The former actually sounds cooler. Lala sounds like something Spongebob can be heard singing.
Just wanna say it's hilarious to me that Jeff is so against killing.... Unless Gambi is the one doing it. That man murders everyone he comes across when he's out working
Lynn and Jennifer for me 🤦🏾♀️
He and Lynn were toxic. What the fuck was the point in being divorced if he just kept pursuing his ex?
I just started watching Black Lightning a bit ago. Currently on Season 3 , Ep 8 and it seems like everybody gets on my nerves! Lynn is annoying as hell with her self righteous self, Jen is a spoiled child, Anissa , and even Black Lightning sometimes works my nerves. What is going on??? I’m trying to continue watching but it gets harder and harder. Am I the only one feeling this way????
Sooo, anybody got like Flower in the Attic vibes from Tobias after his sister death? He often talked to her painting which in of itself, is a little off but also the painting of her was also bit on the... sensual side. I eventually chalked it up it was originally hers. But then in season 4 he called Tori "the love of his life", in direct comparison to Jefferson & his wife Lynn. I just feel like their some unspoken emotional incest on his part lol.
I, finally, watched the first couple of episodes of Black Lighting. How did this show get green lit? I am behind the concept. I like the plot. They lost me though The writting is fucking tragic and I have seen better acting in high school productions. I WANT TO LIKE THIS SHOW. Sadly I have powered through to episode 5. The writting has not gotten better. The acting, unfortunately, works off the script. I love the concept and the character. This show sucks and it is all about the script and the direction. I tried. It failed.
For old times sake I’ll read this tonight .
One thing I really love about black lighting is that they don't waste a whole alot of time on different romantic relationships for the characters. Granted people say that Lynn and Jefferson were kinda toxic which i can see that perspective. But one thing I loved, is that they made it pretty clear they only ever had eyes for each other. The love that they had takes work, in all stages. Anissa was in legit
one relationship, a couple hook ups and long term "situationship".Granted , I feel like the Grace & Anissa kinda "rushed" into marriage, especially considering their character's type. But the chemistry there, so i won;t complain too much .Jennifer had few crushes but it was pretty clear she only ever fell for khalil. I love Barry & Iris, but Iris was ENGAGED to a whole another guy and only ended up with Barry he died. Cisco & Kaitlyn love lives have quite the rap sheet, as well as Oliver from Arrow. But yeah, I like not having to adjust to a new love interest every season.
I just finished watching Black Lightning. It's a good show that I enjoyed watching, but it's very flawed. One major problem I've noticed is that the show has good characters, with mediocre character writing. The show just doesn't know how to handle the majority of its characters, and give them meaningful arcs. While most of the characters are pretty fun and charismatic, that doesn't change the fact that the show can't go anywhere beyond that when it comes to writing them just beyond giving them stuff to do.
When I started watching Black Lightning, I expected it to be escapist superhero fantasy like other shows in the Arrowverse. Arrow started off killing rich people who benefited off the backs of the poorer members of the city, then moved on to fighting super villains and other, mostly over-the-top bad guys. The Flash and Super Girl almost exclusively fight meta humans and aliens. Black Lightning is set in an all too real seeming city overrun with drugs, prostitution, and school shootings. I stopped watching after a few episodes so maybe things change, but it left me wondering why the series with an amazing Black hero seems mired in every stereotype of the "Black experience."
?
Rewatching Season 1 atm and I'm weirdly enjoying it way more than I did originally idk why. Maybe with coming off the trails of The Flash season 6+ has made me see it in a different light idk why.
I've always found them to be so real. This series in general does dynamics like this in a very realistic way besides it being a superhero show. It doesn't feel as soap-opery as The Flash, it's almost like on Arrow's level of quality (I do love The Flash though).
I'm on the episode where they take her research and she gets made at jeff for it. LIKE WHAT?!?!?!.
Does she not know that they are framing him. Why is she mad at him
Khalil Payne / Painkiller and Liam "Angel" O'Malley / Angelus are having same common.
Same daddy issues.
Once innocent victim before becoming monster and victim of circumstances. Once upon a time.
Rebirth as most heartless ruthless beasts with hidden heart of gold.
Have inner beast within them. Can't control and killing people around them.
Regret of their mistakes.
Help their loved ones to protect the world after regaining their conscience.
Being broody.
Find person who can accepted them and who bring best of them the most. Like Cordelia bring best of Angel the most. Not Buffy did to Angel. (Like same thing Jennifer didn't accepted Painkiller is part of Khalil and Buffy doesn't accepted Angel and his inner beast Angelus part of him)
Going travel to different city and doing redemption.
Balance their inner beasts and real themselves.
Create team and teamwork to do help the helpless and take down corruption.
Have senses of repentance and redemption.
At January 28, 2019, Nichelle Payne made ultimate deal with ASA to receive her son Khalil's life. Regarding Khalil. She always take risk for her son Khalil after she lost her another son Keenan. ASA takes Khalil, revive him with upgrading metal Promethium enchanced bionic spinal implant and give him metahuman vaccine to upgrading his metahuman powers to become truly dangerous bionic metahuman again after he pass out at hospital. She's reason of Khalil's resurrection but she didn't know Agent Percy Odell purposely brainwashed her son Khalil and weaponize him again like same thing Martin Proctor and Tobias Whale weaponized him. ASA weaponized Khalil again twice.
All Nichelle wanted was always take risk for him. And save her son.
Wonderful parent like her always do whatever takes risks for her son. Same thing like Angel made ultimate sacrifice deal with Wolfram&Hart for Connor and even Cordelia to save them.
Khalil is 17 at Black Lightning season one. He's still 17 at season 2. He's 18 at season 3. He's 19 at season 4.
Khalil Payne's birthday is March 25th, 2001.
I never forget that Distort Attorney Montez let Tobias know that Khalil already plans state evidence against him so Khalil going to witness protection program. I figured she's corrupt public servant too as everybody are working for corrupt public services and corrupt public servants.
At first, Tobias and ASA did create enchanced bionic Promethium spinal implant for Khalil. They create metahuman serums on enchanced spinal implant have enchanced abilities and had snake venom links to his DNA, bloodstream, veins, and his system. They gives science stuff on Khalil to makes him crazy mad as unleashing his anger and dark side. ASA trained Khalil while Tobias got hurt by Black Lightning.
When ASA revive Khalil, they upgraded his enhanced bionic Promethium spinal implant. It's hidden entirely under his skin. They create bionic chip in his brain to be enchanced intelligence. They enchants his powers as they use metahuman vaccine or metahuman serum.
Khalil's enhanced bionic spinal implant metal is made of Promethium.
Painkiller is part of Khalil because he use his rage to become straight honor roll student, become track star, survived surgery have spine replacement with bionic metahuman enchantments experiment. Painkiller is always part of Khalil all along. Khalil absolutely indeed create Painkiller.
Khalil and his inner beast Painkiller are like Angel and his inner beast Angelus, Bruce and his inner beast Hulk, Jekyll and his inner beast Hyde.
After getting rid of kill order, Khalil remains have his inner beast Painkiller within him.
I always believe Khalil Payne aka Painkiller is bionic metahuman.
I always suspect that Destiny is Shaquandalyn. The missing daughter of LaWanda. She hold grudge against Lala for killing her mother.
I was suspect that Tobias is involved with Keenan got killed when Khalil was 15.
At Season 2 episode 5, Tobias and Khalil have dinner at penthouse. Tobias said something about brothers. So it hit me to I figured that Tobias is killer of Khalil's older brother Keenan.
Show plot comes later.
Movie Plot: Khalil Payne, Now Without Memories Of The Pierce Family, Has Been Enjoying His Life, But All That Changes When Khalil Runs Into An Old "Friend." Painkiller Himself. This Time, After Khalil Was Knocked Out By LaLa By Suprise In A Bar. They Reprogrammed Painkiller To Kill Everyone In The City, And Seperated Their Forms So They're Connected Mentally But With Two Different Bodies. When Khalil Found This Out, He Went To TC, And When TC Tried To Shut Down The Chip In Khalil's Head, To Kill Painkiller, Painkiller Attacks Mentally, And Somehow Restores Every Memory Of The Pierces, And Painkiller Makes His #1 Target Jennifer, So When Khalil Remmebers Her, He Loses Her. But Khalil Determines Himself To Kill Painkiller. Eventually, He Stops Khalil And He And TC Find A Way And Get Painkiller Out And Get Rid Of Him For Good, But Khalil Still Had The Memories Of The Pierce Family.
It would be cool to know if I visited a place in Black Lightning in downtown Atlanta.
They keep referencing bros past as if we are supposed to know what’s going on like in arrow when we watch the flashback and then he talks about something
I think it would've been cool to see The Outsiders as a sequel/spin off on Max. You could have Jen and Anissa co-lead the team with Painkiller, T.C, Grace, Katana, The Real Geo-Force (not Brandon) and others. it could've had a more mature tone with character arcs like Anissa learning to be less arrogant and come into her own as a leader. What are your thoughts?
