informative post
Since I haven't found a "real" answer anywhere myself, or found a mixture of various workarounds through third party apps, I'm giving this information that I've obtained myself.
Apple music:
Streaming music to Apple Watch with eSim (LTE) without a phone is possible via Apple Music. And by that I mean even streaming music that you don't have stored in your library. Music can play through the watch speaker or to AirPods. I have not been able to connect my watch via Bluetooth to my car. It does find the car and start pairing, but it never ends successfully - I only have the Apple Car wired in my car, so I can't try it.
Youtube Music:
Doesn't work, as soon as you don't have your phone nearby the app reports an error message that it failed to connect to your phone and offers no menu.
Spotify and others:
I can't try, I don't have a subscription (someone can add in the comments)
I have the Apple watch series 10 46mm and I want to buy the Milanese loop for it, but I haven’t found it for the 46mm size anywhere, is it compatible with last year's band for the 45mm ones or the 46mm size isn’t released yet?
I picked up my new phone yesterday and did a device to device transfer. My two Apple watches synced without issue to the new phone. I have two more family watches that refuse to sync. I haven't erased my old phone and the watches still can connect to it however I receive the following error from the new phone.
There isn't a reset sync data option. Do i have any options other than resetting the watches and setting them back up as new?
It was miserable but this morning charged right smart and got warm but not hot. That's watchOS 11.0.1.
that is all
Hey all, about 4 months ago I bought the Apple Watch SE. so far was really enjoying it but over the past few days the battery has been draining in an insane level. To the point I need to charge it every day. I don’t know if the most recent update is the reason why, but I’d like to see if anyone else has been through this.
So. I was going out for a run yesterday but the AirPods would not pair to my S8 AW. They don’t even show up! (The BL-XK01 is my neighbour’s). I’ve tried reset everything and the AirPods Pro work fine on my iPhone 15 (who has by the way had real struggles with iOS 18 with battery drainage). Anyone has any ide how to fix this? I’m furious. Paying all these money and things not working properly. So sick of it all.
I'd love to buy a cheaper old watch, like a series 6 or so. But I don't know which colour to go for as I can't seem to find a single comprehensive site or post comparing all options (aluminium, stainless etc.)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hey, i recently took up indoor climbing with some friends from work and used the work out on the watch how accurate is it? Should I trust the metrics?
Is my watch usable? Yes. Is it readable? Yes, but barely. I had a cycling accident last week that landed me in the hospital for a few days. (I’m fine.) I hate knowing I won’t have an oxygen sensor if I upgrade. I found a reliable source to replace the glass on my Series 8 for just shy of $100. Is upgrading to a Series 10 from my Series 8 a better option?
I have a watch band for the 40 mm Series 4. Will it work with a series 10 42 mm?
Hi,
I was wondering if the ranges of the new Vitals App are somehow dynamic, meaning that if your hear rate lowers over time due to being more active, does the new heart rate become the new "normal" range?
Just realized that i can swipe down/up on 2 left/right curve edges of the watch to view notifications or smart widgets instead of having to swipe from top all the way to bottom which left fingerpirnt on the screen. I feel this even more convenient than using the digital crown to show notifications
This might not be that ideal on apple watch ultra btw due to its flat screen
Just about 30 hours (unless I’m bad at math) on an almost full charge. One 30 minute outdoor activity and 8 hours of sleep tracking, everything else was normal everyday use. S10 46mm titanium, AOD on. Not bad.
I'm using the modular watch face and as title says, it used to show me the artist and title of the song and now it just shows recently played stuff. Any tips on getting it back?
Any 3rd party ways of fixing this?
So i bought an apple watch ultra.. when i recieved it, the battery health was at 100%, one day later it went down to 96%.. i looked online and i found similar cases that said the reason might be because it wasn't used for a long time.... but i'm not so sure""
Otherwise i charged it fully and it did 50 hours with normal use (sport tracking, sleep tracking, always on display on..) what y'all think?
I have an iPhone 12 and had to get it replaced today due to touch screen issues. The replacement phone had iOS 18 on it but I was able to downgrade and restore a backup from iOS 17, however my watch still won't pair. My watch was pairing fine with my old phone using iOS 17.7 before this whole debacle. Is there anything I can do? How far would I need to downgrade in order to be able to sync my watch, and unpair it to create a backup? I don't have a new watch yet but was planning on getting one before the end of the year. (Unfortunately I was holding out for the Ultra to come in different sizes but with no luck; it is just too big for my wrist no matter how many times I try it!) My plan would be to use a lower version of iOS, sync my watch to that, then unpair it. Then I would get a new watch and hopefully still have all my data and backgrounds and whatnot. Either I'd pair the watch first or upgrade my phone first?
Anyone have luck with this? I'm so bummed that the Series 3 is no longer supported. My watch is in perfect condition and I used it for a swim yesterday with no problems.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Hy everyone, I found an Apple Watch and I tried to contact the owners etc but to no success now t’s locked. I tryed handing it in to Apple but they don’t take it and I should bring it to the police, but it will never reach the person who owns it at the police, because it needs to be registered as lost so they can find the owners but they don’t send it overseas.
This is in Japan Hokkaido found it in Niseko where I gras cut in front of a rental property that was not in use for 4 month before I found it and it looks like the person is in Hong Kong and Singapore.
Shame to juck it away can anyone give me tips to get it to its owner or to unlock it. I have a smart watch already would likely give it to some friends …. Shame do throw away
I have an Ultra 2 and I’m trying to use the Vitals app. When I check my O2, it keeps saying “6 sleep sessions needed”. I use my watch to track my sleep already, but for some reason it doesn’t grab the O2 reading. I can run the regular Blood Oxygen app just fine.
Anyone else have this? Any suggestions?
I have a question about watch battery replacement. My Series 6‘s battery life is down to 74%. I know I can get the battery serviced for $99. My issue is that there is a crack on the back of my watch from a fall. Will Apples still service the watch if the watch has damage? The crack is a hairline crack on the back edge and doesn’t touch the sensor.
I’ve recently switched to an Ultra 2 from a 5 year old Apple Watch.
While I love the new watch, it seems the crown keeps touching my wrist at random and turning on the screen. I tried flipping the watch so the crown faces the other way, but it’s still happening.
Has anyone had the same problem and have you found anything that helps?
I just got my first Apple Watch (yay!) but it’s taking absolutely forever to update. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, but I really want to use it by tomorrow. Any advice?
Hi guys! I just got my first watch (series 6) as a gift from a friend. I’m having a ton of fun! What are your guys favorite fun, silly etc. apps that make the health apps fun? I have waterllama and I already drink plenty of water daily but it’s still something silly and lighthearted that I look forward to; just as an example! I use it to track my overall health, medicines, water, habits, and sleep. I love Pokémon sleep as well but haven’t done much yet!
I bought an ultra 2 solely for the better battery life. I’ve been happy with it so far. I’ve tuned the settings to fit what I want and expect out of my watch. For me, personally, it’s a health monitoring device first, watch second and iPhone companion third. That’s means no low power mode because it turns off vitals, less heart readings, less actuate calorie counting.
This is what I did to get the best battery life while not compromising the functionality I value.
Haptics: off Crown haptics: off System haptics: off (This is the setting Im mostly to turn back on later) 2. Brightness all the way down 3. Auto night mode: off (it’s a cool feature but it means the watch is constantly measuring light levels) 4. Hey siri: off (means the watch isn’t constantly listening for “Hey Siri”) 5. Raise to speak: off (again cool feature but, manually activating Siri is fine for me. I often use my phone for Siri anyway) 6. Wake on wrist raise: off (however always on display is ON. This minimizes the watch waking up on accident) 7. Cellular: off (I’ll turn it on if I need it. There is even a shortcut for it in the control menu) 8. Background app refresh: off 9. I meticulously decide what app can send me notifications on my watch. 10. Uninstalled now playing app. (This is more about I didn’t like looking at my watch and NOT seeing the time 😐 but it also may save some battery life)
This is sorta kinda a permanent or always on low power mode but (again) actually putting it in low power mode turns off the features I value most.
My favorite new feature is the car finder and backtrack in the compass app. Backtrack is literally a life saving feature 💯 (just listen to a mrballen’s podcast episodes that talk about people going missing in the wilderness)
If you’re considering buying an Apple Watch this year (2024) buy an ultra 1 (I only got Ultra 2 because I could finance it interest free) It’s cheaper on Amazon than all but the base series 10 and has a better battery life and more features. Unless the thing you like is that it’s thinner then you have to have the series 10 HOWEVER I would highly recommend looking at series 10 in person before deciding based on how thin the watch is.
Cheers
