Superman Snoos by u/ZacPensol & u/HylianLibrarian

I went to see the new movie Brandon was starring in at the Toronto international film festival, I was dying to see it and I knew I’d have a chance at interacting with him since they do Q&A’s at the end of the films.
I unfortunately didn’t have the chance to talk to him during the Q&A but life had something much better for me. I left the theatre in hopes of seeing him come out and asking for an autograph on my copies of Scott Pilgrim and Superman.
I’m standing there, picture a girl, 5’2, wearing a blue dress and jacket who is either freezing in the cold Toronto weather or freaking out and GAWKING at the theatre doors in case she got a glimpse of Brandon.
There was a group of men standing next to me, an Asian man, a ginger guy and two other men who i honestly didn’t even look at.
The ginger guy (who I think was Will Hand) looks over to me and sees me holding my DVD’s and my sharpie when he asks me “what movies have you got there?”
I turn to him and show him the two Brandon Routh films and then he asks “are you trying to get them signed by Brandon?” To what I responded, yes while nodding frantically.
He turned to the man with him and told him something before turning to me and saying “okay hold on he’s gonna talk to someone because he’s actually the producer.” I’m freaking out at this point on the phone with my father, bless his soul, that was driving to come get me.
The producer (who I later found out was the executive producer) turned to me and asked me if I wanted to meet Brandon to what I again replied “yes” Trying to keep my composure but still freaking out about it all.
He again tells me he’s gonna talk to someone and leaves for what felt like 5 minutes.
He came back to me eventually and said “Brandon went out the other way, he got into an SUV that was going to take him to the after party”
For a moment I was almost giving up, I was tired and wanted to sleep so badly until he asked me
“Do you want me to take you there?”
Not even a second of silence went by before I said yes, didn’t even ask my dad if I could go I just said yes.
He told me to wait while he gathered up a bunch of people from the team and crew of the movie before he asked me to follow him.
I walked next to him the entire way just holding my stuff and being scared shitless, what if they kidnapped me or something??
He led me out of King Street W where TIFF takes place in. As I’m walking he asks “do you have a pen with you?” To what i answered
“Yes.”
We went to blue jays way (funny name as I am also a Beatles geek) to a club called Mister C.
I was scared for a moment since i thought security wouldn’t let me in but since they saw me with Terry Jae Kyun Oh (the executive producer) they said nothing.
He continued to lead me through the club till we reached the very end, and there he was.
Brandon Routh, standing there with a carton of water in his hands. He looks at me slightly startled before looking at Terry who whispers the situation in his ear, Brandon nods understandingly, says hi and takes my movies from me.
I was staring at him in awe before I remembered I had a letter to give him which is stuck in between the dvd’s.
I slipped it out of there and said “I wrote you a letter” He looks up to me and stops what he’s doing to take the letter and thank me.
He gave me my movies back and I asked him to take a picture, he said yes and Terry took my phone for me to take them.
Brandon asked me what was my name, and for the first time in the 16 years of my life someone pronounced correctly the first time.
I have a really strange name for English speaking people so hearing him say it right just kinda stuck with me.
We said our goodbyes before I got practically kicked out of there.
Even after 5 months I still think about this, it was absolutely amazing.
This is what I call right time, right place.
I just watched an episode of season 4 named "Super Mann." Now I've watched this episode so many times that I can practically go word-for-word with it. But in recent events, this episode hits extremely different. I never thought we'd have to go up against this.
Take the hate somewhere else.
I just realised that it's been almost four decades since we actually got a great Clark and Lois romantic chemistry since the last time we had an amazing Clark and Lois dynamic was in the Christopher Reeve movies. We have had arguably much better Clark and Lois love story and chemistry in the TV shows and animations, but, never on the big screen movies since Superman Returns and Man Of Steel versions of Clark and Lois had absolutely zero chemistry. I really hope David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan can bring back that magic of Clark and Lois's love for each other and remind general audiences why they are the greatest couple ever.
I decided to draw Superman as all the Lanterns.
I based Red Lantern Superman on New 52 Red Lantern Supergirl.
I based Orange Lantern Superman on an image of Larfleeze.
I based Sinestro Corps Superman on Sinestro Corps Superman from the Sinestro 2015 Comic Run.
I based Green Lantern Superman on the Smallville Season 11 Comics. I did add a Green Lantern Logo under the Armor.
I based Blue Lantern Superman in a Blue Lantern Kryptonian from Future State Superman.
I based Ultraviolet Corps Superman on the Ultraviolet Corps from DCUO.
I based Indigo Tribe Superman on an Image of Iroque. I too some liberties.
I based Star Sapphire Superman on New 52 Star Sapphire.
I based White Lantern Superman on the 2009 Blackest Night Comics.
I based Blackest Night Superman on the 2009 Blackest Night Comics and the McFarlane Figure.
Mines Superman The Movie!
So i recently came across a video that was explaining how current comic book culture online doesn't nor get the character of the man of steel and how they are perceiving him in a more cynical way but on one of the shots in the video when he is talking about 'bad' superman comic runs/stories the groups in the 2018 superman run by Bendis yet when I looked online that run gets universal praise so i don't know if the person in the video is wrong or not but I am curious to hear personal options on whether or not its a worthy read before the film comes out in July
the part start s here: https://youtu.be/jddW-5VNgWU?si=BwDkCQkLyxH61YZ3&t=66
I'm looking forward greatly to Cornswet's interpretation. I think he's going to be terrific as Superman. But there's a part of me that wants to jump into an alternate universe where Cavill got to be Superman in the Gunn version, or at the very least WB knew what the hell they were doing.
You could see Cavill wanted to be Superman, like the real thing, but WB and Snyder were constantly going against him and making it difficult. Write him to be a murder. Grease back his hair like a mobster. Light him to look like a ghoul in some shots. It's not Henry's fault that the writers and directors never grew out of their edgelord phase. But whenever he found an opportunity to step out of that darkness, holy shit that's Superman. That's how I imagine he would look and sound when I read Superman comics and watched TAS/JLU.
Specifically in Justice League (both versions, surprisingly even the Snyder one was pretty good), I saw Superman. And way back in Man of Steel when the DCEU moody bullshit wasn't too off the rails yet, you could see he was a great Superman. I love the line "in my world it means hope" because that's exactly how I imaged Superman sounding like in the real world. He got it so perfect. Commanding and respectable but still a little vulnerable.
I hate WB.
There are many people who think superman is just a boring character. How would you explain to them on why he isn’t?
Go to my profile and follow my networks, I post a lot about Superman there
I don't want to detract from any of the other incarnations of the suit. But I think this suit is the perfect adaptation of the classic Superman costume since Reeves. And the fact that they did it with the budget of a series, thinking that it would only be in a couple of episodes, is incredible.
