I’m looking for a superman run to read. Beginner friendly. Since I haven’t read a lot of superman Most of the recommendations I see are like 6-12 issues long but I’m looking for something a bit longer. Like a long run. And not the Tomasi run Not an alternative story like Red Son.
Do you think James Gunn's Superman could be the best Superman movie ever? Superman the movie is a classic but the special FX has aged badly, Superman is great but he has way to many weird powers , Superman 3 is a weird but fun film, Superman 4 is a cartoon for kids , Superman Returns is kinda boring, Man of Steel is kinda dull and divisive for fans and BvS is more a Batman movie so Superman Legacy has a great chance to mark those faults of previous movies and correct them to make the Greatest Superman ever.
"But here I am god"
I thought this line and the scene of the people of apocalypse trying to help darkseid was amazing but I was never able to articulate why. So I ask the people of Reddit, what do you guys feel about this scene.
Genuine question: I wonder how much it is dramatized
Thanks!!
Here’s the scenario:
Superman is under mind control. It’s mainline Superman so he probably won’t kill, but it’s not guaranteed, and even if he doesn’t, he could still cause massive damage and injury.
Only the Flash is available to go against him. Can he defeat, subdue, or contain Superman without any other superhero coming to his aid?
Both heroes are experienced into their careers at this point and understand their own as well as each other’s powers and capabilities well.
(This isn’t a question of who’s faster but of course it is a factor in the discussion)
I’m trying to start a fan fiction and I need to know if Superman can travel the Multiverse in any way without the use of a cosmic treadmill. You know like Superspeed or punching a hole in the universe itself? Something like that. I’m not that up to date on the comics so I don’t really know if he’s ever been able to do something like that. Also what are some of Superman’s lesser known powers? I know Superman has a lot of powers but some of them are not well known. I know about his super strength, speed, hearing, freeze breath laser eyes flight and basically all of his powers he normally uses. I might be missing a few though.
Obviously the answer is, A LOT. The depth and humanity he brought to the character coming out of the Bronze Age was pretty significant, not to mention the physical characteristics that would be drawn on for years to come. I wonder specifically how much influence he had on John Byrne, who in my opinion laid the groundwork for bringing Superman into the Modern Age with his Man of Steel run in 1986. The first Superman came out in 1978. It would be hard to imagine that he was writing Man of Steel in 86' without Christopher Reeves picture in his mind the whole time. Thoughts?
Hi y’all.
So I’ve been an fan of dc (mainly Batman) since I was 3/4, recently I’ve been getting into Superman lore more, I’ve always liked Superman, he just wasn’t as interesting to me as Batman is, I watched the SnyderVerse, which is where my love for The character started more, I tired watching the donner film, couldn’t get past the opening.
Then I watched SuperGirl and that’s where my love for the Kryptonian lore has mostly begun & my conclusion of Tyler hoechlin being the best Superman, I want to get into more hopeful comics/movies/shows, like SuperGirl in preparation for Superman 2025, what would y’all recommend?
