Ayo, just got a wireless Xbox controller, what are some games you'd recommend that are best with a controller? have m2 16gb ram mini, native/crossover/whatever is fine
Just curious. Cause if I’m thinking of getting a console ps5 to play. Though I used to have a huge library in steam that I have since given up after I moved to MacBook Pro.
Hi ya’ll
I was able to start the game (well get to the homepage with the countdown, as well as fiddle with the settings) using the newest crossover on an m1 Mac.
I installed the launcher into a standalone bottle, running on D3Dmetal and E sync
I used the same workaround as the first POE to change the default resolution from Vulcan to DX12.
After downloading the client and launching once, the game crashed for me. I went into my document->games->then the POE2 folder and opened the config file. From there you navigate to where the resolution options are displayed and replace “Vulcan” with “DirectX12”
After that I ran the game again and it loaded right on up to the Home Screen.
Remains to be seen how gameplay will look and run but there’s some amount of hope that it just may work!
Basically the title. After years I feel the urge to play a good, fast fps game for bit.
I played UT2003, RTCW, most call of duty games... Is there anything similar to play natively or with wishkey / crossover for mac? Havent found anything comparable so far.
I got an M1 Pro
Do you think there is a way to transfer the performance of our laptops to the display of an iMac 4.5K despite the lack of an HDMI port ?
I'd like to play Call of Duty: Black Ops III with a good keyboard/mouse setup.
I see that a lot of topics and websites refer exclusively to the 2020 M1 chip.
Isn't that a limited choice for owners of more recent and powerful configurations ?
Figured I would give it a go since PoE 1 worked well on my Mac. (M3 Max, Crossover 24.0.5, D3DMetal with MSync).
All I had to do to get it working was change the Renderer to DirectX12
hi everyone! so i am not a mac user, i'm a windows user, but i want to get my friend who IS a mac user minecraft as a christmas gift. she uses macos sequoia 15.1.1, and i can't find a clear yes or no answer on whether or not it's compatible, so i want to know if anyone is playing minecraft on that version with no issues before i spend the money on it.
Hi, Could anyone with the M4 Max describe the difference in FPS they see in games on Low power mode compared to being on Automatic power mode? Thanks!
is there currently any way to implement newer versions of opengl after support was depracated?
Just downloaded and tried to play Marvel Rivals. Didn't have much time so just did some practice arena. And seems to be working perfectly.
First tried to launch with stable Crossover version, didn't go further than their custom Launcher. After using the Crossover Preview, Launcher game me a bunch of errors about outdated drivers, and old Windows version, but you can just ignore them.
Anyways, as mentioned above I didn't have enough time to test it out, but at least on Low Graphics and in Practice Arena, everything was smooth and worked perfectly with no stutters. I'd say solid 45-60 fps.
Just for reference I have M1 Max.
Will update the post after trying out more things
I gotta say apple made a good decision to make this one of the early Mac native ports, the whole game imo looks crazy good graphically, the Mac screen with hdr makes this game even more impressive. I highly recommend this game if your just looking for chill game, this is in my top 5 right behind cyberpunk Witcher and resident evil, the story is also very interesting
Does anyone know how to fix this problem. There's a video and thread where another guy had this issue https://www.reddit.com/r/macgaming/comments/1c5jgwj/fallout_4_with_crossover_24_play_well_except_the/
I'm getting this too on a different game. I have mouse acceleration off in the system settings. The strangest thing is that if I pull up the in game menus, the mouse moves over them smooth like butter. The problem is only in 3D in game mouse look.
How do I use 1440p in this game, it goes from 1080p to 4k when I try to switch it, I tried editing the config file but it uses a string value or something
My device is MacBook Pro running Sonoma 14.0 with Intel processor.
I want to emulate 8-32 bit games(such as NES, SNES, GBA) and maybe 64 bit games in the future.
Should I use a virtual machine like VirtualBox or Parallels or would running it on MacOS work fine as well?
Hi everyone, I've been trying to get lego skywalker saga to work through epic. I've tried using heroic launcher's wine, whisky, gptk, and nothing has worked. The closest ive gotten is through heroic wine but it quits after the seizure warning. With whisky it keeps loading forever, as it cant open a website. Others have said it worked but I havent gotten it to. :/ I appreciate any helo!
M2 16gb
Is there anything good?
i would love to play RL on my new m4 iMac, so i did some research and learned about heroic. i installed heroic, signed into epic games, downloaded RL and tried to play the game but every time i hit play it just flashes "launching" for 1 second then does nothing.

It seems that changing the settings does not affect anything. But there are always micro freezes, which in online games can decide the fate of a fight. Perhaps, if you play with the settings, the freezes will go away... I also don't know what will happen on a large, built-up server. All the best
Pardon my noob-ness to this, but I’ve read a bunch of threads and posts, videos, forums, and still can’t seem to figure this out.
I have a MacBook Pro M4 and trying to get GTA V to run. I followed this post and this video, installed Whiskey, Steam, then GTA V (all on an external HD, if that matters). I also followed the instructions from Whiskey’s documentation.
Every time I try to run it, I get an error saying “rockstar games launcher is already running” and can’t get past it.
What am I missing? TIA!
Is the performance supposed to be.... abysmal? I only have one game I play its pretty old too. From 2012 but it runs worse than on my 2011 business laptop. Is this computer just too weak to game or is it the emulation. I can't even get it to run smoothly at 640x480 or by flipping the custom settings switches like metal3d or msync. I heard so many good things about now being a great time to get into gaming on mac and how the new M4s were incredible.
Anyone know how to synchronize instances on mumu player pro? Is it even possible? All the tutorials online are for mumu on windows which is mumu player 12
I was looking at Wine skins recently and Whisky looks very promising.
So I picked up Fantasian on Steam despite havign played through most of it on MacOS years ago with the intent of playing it between my Steam Deck and my Macbook Pro. But it freezes on the Mistweaver screen on boot. As originally a mac game, I find this hilarious. XD I'm not crying you're crying.
Pretty much as per the title - I'll need to get round to getting a joypad for convenience at some point and really would rather avoid using a DualSense Bluetoothed (or even cabling it as the cable isn't supposed to be in the whole time, so the port on the joypad is always the weak spot and before you know it you can't charge it). Has anyone used a Wired DualShock 4 (or PS4 Pad) which I believe goes or a wired DualSense?
Having used a Wired XBOX360 pad for a decade (and the drivers no longer go on Apple Silicon - thanks Apple) I'd just rather stay wired if I can.
I finally was able to install GTA V on an M3 MAX however, the settings simply does not work. Whatever I do with Vsync its stays turned off. Resolution cant be changed, and somewhen performance is good somewhen it's horrible. Any tips?
Not super familiar with gaming on mac these days and had a pretty basic question: I had assumed if one were interested in using mouse and keyboard for gaming purposes on Mac, the magic mouse, or whatever you call the default mouse that comes with macs these days, would not be a great choice.
I assume it's better to have a mouse with a distinct right-clicking button and scroll wheel as opposed to the smooth, featureless surface of the magic mouse. I want to reintroduce my father to the world of computer gaming and he'll be on mac. I use mac, but seldom for gaming, and never liked the magic mouse.
My father however, doesn't seem to mind it, but he mostly just uses his mac to browse the web and watch youtube, not for any kind of keyboard and mouse gaming.
I'm having a hard time seeing the magic mouse being good for gaming but maybe I'm just too biased as I never liked it for any purpose. Do you guys use the magic mouse to game? And while I'm at it, if you use controller, do you have a preference? I was going to maybe get a PS4 controller since I mostly game on Sony consoles myself.
