Slade/Deathstroke is a gun for hire blah blah blah.... we all now him by now. I wanna ask why doesn't people just hire him to kill other villains. He has fought with the most famous heroes already like Superman, Batman, Wonder Women etc etc you get the point. He literally tried to kill Lois in front of Superman to test his resolve, why you must ask? Because Amanda Waller said so. My man has balls of nth metal man.
Anyways my point is if he can be hired to kill other heroes why can't the opposite be true. Why doesn't the government just hire him to kill The Penguin or something idk. I think it will look cool though, might be just be eh? What do you think about?? (THESE ARE MY THOUGHTS ONLY)
I have been reading through all of the fourth world stuff and I already know some of the major spoilers that happen to the new gods in the early 2000s.
However I wanna know. Are the new gods agnostic from the universe changes? Are the current new gods reincarnations? Or just different versions? If so are all of Kirby’s new gods characters currently dead or in their own universe
I nearly never watched or read any superhero movies or comics besides 2 batman movies and now i wanted to read a comic.
Priest's run is a masterpiece in my eyes, so how does Wolfman's run compare and is it good?
imagine a Superman who grafts synthetic cells capable of generating ultraviolet energy directly inside his body, he should no longer depend on the sun, do you think it would be plausible?
I've wanted to buy the omnibus for a while but its been out of print for a lot of time.
I've seen these takes before, people calling Hawkman/Carter toxic and a stalker because of the whole reincarnation romance with Hawkwoman.
Do people take the whole reincarnation romance out context and making it sound worse than it actually is?
Or is this a case of the wider perception of Hawkman being too influenced by the DCAU and Arrowverse depictions of him which was a more negative portrayal of him?
Spoiler:
I was shocked when I saw Geoff Johns in the middle of the war and the action building up for Blackest Night, the event that is even more powerful and darker. I mean, we hadn’t even defeated Sinestro yet, and you’re already motivating us for an even greater event! I love Geoff Johns so much, and I really enjoyed the run. I’m very excited to read Blackest Night and will definitely continue with it.
Tell me your opinions, but without spoilers, please.
Cant find a good one enough 😭 i need to show it to my hairdresser. I meant from some Batman comic in the batman animated series style, idk what its called
I want to read lgbt dc comics any reccomendations
Everyday I will ask for one story which is among the best DC stories.
The only rule is it should be published by DC.
The combined upvotes from each comment telling the name of the story will be counted, and whichever comic has the most combined upvotes will make it into the list.
Hey there honorary Justice League members - it’s a new week which means it’s time for a new discussion thread!
For those who don't know: the way this works is that several comments will list this week’s releases, for any given title discussion you should respond to that comment. For example, Wonder Woman discussion would go in the replies to the "Wonder Woman" comment. Clicking the titles in this post will take you directly to that comment, too. In other words, you should only be replying to other comments. Do not post top-level comments.
Keep discussion civil. Do not harass other users for having a different opinion. Do not use this thread to push your personal one-sided grudges against creators. Reacting to a panel on Twitter is not the same as reading a book.

Finally and slowly getting into the comics after mainly show watching and fic reading. Is the DC universe website reliable in terms of searching for specific character runs? Like when I search in the search bar: "Bart Allen" it'll show the obvious like the Impulse series and some flash runs and young justice but it'll also show random comics that ran way before Bart was ever introduced. According to wiki he was first debuted in 1994 but when you search his name, it'll show comics like Plastic Man 43'-56' or Kamandi the last boy on earth from 72'-76'. Why?
My second question is, do people even use this site for comic reading? To read some of the older series it'll run you 120 dollars in a yearly subscription for Ultra... I feel like there's gotta be some other way. Kindle maybe?
I seen some at my comic shop (the gooner variants), didn’t get to start reading the first page or anything. One main thing I noticed it was the 72’ed issue, and thought “it had to be good for it to be 72 issues right?”.
Mabye it was all the gooners that carried the series this far I’m not sure. Is it more fan service than story?
The long ears. The solid blue. The bat smirk. This era gave us great detective stories and fun, but not campy, tales of fantasy. Not as whimsical as the 50-60, nor as gung-ho as the 40s. Much better than his renditions in the 80s and God forbid the 90s. The 00s, 10s, and 20s have given us hits and flops fairly inconsistently. But I have NEVER been disappointed by a 70s Batman conic
LUKEWARM TAKE: Cenematic Universes are cool and all, but Comic book adaptations work WAY better in a serialized format. Shows like 90s Marvel cartoons were all just effortlessly connected. The X-Men showed up in am episode and Spider-Man, and it just made sense that these two shows were in the same universe. Then there's the CW Arrowverse, which had grandious crossovers, yes, but it also had highlights like Green Arrow calling the Fkash for like 3 seconds of assisstance. Not in some big "hey, remember these shows are connected" moment either, it was literally just a second of screen time, smach-dab in the middle of Season 5, and it just made sense. That's how comics generally are too. When you see the Human Torch in a Spider-Man comic, you don't tend to think twice, or worry about a missed issue of Fantastic Four; you just remember "Oh yeah, Peter & Johnny are bros" and continue reading. Now compare that to things like the MCU. Wanna watch Shang-Chi? Oh, well you've gotta watch all 3 Iron Man movies, all three prior Avengers films, AND Captain Marvel for the post credits scene. WHY?! It's a stand alone about a martial artists! Why is it connected to Iron Man AND space?!?! Then there's atrocities like the 2023 Flash movie which (ignoring Ezra Miller) had Michael Keaton reprising his role as Batman. Cool and all, but those movies are 40 years old! I doubt too many people who watched that movie even new why Michael Keaton was playing Batman at all!
TL;DR, I have an intense love for comics, and comic movies are awesome, but TV is FFAARR better suited for interconnected universes, imo.
And if you disagree, that's okay. Remember that this is just my personal opinion, it doesn't infringe on yours, and I'm human too.
I want to read more JL stuff because i didn't like the new 52 run, but i don't know where to read before that. I read GL new 52 and Rebirth runs and it was good but i'm not sure to what read now
I want to read Batman but only from around the time he adopted his kids. Where do I start?
Should it remain a mystery?
