Hi all. Can anyone pls recommend a good GP with an interest in paediatrics around south east Melbourne? Thanks
Looking for a real Christmas tree that isn't going to cost me a fortune. Located in Moonee Ponds.
Does anyone know if there’s a way to see the Tunnel Boring Machines in action? I’m wanting to purchase a tour for a friend (if such a thing exists) and couldn’t find any info online.
Any clue what happened?
So this morning the 6.20am train to city did not stop at Westona station. It just slowly cruised past at like 5km/h Everyone on the platform was like "wtf" I've seen this happen a couple of times now (at other stations). Does anyone know what the probable reason is for this? Is there some kind of common fault that prevents the train from stopping or opening doors? Or is the driver just a moron? I mean the train had slowed right down and looked like it was going to stop... But then just kept going. No announcement or anything.
This isn't a rant... I'm just more curious than anything else and wondered if someone might know the answer.

Had this lil fella fly onto me during a walk today
Good evening everybody! I’ve been living in Melbourne for 5 months now and part of my decision to move here has been to become the kind of person who embraces novelty and discomfort. I’ve been TERRIFIED of spiders since I was little and was hoping somebody with a pet tarantula, one that has been held many times, would be comfortable organizing a meetup so I could hold their tarantula. Let me know if you, or maybe someone you know is interested!
I own a pretty nice antique knife that I’ve been using for a while but overtime the wood started to chip and the brass pommel has been bent. Does anyone know a place where I could bring it in for a fix?
Hi everyone, I'm soon to turn 18 and wanting to work in bars in melbourne during uni (currently hold an RSA and have 4 years hospo experience) but I was wondering if anyone in Melbourne actually follows clause 13.5 of the hospitality award ("Junior employees working as liquor service employees must be paid as an adult")? It just seems a little too good to be true for the dodgy hospitality industry and I don't want to have my expectations set too high. Thanks!
Edit: Awesome thank you for all the replies guys, glad to hear the hospitality industry follows the law for once
Is it to scare monger and let us know they are still out there? They literally just stare down the carriage.
I'm looking for the cheapest possible place to live in melbourne, welbeing is not a requirement, only wall plugs and availability to the center of the city via public transport in less than an hour
After learning my workplace has decided to forgo a staff party this year for the first time in 10 years, it got me wondering what other work places are doing for their staff for Xmas this year.

I only receive these messages whenever I go to the airport. I don’t buy a ticket, nor do I buy anything while I’m there other than short term parking. This is done by tapping my card not booking. How do they know I’ve been to the airport??
I am thinking about taking the free TAFE course Cert IV in Training and Assessment at RMIT or Holmesglen. I would assume the course delivery will be similar, but which institute provides better support in terms of getting a job (through their career office) afterwards?
So I'm in Bayswater and my internet speed is 23.6 Mbps download and 13.6 Mbps upload. Is this slow? When I do a test it tells me my internet is fast but I don't know. It doesn't really feel that fast. Does anyone actually get speeds of 50 Mbps or over? Just curious to know what kind of speeds other people get and how much they pay.
Hey all,
Taking a person to Melbourne Magistrate Courts tomorrow for work. Unfortunately, public transport isn't feasible for them given their condition. Aiming to get there around 830am, would most the Wilson/Secure parking places have spots at that time?
Any recommendations close to the courts?
Cheers and goodnight!
Hi all,
I’m hoping someone can provide some advice or guidance on a frustrating situation I’m currently dealing with. I have a Samsung 65-inch TV from 2019 that has a damaged screen. I reached out to Samsung for repair options, and they referred me to a third-party company called Woolley Appliances. I gave them a call to see if they could help me fix it, and here’s where things went downhill.
The person I spoke to mentioned a $176 "call out fee", which I misunderstood. I thought that someone would come to inspect the issue for free then pay for the quote only, but when the technician showed up, he immediately demanded I pay the fee upfront. I asked him for a quote, and he said he had no idea what it would cost to fix the TV, but that he'd need to get parts and it would take some time to figure out the cost. He didn’t offer any other advice or options, and when I asked if I could recycle the TV to Samsung if the cost was too high, and he told me it was an older model (he said 2018, even though it’s a 2019 model) and that I couldn’t do that.
I was already feeling pretty frustrated at this point but felt I had no choice but to pay the $176 call-out fee. After the technician left, I received an SMS immediately with the quote for the repair of $844 just to fix the screen panel! The crazy part is that this exact cost is listed on Samsung’s website to replace the panel, which makes me think the technician was just trying to get me to pay the call-out fee without actually doing any work.
I’m honestly gutted about paying for the call-out fee, especially since I’m currently financially disadvantaged. The technician didn’t do anything but look at the TV, and I’m left wondering what the point of that $176 fee was.
At this point, I’m trying to figure out if there’s any way I can get some or all of the call-out fee refunded, especially given the misleading and unhelpful experience. Has anyone dealt with something like this before, or have any suggestions on how I might get my money back? Heck, I would of paid him a bit or half because of the fuel and time not even.
Thanks in advance for any help
