I ordered an aftermarket Android tab/panel with wireless CarPlay functionality builtin for my car from AliExpress. It worked great with my iPhone XR and I was happy with my purchase for many months.
However, I later upgraded to iPhone 15PM but the CarPlay is not working anymore. My phone connects to the Android tab/panel just fine, but when I open the CarPlay application it tries to connect but every time it gives me “CarPlay is disconnected” message.
Did Apple removed CarPlay functionality from non-OEM infotainment systems with new models of iPhone?
I would really appreciate any help in resolving this issue.
Note: The issue came up when I changed my phone, even before upgrading to IOS 18.
Wiring
My radio harness have to separate wires for amp on and power antenna but the car play has amp on and power antenna share one wire any advice?
Hi:
I just received this carplay box for my 2016 BMW F23 (M235i conv).
Anyone know who the oem is, and if there are any online support resources, website/etc.:
I’m driving a loaner equipped with it and it’s a pain, I like to sit in my car and use my phone but there doesn’t seem to be a quick way to disconnect except unpairing it and repairing every time, and somehow someway wireless CarPlay is still in use if I turn off Bluetooth (Edit: The fix interestingly enough was turning ON WiFi)
Hello, I am new to carplay. Almost every time I get in the car, I keep having to mess around in my phone settings to get it to connect. It's very annoying. I found that disabling and then re-enabling carplay in my phone settings works, but I really do not want to do this every single time. It's very annoying. I'm on an iPhone 15 pro with the latest software. The car just keeps telling me to "check phone for messages" and waits for it to connect until I toggle the setting for Carplay. Any fix? Or improvements on this method at all? Lol
I have a K4811 head unit based.
it have Zlink5 installed from factory
I'm been using Carlinkit CPC200-CCPA, but the device have annoying little details.
Example, I can't match the music and call levels, music is ok, call and voice messages are low.
I tried the "audio classified" feature, but I failed.
I give a chance to Zlink app, which surprisingly, works pretty well, and, the music and call levels match!
But, the mic volume is so low. The people which I call barely ear me.
I raised the mic level in android features and I selected external mic, but no joy.
Anyone knows how raise the mic level?
Does anyone else have a problem with wireless Apple CarPlay? Mine connects immediately and works without issue for a day or so. Then, while it connects and starts playback, the internet connectivity is limited (Siri not working, Google Maps not loading, etc.). To resolve it, I have to go into the phone: Settings, WiFi and “forget” the CarPlay connection. When I re-select it, the problem is resolved for a couple of days. Cycle repeats.
2023 Nissan Frontier Pro 4X with the latest Nissan software update and an iPhone 15 Pro Max (iOS 18.1.1). I’ve had the truck for less than a week so I don’t know if the problem is repeatable with a wired connection.
Anyone else had this or something similar?
I’ve done a few searches but haven’t found anything. At the end of 2024, are there any Voice Memo- or Just Press Record-like apps that are compatible with CarPlay and offer selectable playback?
I’ve been memorizing passages, and I like to record them as snippets of individual lines. That way, I can keep replaying and reciting them during my incredibly long commute each day until I have them committed to memory.
I guess I could some kind of a phone mount, but I’d really prefer to just choose the audio clips directly from CarPlay—if such an app exists.
Started this morning and I’m not sure what to do. I can hear but they can’t hear me.
But the weird part is that Siri CAN hear me and respond. I restarted my phone
Car is a Lexus NX300 2018
Got iPhone 15promax. The music volume is working good, however when I get text msgs, or phone notifications, the volume is very high and I can’t control it. All of a sudden I get very high volume notifications which are disturbing. Anyone knows how to reduce notifications volume for the CarPlay? iOS is the most updated. Thanks.
I am getting sick of my mobiles small screen when I drive so I would like to have carplay. What is
🔹The cheapest solution?
🔹 The easiest solution?
I select a route on Google Maps on my iPhone. Then after CarPlay is connected, I do "start in CarPlay." I assume the route shown is the route in my car screen I've selected... But it isn't. And I only find out as I'm driving.
This is incredibly frustrating, especially when I want to take a scenic route that takes 5 extra minutes, but it defaults to the boring, but more efficient route, even when I selected the scenic route.
Does this happen to anyone else?
Hi all, I have a 2020 Rogue Sport with less than 100k miles, and l've had it for almost a year.
I got it in January, discovered it supported Apple CarPlay around April, and had been using it with my IPhone 15 Plus ever since. However, sometime in September, I had connected my boyfriend's phone to CarPlay. Ever since, his phone is able to connect, but mine won't.
Ive tried several different cables; new ones, old ones that previously connected my phone, but not an Apple branded one. (But honestly, if my boyfriend is able to connect without an Apple branded usb, and I was previously able to, I don't think that having an Apple branded cable is the issue.)
I've tried resetting the infotainment system by holding the power down for 10 seconds. Each time it successfully restarts, but CarPlay still fails to connect to my phone. I've factory reset all the settings and network settings in the car, forgotten all phones it had previously connected to (including my boyfriends), still to no avail.
I've reset all settings and network settings in my phone, as well. I've forgotten my car in the CarPlay settings, but now I can't connect it at all. My boyfriend has removed all traces of my car on his phone, as well.
Siri is activated, location services are active, I have no von (though it used to connect fine while my von was active.) No apps installed on my phone that could be interrupting CarPlay from starting, I think.
My car isn't detecting a USB connection at all. I am using data cables, and I am using the data uso port in my car. Both my phone and my car are fully updated.
If anyone has any suggestions or advice, or even struggling with the same issue, please let me know! I've been struggling with this for over a month now.
Seems like a lot of people having issues but wanted to ask anyway.
Got a 16 pro max on Friday. After turning on content and privacy restrictions and enabling Siri (which I saw suggested online) car play worked fine. It worked all weekend without a hitch.
Last night my phone updated to 18.1.1 and this morning CarPlay would not work at all. Content and privacy restrictions are still enabled, Siri is still turned on, everything seems to be the same as it was before. I used the same cable I was using this weekend and nothing. Going to try some other cables I have laying around but was hoping someone on here might have some other ideas.
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks!
Not sure if this is the right place to ask but I'm looking into Renault Megane (2012) carplays and I've looked around at a few, and I've came across a website called DriveCast which is UK based, but I can't find any reviews on the website itself. I've been scammed in the past so I'm extra cautious with this type of thing now, so I was wondering if anyone's actually ordered from here or anyone can direct me to a website where it'll tell me if it's legit or not? Thanks!!
I was debating on getting my boyfriend a CarPlay adapter for his work truck allowing him to watch videos while he’s out in the field working. The main videos I’m interested in is allowing him to watch live sports while he’s at the pump sites and not having to just use his phone, because I know a lot of them Hulu but some of them I noticed not any recommendations would help thank you.
Work truck does currently have Apple CarPlay. I’m just looking to allow it to play videos outside of what Apple CarPlay offers.
Has anyone ever fixed this problem on aftermarket Mitsubishi asx navi? Thanks
I got the Ottocast P3 Lite, and I downloaded VLC because for some reason the default video player had ads. When the device reboots, file access is removed from VLC. Does anyone know how to fix this? Or is there a device that I could swap the P3 Lite for that definitely doesn't have the same issue?
I want to get Apple CarPlay for my 1998 Nissan Micra (obviously doesn’t have CarPlay as a standard.) but my car doesn’t have a cigarette lighter, every wireless CarPlay unit I see is powered by a cigarette lighter and obviously as I don’t have one I don’t know what to do. Is there any units powered by usb, or is there something I can do/ an adapter I can use? I’ve been searching for solutions but have drawn a blank.
UPDATE: got one installed by someone for £25
I have a 2001 Volvo V70 XC and I want to put a Wireless Apple CarPlay in it. I don’t want to spend a ton on it, but I also want one that will work day-to-day. Does anyone have recommendations for some under $200 and some other recommendations under $400. I know those are 2 different ranges but I’m wondering if there’s a dramatic difference between them or if it’d be fine.
I have had CarPlay installed through a third party MMI type physical unit in my 2018 BMW 220i. It has been working fine for the 3 months that I have had it until today. The screen suddenly turned black while I was navigating - I long pressed the “menu” button to get back to my usual iDrive system which works fine.
I’ve tried switching my car on and off and trying to switch in between the iDrive and CarPlay systems, the former works fine but the display just goes black everytime I try going back to CarPlay mode.
Does anyone have any advice please? TIA
I have the iPhone 15 pro and got it last year we also got a new vehicle and as soon as we got it I connected my CarPlay. It connected wirelessly and worked for a good month or two and then it just stopped connecting wirelessly. The only way it works is if I connected it with a wire. My phone is the only one that doesn’t connect also tried it on my mom truck and doesn’t connect either. Does anyone know what could be the issue? I have tried to everything google suggested even takes to Apple. But nothing has worked. Just for reference it does connect with Bluetooth but it does not work on CarPlay.
I have a 2006 Honda civic and I installed CarPlay in it. It’s wired connection and it worked fine with my iPhone 12 (used a USB A to lightning cable). Now with my iPhone 16, it no longer works even though I use a USB A to USB C cable. This may be because I am using a cable from my Switch pro controller , not sure if the wire has the same abilities as a regular USB A to C cable as it’s just used for charging the controller. Do I need to buy a cable from Apple to make this work? Why else would my wired connection not work? I need some tips, I can send pictures if needed of what is going on.

thanks
Whenever I use carplay I have to shuffle my playlist. Every time. I don't want to hear songs I heard on my last drive lmao. Is there a way to resume where it last left off as if I was doing it on my phone? Or will I always have to restart the queue?
Hello, I just got a 2022 chevy malibu, and it has an OnStar trial active. When my trial runs out, will I be required to pay for anything to use wireless carplay? Or only wired?
