Just finished the season. Loved the voice cast, and loved the fresh spin on characters, particularly Harley Quinn (loved the new costume).
Appreciated the rogue's gallery in the season, but found the final tease a bit tiresome, that character needs a lengthy break...
I dug the animation too, though I do miss the texture TAS had in its animation.
The only thing I'd say is is 10 episodes is very short. TV these days takes over a year, sometimes two, to get a new season out, so 10 episodes was a bit of a bummer, I'd easily have watched 5 more.
I'd love to see their spin on Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy & the Ventriloquist and get Robin in there in S2.
I know Batman was in the PTO at Damien but was he in the PTO for Dick Jason and Tim?
And if he did I think everyone in the PTO though out the years would judge him in different ways.
Like when he first got Dick he joined the PTO. every PTO mom though Dick was Bruce's bio kid and when ever someone asked Dick he said he is my dad just to get under Bruce's skin every one thought Bruce was a teen dad.
When he got Jason in school he stressed that he was adopted. So every PTO mom thought he was a hero for adopting a poor kid from crime alley.
With Tim every mom thought Bruce was holding him back because he's a genius and he wasn't any clubs or after school classes. He was to busy being robin.
The show is lost without Paul Dini. Bruce Timm needs Paul Dini. The show felt absent without him. The show did have some nice effects and good stories but Batman feels useless. I mean he’s barely in it. I think it needs some reworking in season 2. Maybe get some BTAS alumni or something idk. It needs work a lot of work. My honest rating is 3/5. However Harvey Dent burns being on the wrong side bothers me. He looks like George Blake. (In the comics George Blake had his burns on the opposite side of Harvey’s). But anyway show needs reworking
Two things he could do in his first real appearance is:
Poison beauty products like in Batman '89
Poison Gotham's water supply like in The Man Who Laughs
Or even something entirely different.
What do you think?
like where did that even come from 😭😭? even the music was confused lmaooo. any thoughts on this? because i can’t exactly come up with anything besides bruce being mean to harvey, or maybe there’s some foreshadowing??
people are telling me to watch the animated series and i have seen some episodes when it was running but i really want to know if i can dive in the caped crusader without watching anything else
I feel like Clock King would work well within the show, with a very similar design to Brave and the Bold. Keeping in theme of the villains transformations/reasons for villainy being their own selfishness, they could rework the original backstory so his sister died because of him, yet he blamed anyone else but himself, turning to crime to get back at "the system that failed him."
This is the promo for the Cartoon Network Promos in 1998, a little tribute for this page.
Okay, Alfred Pennyworth has got that new look and I love it. I also must say he really is the moral compass for Bruce Wayne, he even helped him in the ghost episode to banish him. Who knew he had noble man blood in him.
I also saw the insane Harley Quinn. Everyone called her Quinzel. I was like who's Quinzel? So I looked it up and saw that is was Harley Quinn. Smack myself in the head.
Does anyone know how long it would take for me to watch this all together in one run.
I sat my butt down and saw it. It's damn impressive. I enjoy the new character designs and the direction. Commissioner Gordon is different but the same tough as nails cop to fight crime. Montoya is still the same detective and still just as great. Barbara is now a lawyer, not a spunky college student, but her design is welcoming. Alfred is now more than just a sidekick, he is Bruce's Moral compass and a team player. Especially against a ghost. And Bruce is still the same Bruce but there is baggage on him, much darker than the Original Series. Make no mistake the Animated series is damn well made, but this series is honed and finely tuned.
Could this be this legit?
Enjoy the review
(This is my first time making a Reddit)
I had huge hopes for this show, and while I
did enjoy what it was going for, it felt
underwhelming. I got what they were doing
with the characters, but they left some
things missing. The voice acting was pretty
bland, the villains were one dimensional (I’m not saying evil for the sake of evil is bad, I’m
saying if you make all of them that, it takes
away the uniqueness of them). There’s so
much controversy to this show, that I’m
surprised no one has made a rewrite of it.
So, I’m making my own.
Setting: It would still take place in the 1940s,
but I wanna take advantage of that, with Bruce and Harvey both recovering from what they saw and been through in the war. They both have their trauma, but their ptsd exasperates it.
Episodes: 13
Villains: All of them are connected to the golden age. So here’s each of them in order of the show.
Catwoman
Clayface
Penguin
Dr Death
Joker
Cavalier
Killer Moth
Riddler
Scarecrow
Two Face
Runtime: 1 hour 20 minutes (each episode)
Premise:
Batman has been around for two years since Bruce Wayne came back from the war. Harvey Dent, who also came back from the war at the same time, is running for mayor, hoping to make a change to Gotham, while Bruce and Julie Madison support his campaign. As Bruce begins to rekindle his bonds with Julie and Harvey, Batman begins to evolve from a mostly emotionally closed off vigilante to a more open person. While he is mostly closed off, he still shows some sense of compassion, as shown with Alfred, and even his rogues.
Episode 1: The Bat and the Cat
Selina Kyle, having been Catwoman for two years, plans her latest heist against the Mad Monk Cult, who own a cat like statue. This leads to her running into the Batman himself.
Episode 2: The Terror
Bruce and Julie are invited to witness the filming of The Terror remake. When a new killer named Clayface begins killing the cast and crew, Batman indirectly works with Detective Bullock to get the killer.
Episode 3: The Flightless Bird’s Call
Vowing to restore his family’s glory, the Penguin begins a ruthless crusade of high rise thefts. Batman and Harvey do whatever they can to bring him in.
Episode 4: The Doctor Named Death
The GCPD hunt for Batman, but aren’t successful. With some advice, they release a certain doctor to kill the bat. He goes beyond that.
Episode 5: Go With A Smile
A new criminal named the Joker begins an unpredictable murder spree, hoping to outshine the Batman.
Episode 6: Sword of the Cavalier
A new flamboyant vigilante appears in Gotham, challenging Batman’s view on the law.
Episode 7: The Moth’s Hunt
Gordon and Harvey are forced to work together when an assassin named Killer Moth goes for the commissioner’s head.
Episode 8: The Riddler’s Game
Gordon is forced to challenge his beliefs and work with the Bat when the Riddler challenges them.
Episode 9: The Monster Inside Me
Bruce gets to learn more about his psychiatrist, Dr. Crane, when he kidnaps him, forcing him to peak through the fragments of his mind.
Episode 10: Two Sided Man
Harvey is winning the election, but his past comes to haunt him when Rupert Thorne gets his hands on his past.
Episode 11: Two Face
Broken physically and mentally, Harvey begins a hunt for Rupert Thorne, leading to tragedy ensuing.
Episode 12: EGO
With Julie dead, and Two Face in Arkham, Bruce is left to fight himself as he wonders what is the Batman: vengeance or justice?
I know it’s not the most fleshed out, but if it wanted to go into the golden age, I think this should be how it’s done. Let me know your thoughts.
These evil bastards are definitely gonna be a big time villian
