hey, hope you,re doing fine, look, im obsessesed with old apple tech, and i wanted to make an ipod the most similar possible to an imac g3, cauld any of you please help me with liks for the parts? 5th gen btw.
Hello guys, could you recommend some good Bluetooth transmitters that you use, are durable, and have good sound quality?
I have a 5th generation iPod classic that still works (30GB). I have never opened it up. Given the age of the iPod, do I need to open it up and check if the battery is leaking?
I don't have iTunes on my iMac. I have Apple Music. How do I delete albums from my 5th generation iPod classic? If I go into finder and select Manage Storage, I see that I can select individual songs. I would like to delete entire albums. How do I do that?
Update: solved
A few days ago during a blackout I was using the rest of my laptops battery to transfer a movie over to my iPod to watch later. After it transferred, Everytime I would plug my iPod into my PC, it would crash file explorer until it was unplugged. The iPod however, still worked just fine with the songs I already had on it, both in apple mode and in rockbox. Since I couldn't format it with windows and it kept crashing any file explorer I'd put it into, I just tried deleting all the files through rockbox which still didn't work. Is the harddrive dead? It doesn't sound weird and it claims it's only been used for 17 hours (must have been brand new when I got it at Goodwill lol, all that's from me) so it still should have a lot of life.
Anyone know what I can do to fix it? I know I can flashmod it and will do that if necessary, but I really think the file system of the drive just got corrupted and it just needs reformating. However since it just crashes whatever I plug it into, I don't know how to.
Sorry for a dumb question I'm new to this. I head a 5.5 is the best to mod is this one considered a 5.5?
Some fine IEMs for listening to ALACs.
As title suggests, I'm looking for an iPod Mini case if they're still being sold? I did a quick search around on Google and most of them are either wicked expensive or haven't been sold for over a decade.
Found my old shuffle and when I connect it to a PC with iTunes iTunes crashes. When I disconnect the shuffle iTunes works. I tried connecting to a MacBook and it does not see it either. The charging light flashes when connected to the computer.
I bought a PCIE firewire card for my windows 11 machine, but it's only good to charge the ipods. I think I don't have the right drivers installed to be able to sync my ipod. I couldn't find any online for windows 11, either. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to make it work?
do any of you guys know where i can buy ipod cases in india? i cant seem to find any place!
It drops from 100 to 20 and goes up when charged for 3 seconds. I don't want another dead one like my air fried touch 3
So I had an old 4th gen photo and tried to flash drive mod it but it didn’t work (it’s after the HDD death msg came) I want to get a new one with same specs. But I am hesitant to do a flash mod due to prior experience. So I wanted to ask if I should do it or not ??
People from Europe, where do you buy your batteries for modding classic iPods?
Few of them are flash modded 128gb if anyone is interested in buying them DM me but selling only in india
My mom crocheted me a sock for my iPod!
I own a 2gb iPod Shuffle 3rd generation and after I unplug it it won’t turn on. Please help as I am trying to use it as a daily driver
I have two disabled iPod Touches from my childhood: a 4th-generation and a 5th-generation. The 5th-generation has an Apple ID I used literally only on that device, whose user and password I've completely forgotten. I don't even remember what the hell the 4th-generation was using (I was a very young child). Is there any possible way for me to restore these without erasing them?
I just did a lil upgrade on iPod mini , but now that I connect and attempt to restore on windows it keeps popping up to format drive every time putting me in a loop of never restoring
title, basically. I plugged this in to take my old photos off of it, and while scrolling through them about 5 min into use, it went white and sent itself into a boot loop. any hope for the photos? if not, any hope for the device?
I lost my 80GB 5th Gen many years ago, which is when I just started using my Spotify. I miss it terribly. Is there any trusted site for older Ipods, such as “DKOldies” is for retro video games?
i’m running into an issue with getting cheap sd to cf adapters to support tf cards larger than 128gb. as far as i know, all the popular adapters like iflash and imcort use the fc1307a chipset, which has several firmware versions available online, such as on the internet archive.
the problem is, these cheap adapters don’t support lba-48bit addressing. once storage exceeds 137.4gb ( above 128gb tf cards) , the device won’t recognize it properly, and the ipod will show zero music files.
since iflash and imcort adapters don’t seem to have this limitation, i’m guessing they might be using a custom or updated firmware. if anyone has managed to extract their firmware and flash it onto cheaper adapters, it’d be amazing to hear how you did it!
