Idk what it is about this series but it’s so goddamn addictive. I swear no other shows hit the spot like this one.
I’ve rewatched it 6 times already. Never gets old.
Watching this season knowing that Tom Ellis has three daughters from two different mothers in the UK and knowing that he now lives thousands of miles away from them, made me think playing Lucifer this season must have been almost like a kind of crazy torture/cathartic therapy for him. Especially since the filming was done amidst covid travel restrictions meaning it would have been difficult or impossible for him to visit his own daughters.
I'm not implying that Tom disappeared from their lives in the way Lucifer does, but when you live 6000 miles away from your kids, you're basically abdicating parental responsibility. Sure you can zoom and visit and be generous with child support, but that is not the same as real, boots on the ground, parenting. So I wonder what it must have been like to have his rage-filled fictional daughter accusing him of abandoning her? Accusing him of perhaps the very things he feels guiltiest about in his own life? Exactly like the Lucifer version of hell. Again and again reliving the thing you feel guiltiest about. Not sure if anyone has brought this up before. If so, sorry for the repetition.
I know the Bloody Celestial Karaoke Jam episode wasn't everyone's favourite but, damn, the duet between Lucifer and God hit so much harder watching it again after having watched S6.
Lucifer just wanted to be left alone to live a life with the woman he loved 🥺
As I watched through, I realized that despite others on the show (particularly Lucifer) being shown completely in the nude, or other women wearing revealing or tight clothing or acting in flirtatious or seductive ways, Chloe never is. Even in the times when she goes under cover or is supposed to be even trying to be flirtatious she’s not good at it, and never wears anything revealing or tightly fitted. Even her formal wear and her “rave” wear she’s covered head to toe.
Why do you think that is? The actresses choice or, a writing choice: Chloe is special to Lucifer and is different, doesn’t fall for his ways, is immune to his mojo etc. I think it’s a character choice to subtly show Lucifer responding entirely to her person or soul, not her body, which is a huge change for him and from his usual ways.
Thoughts?
I just like the show. I don’t need to pray to the “dark lord”. Just love Tom Ellis’ energy.
Chloe and Lucifer (Michael) getting coffee alongside the porn music soundtrack will always and forever have me in stitches. Michael was so out of his depth, Chloe played him HARD 😂
Also, I swear Tom Ellis' breath needs it's own acting credit. Shocked huffs, exasperated sighs, frustrated puffs, grateful sighs before a kiss.
There was a debate about Fox vs. Netflix seasons being better.
But somehow no one talks about how S4 and 5 were from S6?
I loved the more serious and eerie vibe of S1-3, but tbh S5 was where I had the most fun. It felt like characters were maturing, but still keeping a bit of their "edge" that made them unique.
But S6 seems to erase all of that?
It felt like S6 was trying to squeeze in a two seasons worth of story into 10 episodes. All characters seem to regress, loose their motivations and quirks, and are rushed to quickly tell a story not really consistent with S1-5. And a lot more time is spent on telling Amenadiels story than main character's story - story more suited into a serious documentary film, not a lighthearted series about devil driving a corvette stingray.
Rewatching Lucifer rn and in season 3 ep 12 when Lucifer cleans up Chloe’s desk and changes her wall paper to “hello detective” on top of his half naked self really got me 😭
Bro had the aesthetics of a shitposter before it became popular
I don't dislike the finale buuut I kind of hate the way Lucifer was "healing" the damned souls in the Dr. Linda office like It was thearpy.
It sense like a joke, In my opinion would better show us help in the individual hell loops like Lee o Jimmy It would so much deep.
alr so will wood. yea yea WHAT ABOUT HAND ME MY SHOVEL IM GOING IN (by will wood and the tapeworms) x LUCIFER COVER !?
SO MANY WW SONGS WOULD SUIT HIM AM I CRAZY OR WHAT
Why was it only Rory who was with old lady Chloe in the end when she was about to pass away?? I find it strange she wasn't there with her dying mother. I can't see Trixie not being there with them. Maybe it's just a plot hole but it bothers me every time I rewatch it.
There are so many biblical figures in the whole story, and even God is there, but why is Jesus missing? The characters in the story keep finding ways to go to heaven, but the Bible clearly states that believing in Jesus is the way to heaven, yet the plot deliberately avoids this point.
Do you think the show got better after it moved to Netflix or do you think it was at it's best when being made by Fox? Personally while I think the Netflix seasons did a lot of good stuff and improved on certain things, I prefer the Fox seasons.
Eve.... I feel like if she never showed up the show would be better. I understand maze loves eve and all, but I just dont like her... Am I crazy?
