Today I found a black/brown spot on my Macbook air screen. First I thought it might be on the outside, so I tried cleaning it but it is inside. Anyone knows what it is and how to fix it?

I was eyeing a 16gb macbook air for 1100 USD, but I stumbled upon this deal for a M3 macbook pro 8GB for just 1250 USD. I don't really need the extra horsepower or active cooling, but I love high refresh monitors and nice speakers. I do a lot of browsing with many tabs open all the time as well as have VScode running. I have a desktop PC with 32GB ram for anything actually demanding, so I just want it to have a buttery smooth experience doing my everyday tasks for atleast a few years. Would 8GB of ram pose as a problem for my use case later?

Hi all! I got the battery of my MacBook replaced. During the replacement, there was an issue with the keyboard and Apple had to fix that for free. Since I’ve gotten it back, one of the charging ports isn’t working and the keys keep sticking. I’ve taken it in to have it looked at to see if it can be fixed but I have to pay almost $400 to get the charging port fixed. Before I gave my laptop to Apple, both ports were working. Online it says that there’s a 90 day warranty on replaced batteries but my Apple Store says that these issues aren’t because of the battery or keyboard change they did so it’s not covered. Is there anyone I can talk to/any work around for this situation? I already paid a significant amount of money to get the battery fixed and now the laptop is in worse shape than when I originally turned it in. Any advice would be helpful!

Hey everyone! I’m in the market for a new MacBook for video editing for YouTube. I currently have a 2018 MacBook Air (8gb of RAM) and it can’t even open Adobe Premier Pro anymore, never mind it’s extremely laggy and loud.

I’m at the stage where I want to purchase a new MacBook but am unsure of which is the best option for me - Apple employees haven’t been the best help either.

As a bit of background information, I currently produce and edit one 10-20min YouTube video a week, thus would need a Mac that can handle this workload. My budget is around $4,500 AUD or roughly $3000 USD.

Ideally I want a laptop that can perform optimally for video editing and don’t want to spend more than needed. For example, purchasing a M4 Max if a M4 pro would be more than sufficient.

If anyone has suggestions about the type of Mac (can be old models) and the recommended specs upgrades it would be much appreciated as I’m quite lost.

I’ve been daily driving an iPad Pro for a year now, and honestly, it’s been great for most of my freelance work. But sometimes, I miss the macOS experience (getting an m4 Mac mini)

I feel my iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard is heavy, but it’s the same as the MacBook Air 13-inch!

A 2025 12-inch MacBook Air with an M4 or m5 “Lite” chip focused on efficiency would pull me back (with 8 or 10 efficiency cores only for example. With geek bench scores matching an m1)

Imagine it lighter than the 2017 version designed for insane battery life and portability. It wouldn’t be a powerhouse, but I miss a 2-pound option.

Could this fit into Apple’s lineup? Would you be interested in something like this? Or is it just me?

I'm a student who owns a Macbook Air M2, and I'm looking to get an external monitor below $500. I mainly do work on my laptop and game at most 2 hours a week, but I think that a higher refresh rate would still be nice. I saw a lot of reviews saying the Dell u2723qe was one of the best Macbook monitors, but the MSI is $100 cheaper and has 160hz at 4k. Is it a good idea for me to purchase the MSI, or should I still go with the Dell?

Today i tried downloading something of the web , without really thinking about it i just pressed enter. And since that time i have been getting safari notifications from that website, things like , download antivirus, etc etc. I went into notifications and i just saw that i could turn it off, I downloaded an antivirus through the app store and scanned, found nothing at all. Do ya'all think everything is ok? just notifications? or should i do something else?

Prices are exactly the same due to a $100 discount on the pro. I really value portability and I love the 15 inch screen on the air because I like to have two Safari window side-by-side that are not in the mobile layout on the browser. I don’t really use a lot of processing besides web, browsing and basic apps like notes so I don’t really think I need the extra processing on the pro But I also know that the screen quality is allegedly substantially nicer. Given that they’re the same price; would I be foolish to not get the pro? I also do value the ability to potentially use two monitors while the device is open. so to me, that’s one of the greatest benefits of the pro and may use the HDMI port from time to time. but then I’m really sad to think that I’m moving from a really thin laptop with my M2 air to something much thicker since I do value that aesthetic and portability.

So I've just began to use this brand new macbook and i didn't damage it in any way however after 2 days of using it the screen does something where it lights up normally for 2 seconds and then just straight black but the computer in itself still works (the sounds works, the keyboard lights up etc).

Does anyone know what might be the issue?

Ive checked for potential backlight circuit issue by putting a flashlight on the screen but its still black.

Hi, I bought a used macbook pro m1 for a really good price, everything works like a charm and the device is completely intact on the outside, but it has these weird marks, almost like discoloration but in circles? it's super weird, does anyone know what can cause something like this? or if I can fix it?

So I tried to sign into my MacBook pro 16 in and everything just disappeared?? I turned on voice over and the icons are still there (like the text box says Safari but Safari isn't there). How can I bring back everything on back??

I currently have a M2 Air with 8 Core 16 GB Ram 512 SSD. I am in need of an upgrade to a pro due to 4k video editing and demanding coding type work.

I want a BRAND NEW computer that'll last a good 4-5 years and want a 1 TB SSD already integrated into the system(don't want to use external hard drives) and am debating between

A: NEW M2 Pro MBP 1 TB SSD 16 GB RAM $1,650 on Amazon 

B: NEW M4 Pro MBP 1 TB SSD 24 GB RAM $2,200(With Education Discount)

I'm a college student so money is a factor but I'm looking at these performance benchmarks for the M4 Pro and thinking that this is the best future-proof laptop that will be a powerhouse and won't needed to be upgraded for a while. The extra $550 might be worth it even when money is tight.

I think I can sell my Air for around $7-800 especially if I include the 1.5 year left of Apple Care+ that I have so out of pocket cost would be under $1k for the M2 Pro and around 1.4-1.5k for the M4 Pro.

Which purchase makes the most sense considering I need to be upgrade sooner rather than later as I'm already seeing performance throttling on the air that's significantly affecting my productivity.

I am thinking of buying a macbook pro M3 (14in). I am currently using 2018 macbook pro intel (15in), and have used M3 max chip (16 in) before.

Given that the M4 chip is now released, and apple has taken down there M3 macbook pro, I am thinking of is it worth waiting for M3 chip price to drop on the other stores such as Best Buy? Looking for some insights!

Hey everyone, I need some help with my RGB Dexim DKA004 KBL-322 Gaming Keyboard. On Windows, everything works perfectly, and pressing the Scroll Lock key (located on F14) turns on the RGB backlight. However, when I connect the keyboard to my Mac, the Scroll Lock key doesn’t seem to work, and the RGB lighting won’t turn on. 

Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a solution for making the Scroll Lock/RGB toggle work on macOS? Any suggestions or fixes would be greatly appreciated!

As you can see, it cracked in this bottom left corner where it folds. is there a chance for the crack to move to the screen? should i be worried? could i maybe get that fixed? it did fall so its probably from that.

idk why but for the last two weeks I can't use my MacBook microphone during meetings and always have to select the input as my phone mic but that is so inconvenient, any idea why this is happening?

There is nothing sticky left on my MacBook but there is the image of what the sticker used to be very noticeably (it was a Jolteon lol). Thanks in advance for your help!
