics and Retroids around. What other Vita games prove the Vita is still worth having today?
add me slatch_7
I rediscovered my PS Vita 2000 and thought I'd try playing Minecraft. I put the card in but the PS Vita keeps saying "could not install" and "an error has occurred". And when I wanted to download games from the store it kept saying "an error has occurred". I'm connected to the WiFi and the PS Vita is on the latest update. Does anyone have any idea?
The right analog stick on my Vita is completely unusable at the minute. I have been looking at just getting a new Vita but was wondering how easy people think it is to repair it myself? And if the parts are easy to get hold of? (I’m in the U.K. for reference). Also; I have somehow turned the input from the right analog stick off and for the life of me I can’t remember how. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks for any help or advice.
I wanted to buy the Hori Privacy Case but now I’m unsure scared to scratch my vita.
Does somebody play this game these days? I also need the online trophy :)
Hello /r/Vita and welcome to game night's new format! Every other Monday is now a night dedicated to one of our console's favorite online games - Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed! No fun alliteration for this one, because we're not creative enough! :]

As per the tile. I'm using a ps vita tv and still love it. I have a ps4 controller for it I've been using for years. Well... here we go. The controller left analog stick started to drift very slightly but noticeably and enough to impact gameplay. But looking at gamepad tester, it's so small that I think I'd be able to manage with a small dead zone. Is there a way to set one up for ps vita/ps vita tv?
Thank you all!
I always forget how fun yet equally frustrating OG Ratchet and Clank can be.
