has any important bug been fixed in 14.5?
So basically normally when I'm on my desktop my stage manager is just there without needing my cursor to be over it, but just now I think i accidentally pressed something and now every time I go to my desktop it can't stay hovering over my desktop on its own and just hides into the left of the screen unless my cursor is touching it. How can I restore that?
I am creating a virtual machine for MacOS Sonoma (beta) but in the middle of installing macOS a screen appears that says select boot disk, but none appears, I did the tutorial perfectly as it said, and at no time did it say that this would appear , I try to erase the disk and restore it with MacOS Disk Utility, but it doesn't work. The iso file is perfectly fine and I don't know what to do, please help me. Or tell me if this is the wrong forum and which forum should I go to. thank you.
Hi!
My issues have started way back in January witrh Universal Clipboard not working so I relogged into iCloud on both iPhone and Macbook - didn't work. Suddenly it fixed itself so I didn't do anything about it and now the same issue, but this time nothing works and I checked other things such as AirDrop and it seems to be AirDrop problem. I can connect my BT devices to my laptop, but not my iPhone and vice versa, I can't connect my laptop to my iPhone. Is there a fix for this?
Edit: After more checking, I realized that the Beta 2 release was a for Developer Beta and not Public. AND I FINALLY FOUND OUT HOW TO TURN ON THE TOGGLE FOR DEVELOPER LOL
My initial post was looking for a workaround because Beta 1 disabled my external monitor. I've heard a couple of people got this issue fixed when Beta 2 rolled out earlier today. However, I haven't received a notification for it - and the support cannot recommend anything else but restore the Mac (I don't have a Time Machine backup yet).
I saw similar issues in previous versions here which might not apply to Sonoma. Any tips on this? I was hoping that an update would appear soon, but when it did, it didn't appear on mine lol
STEPS I'VE TAKEN SO FAR:
I'm just desperately in need of getting my screen back because it slows down my workflow process. I bought an SSD and will try to move files from an HDD there, and will backup my MacBook for sure but it might take a while (I just ordered a new one). As much as possible, I want this as my last resort but if comes to it, I might just have to restore it :(
Thank you!
As title. Thank you Apple. You just solved the problem. Now I have my external monitor back and everything seems so BIG now. :tada:
update: just received their reply:
In the latest update as of the other day, the unlock with Apple Watch toggle will not stay on. When I do toggle it, I get asked for my password then a message saying my watch needs to be signed into iCloud. Which it is, I verified by looking under signed in devices on iCloud.com
Anyone else experiencing this annoying phenomenon?
A few years ago, I took my iPhone 5s and decided to update, but this one never came back to life. It just died. Since then, I haven't updated any of my devices, I buy them and ignore the update.
Now, I can't use my laptop because every program, even Chrome is asking me to update, but I'm afraid. The laptop is working great otherwise, and I don't have the money to buy a new one.
That's why I am asking if any of you have updated to Monterrey and if the laptop is still ok. I have never updated the laptop, the version I have now is El Capitan 10.11.6
Thank you
[UPDATE: ALREADY SOLVED IT!!]
I posted this over MacOS sub as well. Definitely learned it the hard way not to rely on Beta. But I wanted to post this here in case anyone has any suggestions. If not, I think I’ll just have to wait for a new update, hope it fixes the issue and then fully opt out of the succeeding beta versions.
I didn’t know that this could be a possibility. I had extra time to update my OS (Macbook Air M1) so I did it earlier. After the update, it stopped detecting my HP 24f Monitor.
Anyone who got a successful solution to fix this? I need the second monitor for my work since I do a lot of editing and multitasking. :(
I read several threads already (since this has been an ongoing issue even for the past OS, apparently). Some said change the thunderbolt cable (I use one which connects my HDMI cord to the computer, as well as extra ports. I know the USB ports work perfectly); some workaround through the terminal which I’m not quite familiar with; removing the monitor from the power source. I even considered cleaning my computer but I do have to back up a lot of things and it doesn’t even guarantee that it’d work.
I just want to know if anyone else has experienced this recently and if there’s an updated fix you’ve tried.
Thank you!
I just updated to the latest beta (23F5049f) and my Samsung 32" 4K monitor now only maxes out at 1920x1080.
Higher display settings are no longer available, even after reboots, reconnections.
Any ideas?
How can I turn on vertical scrolling in Books on Mac? It exists on every other platform, but not the Mac :(
Hi! I am trying to understand what caused all of my problems. I recently updated to the latest beta of Sonoma, let the update finish and tried to log-in, I got stuck on the loading bar right after. I tried to go to recovery mode and everything went smoothly, first aid seemed to have worked so I booted again, facing the same bug. I decided to re-install the update but, recovery mode doesn’t manage to connect to the WiFi, it’s the same WiFi I am connected with all my other devices, I even tried Ethernet. Did anyone experience anything similar? Thanks!
I just submitted some feedback via Feedback Assistant. I'm curious about how long I should expect before they read my feedback and reply.

Hey everyone!
I want to access my MacPro 5,1 running High Sierra in France from my Macbook in Canada that's running Catalina. I want to be able to update the OS in France by using a Remote Access App in Canada.
Any suggestions? I've tried Tailscale but it's not compatible with High Sierra.
Thanks in advance!!
someone else has problems with ventura 13.6.5, half of my applications are not working after the update.I don't know how to fix it. almost everything that I use it for work, it doesn't work
I’ve been wanting to test the first beta since the final release of 14.0 to compare them
I use my macbook pro M2 pro for my house desk setup. it comes with 140W Magsafe charger.
My setup has
- Acasis 100W powered usb C hub with 4TB NVME SSD (consumes some good amount of power)
- QHD Type C Monitor with 65W power delivery via single type C Cable.
- the original macbook chager.
I am very confused on how to charge the laptop with all these connected together.
There are 2 senarios:
Senario 1:
Connecting the 140W macbook charger to the USB hub to power the hub itself through a typeC to typeC cable, and the remaining power charges the laptop (Around 20W goes to the hub & 80W Goes to the macbook)
This Senario reduces that the hub eats power from the macbook battery.
Senario 2:
Connecting the 140W magsafe to the macbook directly and power the hub from the macbook. which circulates the enegergy through the macbook first to power the hub.
in both Senarios the Monitor is connected through the Type C cables which gives the laptop another 65W of power. but the laptop decides to ignore it since the laptop is plugged in with other source. (can be changed to HDMI, Please advice if this is dangerous)
The main goal is to reserve the macbook battery, I don't care about anything else.
I have a 2019 13" MacBook Pro. Compared to pre-Beta, it's going through the battery super-fast. It had a full charge when I got up about an hour ago, and now at 69% of moderate use (mostly browser). I'm also seeing really odd details in Activity Monitor (it shows 9 hours on battery--I just pulled it off, like I said, an hour ago). Previously, it would be down much less (90%ish).
Also: old behavior was I could open it up and it'd wake after charging overnight but not fully turning it off. Now, I have to explicitly hit the power button.
I've reset the SMC, and still get the same outcome.
I've submitted a bug, but anyone else have this?
I wanted to launch MacOS Sonoma beta on VMware. I did as it is written, but it loading and then its restarting with text “Your computer rebooted because of the problem”, and after several restarts, appears site Support.Apple.com/mac/startup
if there any errors here, sorry, I just don't know English i'm from Russia
