When I tried to open the App Store on my 16 max pro, it said I needed to update the app. Unfortunately, since the AppStore wouldn’t open, I had no way to do it. Every time I would try to update the app, it would just take me to a safari page that would in turn take me back to the broken app. I decided to update the OS to iOS 18.1 in the hopes that would fix the App Store but I still had the same issue. I then deleted the App store hoping it would somehow magically reinstall a fresh version. Nope, App Store is gone. Restarted, turned screen time on and off, searched in the App Library and nothing shows up. Do you guys have any suggestions?

I bought iCloud under the understanding that I get at least 50GB more of storage (e.g. my iPhone has 128GB currently but with Icloud it would be 178GB in total). Is this not correct? Is there a way for me to use my local storage and Icloud simultaneously for different photos?

apple shared notes without my permission

I'm so freaked out right now and this is my first reddit post (because i'm so scared) so please forgive me. I was typing a note when i happened to go to the main screen and see the shared icon next to notes i definitely did not share. I clicked on them and there were two notes shared with the same person and both notes were drafts / notes about a conversation with that same person. I swear i did not accidentally share these notes. When i intend to share a note it takes me so long to figure out how to. I find it very hard to believe that if i did accidentally share this (which i highly doubt) how i could have accidentally shared two notes about a person TO said person—TWICE. One of the notes was a legit draft of a text message that i did copy and paste into a text with that person. Which of course it's 3am and i want to throw up after figuring this out and asked chat gpt, which said there could possibly be a "glitch" that occurs when copy/paste. Obviously that note was less sensitive sense it was a draft, however the other note was just bullet points i made of things i wanted to say in an upcoming phone call (private notes/thoughts to myself). Idk how accurate chat gpt is and i can't find anything on google but chat gpt said it's possible that apple detected the person's name within the note and somehow shared it with them without my knowledge?? Again, I want to reiterate that I highly doubt I accidentally shared it with this person definitely not TWICE with notes about this person. I understand apple can "suggest" people but like i would have been very aware of that since they were private and to that person.

I have deleted the notes and revoked access and reviewed the shared notes folder. There are several other notes that show shared with "somebody" but won't say who and when i click on the activity history it just says "participant".

My notes app is like my diary and it is so scary that this happened and there is not a way to disable the sharing feature permanently.

Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone have an idea of how/why this happened? I'd really appreciate anyone's thoughts! Thank you.

Would it be possible to use a battery of a newer Pro model and put it into the older Pro model phone? I was wondering if anybody tried and if it's compatible, sort of like an upgrade. 🤔

I don't have much tracks, that are running simultaneously.

I just want a stable workstation for Audio-Editing, Voice-Recording, rarely Video-Editing and Office-Stuff (Mails, Calendar, Browsing, etc.)

I want to switch from Windows 11 because my PC is from 2017 and gets slow now.

Apple devices I already have:

As I already own a lot of Apple Devices, I think it is clever to switch to Mac.

Now there are some options for the Mac Mini M4 (Pro).
Which option would be the right one for me?

• Mac Mini M4 16 GB RAM / 256 GB Storage
• Mac Mini M4 16 GB RAM / 512 GB Storage
• Mac Mini M4 24 GB RAM / 512 GB Storage
• Mac Mini M4 Pro 24 GB RAM / 512 GB Storage

I would go for an external large SSD-Drive for my Projects.

I also would leave the Windows PC and use it, maybe as a Gaming-PC (or is the Mac Mini M4 [Pro] capable of it?) so I would need a KVM, right? Or wouldn't I need the Windows-PC at all, because Mac Mini is capable for everything?

iPhone 15 user here. My mail app has bizarrely deleted my emails from the last 3 months. Strangely I have one or two between now and July.

I checked my junk and deleted folder to see if I had accidentally selected all and deleted but they’re not there either.

I’ve got 2TB of cloud storage so that shouldn’t be the issue as my iCloud says it’s got loads left.

I’m having a super frustrating issue with CarPlay in my 2023 Range Rover HSE. Ever since I updated to iOS 18.01 about a month ago, CarPlay started to glitch/flicker. This lasted for around 5 days, then magically worked fine for about a week then went back to being glitchy and stayed that way till now.

Thinking 18.1 would resolve it, I updated yesterday, but now it’s worse! CarPlay struggles to connect at all and keeps trying repeatedly. When it finally connects, it’s really glitchy, and if I try to play music, it disconnects again.

I’ve tried all the usual troubleshooting steps and i’m out of ideas and really hoping someone here might have a solution or workaround! Has anyone else faced this issue or found a fix?

All my notes are gone from on my iphone and ipad. I have recovered everything i can from icloud but it wasn't all of it. I tried turning sync on and off again and checking to see if they were backed up to any other email account but they were not.

My recently deleted folder doesn't exist and all my notes from august onwards are gone and others are not as i left them. Is there any other way to get them back or are they gone for good?

I was writing a novel on there and it's gone. Why did this happen and can i get them back?

The music media folder location is the same, I've updated the cloud library, and... nothing. Only some random songs will play, and the rest either just freeze or it will skip over loads of songs until it stops on a random one (which will either play or not). I've tried restarting, I've signed out and back in, I've authorised this computer, I've granted Music full access to my files, the library sync is checked. I really don't know what to do.

I ALWAYS have my read receipts off, but for the past 7 or so months they’ve been turning on randomly and people have been letting me know. It doesn’t happen after I reset my phone or anything, it quite literally just turns on randomly and I hate it so much. What do I do? when I’m on my phone, the screen will randomly go black while I’m using it, but all the iphones functions still work! like haptics and touchscreen. when I force reset it and leave it to sit for like 10 minutes then it works again but goes black after like a few minutes!! what do I do?

I use Apple products at home. I sent a pages document that has a password via outlook to my work computer that is Windows. Now when I go to open the attachment in an email from my personal email to my work email I see for one thing a PDF document thumbnail is in the email as the attachment instead of a pages document logo. I then get a pop up that says "Acrobat Reader - Adobe Acrobat Reader could not open [page document names] because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)."

I do not recall ever sending any pages doc this way, password protected or not. How do I gain access to this document at work on a Windows computer?

So I made a new Icloud and noticed that some of my photos and a hidden video was gone. I'm shared with my old Icloud and sharing the Icloud photos + plan just a few minutes ago but my video and photos still aren't back. Do I need to wait a bit for my photo and video to be restored after enabling Icloud photos?

A couple months ago I changed my screen time passcode to something and I have no idea what it is and in order for me to update my Face ID or passcode. I’ve spoken to Apple support and they have done seemingly nothing to help so this is my final try before giving up I guess. Does ANYONE know how to fix my issue, every time I try a passcode is just says failed attempt (I’ve tried 12 times and I now have to wait over an hour between each try).

My 13” MacBook Pro 2019 won’t boot into macOS

Normal startup from off result in chime loop, black screen

Internet recovery downloads but then fails to ‘launch’

Using target disk mode, shows my macOS partition but I cannot mount it on the host machine under disk utility (asks for password when I click the volume then does not mount)

I’ve tried PRAM reset also

I am able get the machine into DFU mode and on Apple Configurator with a host machine to a reset but this is last resort if it even works at all

**I can boot into Windows 11 (Bootcamp partition) absolutely fine using the option key However my macOS partition does not show under Windows explorer

Is there anyway to recover my files? Even from the Windows boot?

When I plug in my phone it only goes up to 0% maybe 1% but that’s it. I have to use a good extra charge, charger to even get it to go past the Apple logo start up without just shutting down again. When I am able to put my pin in and open up my phone everything works but yk kinda slow cuz it’s low battery, but then exactly 3 mins in it shuts down again. So it’s a cycle of starting up, 3 mins work, shut down. The tech guy I took it to says it might be best just to buy a new phone, because this “3 min rule “ means the motherboard is messed up, but I’m thinking it could also just be the need to replace the battery. I have to say I did drop my phone a while back and did get the battery removed and a 3rd party battery installed. This was around 5 months ago.

After connecting the magic trackpad I can scroll and left click, but can't scroll/two finger/swipe/etc. System settings for trackpad changed the one on my laptop but doesn't change the magic trackpad. Bluetooth did not autoconnect and I had to manually do so.

Oddly I changed the mouse sensitivity setting and it changed the scroll speed on the trackpad. Seems like it's getting picked up as a mouse?

Any clues on getting it properly connected? I have no other mouse software or anything installed aside from a magic mouse

Just upgraded from an iPhone 14 to a 16 Pro Max. Same Apple ID.

The problem I’m having is that my AirPods and AirTags are giving me the alerts as if they were tied to another user, like:

“The owner can see its location” “AirTag found moving with you”

However, these devices were purchased new and I have only ever paired them to my devices. My MBP still sees everything on Find My, but not the new phone.

I used Apple’s migration tool with both devices near each other to do the upgrade.

Any ideas? Thanks.

EDIT: The AirPods still work normally via Bluetooth.

 recently bought an iPhone 14 from an elderly lady who explained that it originally belonged to her son, but unfortunately, he passed away. She doesn't know any of the account information or how to unlock it. Does anyone know how I can bypass the owner lock or fix the phone? I really don't want it to end up as a $300 paperweight. If anyone has a solution that's either free or costs under $10, please share. I'd really appreciate any real advice-don't be shy, just let me know!

The main reason I want to do so is because I have many apps from my childhood that have since been deleted from both stores, on my android tablet. But I want the play store specifically because I can download those old apps through the play store’s settings because of Google data that was stored on like the 4 android devices I’ve had in my lifetime. It’s also for convenience sake considering for the past 4 years I mainly use Apple devices and the other android tablet it at least 7 years old by now, so it’s a little dusty. (If you were wondering the apps I’m talking about are specifically Disney crossy roads, a lion guard game, a random Lego freinds subway surfers ripoff, a decently o,d lion simulator game, and a dozen Cartoon Network games.)
