/r/WonderWoman
Lately I've been thinking in my head about what an ideal animated series for Wonder Woman would be like, and in Nutshell in the second season we would have Ares as the main antagonist and here would see the first direct conversation between him and Diana explaining his ideals, I enjoyed doing this dialogue and so I decided to share it
Ares: What I seek is glory, the power that will be brought in the greatest of wars, where true warriors have risen!
Wonder Woman: That's not what you brought to my sisters centuries ago! You brought tragedy, loss, fear and despair, that's why they left this world, it's your fault it's like this, they were true warriors who would.....
Ares: hahaha......HAHAHA!
Wonder Woman: why are you laughing?
Ares: do you really think I was to blame for them isolating themselves? do you really think I corrupted this world alone? and most importantly Diana Born of clay, do you really think the Amazons are true warriors?
Wonder Woman: they are! They.....
Ares: Born of clay, I am the god of war because that is what humans seek, humans want war, I bring them, what they do in war is their choice, in retrospect, I feel bad for what Heracles did to your sisters, I wanted them to fight in a war and that wasn't war, but I did not force him to enslave them, in the same way I did not force the Amazons to flee like cowards.
Wonder Woman: cowards!?
Ares: obviously they are cowards, they were not the first nor the last to suffer from war and oppression, I closely followed several groups, millions of people who even suffering atrocities continued and to this day continue to fight for themselves, for those they love and for what they believe in, these people are the true warriors, true warriors fight, no matter if the world is against them. Meanwhile, we have the Amazons who were blessed by the goddesses, given the mission of spreading supposed peace, love and equality, supposedly the perfect warriors. BUT when they suffered their first defeat, when they finally saw that the mission would not be as easy as they thought, when more than ever they should be firm in fighting, what did they do? THEY RAN! to a supposed paradise, given to them on a silver platter where they would live happily and isolated. Meanwhile, the world they left behind was taken over by war, while millions died from hatred, while women suffered from patriarchy! so no. Born from clay, the Amazons are not warriors, they are just cowards, living in an illusory peace and i as the god of war have to punish them, goodbye Diana Born of clay, soon I will claim what is mine.
It is known that comics never have a definitive ending and will never have one. So, what is the definitive final battle for Wonder Woman?
Wonder Woman vs Cheetah
Wonder Woman vs Ares
Wonder Woman vs The Sovereign
But if had to choose, I think Wonder Woman Vs Ares would be the most iconic and meaningful final battle. It would encapsulate her entire journey and the core themes of her character.
What do you guys think of this YouTube video? In it, the guy discusses who he thinks is Wonder Woman's archenemy. It comes down to Ares, Cheetah and Circe. Ares was originally it, but took a back seat in modern times and is most consistently used in outside media. Cheetah's the most famous one, but less consistent in the comics. Circe's the most consistent in modern times. He concludes that she's Wonder Woman's archenemy? Do you guys agree or disagree? When I think of the Big 6 from the Justice League, it seems like all of the others have clear cut archenemies. Superman has Lex Luthor. Batman has the Joker. Green Lantern has Sinestro. Flash has Reverse Flash. Aquaman has Black Manta. I always saw Cheetah as Diana's archenemy, but does Circe work better?
Comics may have already covered this but I would not know because I have always been more of a Supergirl fan (2005-2011 before the New 52 Flashpoint reboot).
Anyway I was watching a video about the origin of Wondergirl (Cassie Sandmark AKA Supergirl's BFF) and learned she was the daughter of Wonderwoman's boss (Helena Sandmark) at the museum.
The video said Wonderwoman decided to work at the museum and I found it hilarious it did not elaborate because IRL you apply and whether you work at a place is not solely up to the person applying.
If and when Wonderwoman is rebooted on the big screen I would love for Wonderwoman to just show up, get rejected on her application, but still keep coming to work anyway until the boss finally decides to hire her because:
.1. She can't get rid of her.
On paper Diana is not qualified, but her boss Helena Sandmark finally gives in after Diana keeps showing up even on days other employess call in sick.
And she has to pay her because that's the law, she just does not pay her much because she figures she does not have to and the fact that Diana more or less got the job illegally lol.
Not knowing Diana is rich anyway lol.
Ignore WW hand please. This is a bad first sketch
The title is self explanatory which is basically a Wonder Woman show for kids. Now I can see some pros and cons for this:
