Hi guys, I came here for some advice; I am developing and programming embedded devices and also sometimes need to write companion apps for them. I've made good experiences using Microsoft Xamarin (now .net Maui) - I learned programming on .net and like the whole ecosystem.

Long story short, I currently use my (hogh end) Windows desktop (which I need for electrical and mechanical design) for programming and the MacInCloud service for compiling and publishing to the apple app store. But I am kind of fed up, as the virtual machine is dead slow, next to no emulation possible and I cannot update any software on it on my own. This is why I'd like to purchase a mac for this reason. I do not care if it is a laptop or desktop pc, I just don't want to spend more than necessary. Maybe someone could give me an advice what to buy (and what not)

I was just looking for musics on iTunes store when suddenly an app was just downloading on the menu, this was a game that I downloaded from Apple Arcade and my subscription has ended like 5months ago and deleted every game I downloaded from there,but now a game from the Apple Arcade was downloading on my phone without me knowing I immediately canceled it, i cant even go and download it anymore since my subscription is expired anyone know why did that happen, my apple id is very secured since i also have 2fa on it and never even use my phone to download anything malicious pls help

I recently learned that iCloud photos are now integrated with Windows photos meaning that my iCloud photos now appear in my windows photos app. Issue is, every single file loads painfully slow, especially videos. That problem doesn't exist on the iCloud web version. Any workarounds?

Hey, I've been dealing with this problem a lot this week and I need help. I have an iPhone 11 running the latest iOS, and since I updated, my wifi randomly freezes throughout the day, and it lasts for more than 10 minutes every time - which leaves me no choice but to force restart like 3-4 times a day. It's incredibly annoying, especially when I need access to my online bank or when using Google Maps.

Does anyone have the same problem as I do? Restarting is the only solution I know right now.

I’ve been getting this alert for WEEKS now about how I have AirPods Pro moving with me, but they’re my AirPods. They’re linked to my findmy account, I can play the sound from there and whatnot but I still endlessly get notifications about this. My AirPods were stolen not long ago but I got them back, I’m assuming that shouldn’t make any difference because it’s not like they were ever removed from my findmy account. What do I do and how do I get rid of this alert?

When looking at apple certified refurbished products, I wanted to see how much storage a specific model laptop would have and when looking at the storage count it said " 512gb 2" but instead of a 2 it was more like a squared symbol, does that mean there are two SSD's with 512gb each or something else.

I am connected to my home wifi network on my IPad Air with the latest software update. It shows 3 bars, but when I go on sites such as YouTube it won’t load anything, as if I wasn’t connected. The wifi still works perfectly fine for my iPhone and my family members’ devices. This has happened a couple times on my iPad before, where the wifi was only weird for my specific device, but it usually goes back to normal in a couple minutes. Except this time, it’s been happening for a couple days now. Can someone please help?

I’m a teacher and on my school gmail account I have my student’s parents saved as email contacts. I’m logged into my school email on my iPhone so that I can do work things on my phone when needed. But it’s driving me crazy that I have 49 “random” emails in my phone contact list.

I have already gone to Settings > Contacts > Accounts > Gmail and turned off “contacts.” When I first got this phone in October this fixed the problem but they have suddenly reappeared and this setting is still turned off. When I delete them from my contact list on my phone they are deleted from my contacts in gmail. Help please!!

I have lost all of my purchases, free games, paid games, apple ID funds, etc. Purchase history complete empty for Apple ID and shows no apps purchased on app store. My Apple ID has been inactive and I just recently performed an account recovery. I dont know the solution to the problem. Please help.

So I was at the gym and me and some other person’s Airpods cases were right next to each other. I took this person’s airpod case, but not the airpods, and want to get our cases switched back. I turned on lost mode, but I don’t know how it’ll respond to just the case opening. So, my question is: Will lost mode still work with just the airpods case and not the airpods themselves?

I have a FireStick with VLC on it, and for a while I had it set up to stream videos on my MacBook Pro through SMB. I got a new MacBook Pro today, updated it to Sonoma, migrated all my old data to it, and I can't get the SMB file sharing set up for VLC. I configured the Sharing preferences to use Windows file sharing and had it match the preferences on my old MacBook Pro, but when I tried connecting to the SMB server through VLC, although it detected the computer, it would not load an authentication screen, it would just spin and not load anything. I tried testing with the VLC iOS app, same thing.

I can't find anything on how to fix this. Is there anything I can do? Thank you.

I need an app that’s not available in the UK App Store. It is however available in the German App Store - and I’m staying in Germany at the moment. I am being asked to change the region of my Apple account to Germany if I want to be able to get this (free) app. But will that cause total chaos for my apps that I’ve installed back in the UK? For example, will they stop working?

Looking for some help with my father in law's iPad, I think it's a 4th or 5th gen?

The problem is that it is out of battery, but when it's plugged in it charges enough for it to boot up, the charging stops as the Apple boot screen shows, then the log in screen shows for a second and then the battery dies and the cycle begins anew.

I've tried holding the power button down while the boot screen shows, and I've tried holding both buttons down to try to force a shutdown, but it won't stay off.

Any advice?

I just upgraded to a M1 MacBook Air and I love the machine but messages don't consistently sync from what's on my phone. I used this all the time on the previous Macs I owned, so it's disappointing that the experience isn't the same. I've researched and tried some of the common fixes but nothing seems to fix it. Any tips?

My kids class has a group thread and with 25+ kids the conversation can get a little mean. I keep trying “leave the conversation” but still get messages. I check and no one is re-adding. Besides hiding notifications, how can I permanently leave the group?

Greetings. I have an iPhone 13, and I want to have a flash drive with videos stored on it so I can play videos on my iPhone without having the files stored on the device. I would like to play them in VLC Media Player.

I looked at normal USB and USB C flash drives for this task, but I cannot find a lighting adapter that supports playing videos through it.

I also looked for lighting flash drives. I found the SanDisk iXpand, but it seems to only be intended for backing up iPhones and doesn't work as a normal flash drive from the lighting port side.

Is what I'm wanting to do possible? Is there a better solution? Thanks in advance.

I was trying to buy some robux but when i tried the “buy with Apple Pay” option came up, where you have to double click the power button and use your Face ID. This does not work for me because of my family sharing, which has my parent’s card as the main card. When i try to buy things, it tries to charge my parent’s card instead of mine. I want to use my card to pay. I tried to delete my parent’s card but it didn’t not work, probably because they are the admin of the family sharing. How do i just pay with my card? Since it won’t give me an option to input my own card details when i try and buy the stuff and apple automatically tries to use Apple Pay and charge my parent’s card.

Over the weekend, I was spiked and had my phone stolen. It took me a week to get a new device and SIM card. I signed in today on my Apple ID and tried Find my Iphone which was no luck. I found out that you can sign devices out of Apple ID which is what I did by changing my password. I thought it would remove my photos and information on there but apparently it does not.However, as I did this, my IPhone came up as a listed device under this section which meant I could’ve clicked on it and reported it stolen in ICloud. It wasn’t there previously which is why I hastily signed it out. Is there anything I can do to fix this? My photos and information are incredibly private and could end up with me losing lots of money as I have tonnes of trading apps signed in with my IPhone passcodes as well as pictures of me and my Identifications which could cause me to get my identity stolen. PLEASE PLEASE HELP

I can only seem to zoom in a little bit on png files (I'm using reverse-pinch with two fingers). If I turn the png into a pdf, I can zoom in further (though there is still a limit). I'm using photos on my iPad as a reference for some drawings and I want to be able to zoom more, without having to make new versions of the files or make a PDF. What's the reason for this limit, and is there a setting I can change so I can zoom in more?

I'm just trying to scroll through a kindle book on my laptop. About half the times I try to swipe left to turn the page, some dumb fucking useless bar of news and stocks pops up on the right side of my screen. I have no idea what it's called or how to make it go away.

I'm just done with it. Every upgrade is full of useless junk. Things that make my experience worse. I have no desire to relearn how to use my computer every year or two.

I am taking photos on an iPhone 7 (replaced the battery recently so don't think there's an issue with it) and noticed when I airdrop some photos to my 2015 Macbook Air the colors look distorted on my Macbook with some pink and blue areas looking very faded and whitish compared to how it looks on my iPhone 7. The colors don't look weird like this when I airdrop the photos to my other iPhone 13.

I have considered two main explanations: either my Macbook is the issue as the battery has gotten old (currently at 1400 cycle battery cycles/5850 full charge capacity) and I just need to replace it, or my Macbook is still working normally and the lighting I use to take the photos is the issue, I have been using color gel filters to create specific hues and it is only on those photos that I notice this issue, the other photos taken under normal lighting environments look fine. Are specific colors hard to show on my Macbook so do I need to swap out the gel filters I use to solve this problem? (I've checked and the color profile on my Macbook is normal, set to Color LCD). I'm having a hard time figuring out what the problem even is and really need advice.
