Everytime I ask Siri to turn on subtitles/captions the message “I am having trouble getting the available languages” pops up. Is this a known issue ?
I have two HomePods in stereo pair and second set of 2.1 speakers connected with AirPlay 2 through a Wiim amp. Both sets of speakers are placed in the “Livingroom” in the Home app.
I’m really happy how it sounds with both sets of speakers playing, except when I turn on the applet tv it will default to just playing through the HomePods and I have to enable the second set of speakers each time.
I know this is an unusual setup, but is there a setting I’m missing to have the Apple TV play over both sets of speakers by default?
Thanks in advance!
I recently started to get into growing my digital library, and I was curious if anyone double dips. I ended up doing so by accident, before I was aware about specific details (again, I am new to digital buying for movies).
With that being said, I am happy with some double dipped purchases, like with Digimon Adventure 02, which comes in sub and dub on Vudu, while is only dubbed on Apple. Also, I use the browser video often (two windows to multi-task, one with the movie/show and the other for work/browsing), so Apple's lack of one is a bit annoying, but I can get used to the player.
May I ask for your opinion?
As the title says! I click a button and no response. Sorry I don’t know names for the buttons. I know volume and I don’t have an issue with that. Also mute is fine pause/play is fine too. It’s the other three. When I want to switch apps (I’m gonna call it the home button) the one just above volume. Some times it takes several clicks before the screen with app will open. Once open the button next to the home button, might or might not work. I’m going to call it the back button. The the big button. Let’s call it the select button. If I’m in the top left app and want to move to another app. I think I should be able to press the down arrow, or right. After several attempts, it doesn’t move one but likely to go far as possible. Once I click up, left, right, (cuss a few times) finally get to the app I want. Press big center button half dozen times maybe open the app. Now I need to search the app for the program. Doesn’t matter what part of the remote I press, I’m back to the top left app🤷🏻♂️
I have a first gen 4k Apple TV (2017). Over the past six months or so I’m having repeated issues with the sound dropping. At first it was fixable with the reset the remote issue. Now I have to unplug the power strip for a full reset of everything to fix it. Anyone think upgrading the Apple tv would be a permanent fix? I bought a new soundbar a few months ago thinking that was the issue, but apparently not. Don’t want to drop the $130 if it’s a different issue.
We have an ~11 year old Samsung smart tv that's gotten really slow to the point it isn't usable.
We are looking for a new set up, so would it be worth getting a new tv with better features in addition to apple tv, or use the apple tv on the old Samsung?
Does anyone use their atv with Rogers or Telus tv service? I am thinking about getting the parents an atv but have no experience with using it with atv service.
Hello everyone, recently i bought Apple TV 4K 128GB, i found out that it doesn’t support 120hz refresh rate, are there any better options nowadays than apple tv?
I wonder when Apple will add the iTunes Extras for Dracula (1931) for the 4K version. The steelbook and Blu-ray have an assortment of extras that I would love to see and hear. At present, there are no extras at all.
I just got an Apple TV 4k, and I would like to be able to control volume via my phone and HomePod, but no matter what I do, HDMI-CEC simply won't work. Samsung has an entire setting dedicated to toggling CEC, yet it still won't work. I have tried three different HDMI cables, including one brand new one that supports it. I've factory reset both the ATV and TV. Tried different ports, practically everything you could imagine.
I'm purchasing a new home and am struggling to find a way to have whole home audio throughout my house including my soundbar system without having to purchase a sonos arc and surround set up.
If possible, I'd love to have the samsung q990c/d set up, and have a way to set up my audio in rare times to both have music or tv through my sonos speakers (ceiling speakers powered through an amp and stand alone sonos ones) and my living room home theater. I know natively those don't work together, but is it possible to allow them to play together via Apple TV and Airplay?
I don't imagine there being many times where I'd want to have the soundbar system and my sonos speakers playing the same music, but I'd love for that to be possible. I imagine there will be less times I want the TV audio transmitted throughout the house, so if I can only do music I'd be okay with it.
Any thoughts or recommendations to if this would work? Thanks!
Hello everyone, I finally bought my OLED C3 and i bought apple tv along with it, since the only tvos i knew from mid range tv s are not perfect, actually they are very bad and laggy. So i bought that apple tv and also experienced that webos on C3, works amazingly perfect and smooth, and tv also comes with an AirPlay so you can share everything from your iphone. My question is do i really need Apple TV in long perspective?
I’m trying to use the Zoom app on my AppleTV with continuity camera, but in order to have the eyeline line up I need to keep the phone mounted higher and closer to the TV.
But if I do that, the audio obviously suffers since the phone is now so much farther from me.
Is there a way to use the continuity camera for video and a separate bluetooth mic for audio? Tried with an eMeet Bluetooth speakerphone device and had no luck.
I have 2 Apple TV’s. The one in this picture is the version I have in the living room and the latest one I have in my bedroom.
The latest one is still running perfect, however the one in the living room I think has died :(
All of a sudden since the update the living room Apple TV has stopped connecting to my WiFi and will only connect to 2G WiFi?
It’s nothing to do with my internet or my infrastructure because I have a very expensive internet setup and all other devices are perfect.
I have reset the Apple TV to factory settings and still no luck… just wondering if there is anyone else out there with the same issue recently?
Or if I’m the only one..
Hi everyone!
I managed to get a 2017 65 inch Sony Bravia (KD- 65X8500E) for free which wasn't working with hopes that the power board etc could be cheap to get repaired. Got what I think is a good deal (AU$360 for pick up/drop off and repair), and wondering if I should couple it with the Apple TV 2676 (2022, WiFi only) or maybe even one generation older.
Anyone know if I can still get deals on it here in Aus? Amazon has $10 off.
Anyone know if I've made a mistake getting this tv repairs given its age etc? With Apple TV, could I expect it to last me 3-4 years? I doubt the place I got it repaired will give me a warranty considering how cheap they've done it for.
I don't wanna get fire stick etc as I'm fully in the ecosystem (phone, iPad, Mac) and would like to stream stuff from websites rather than apps as all my subscriptions from back home don't work here and to redo all would be too expensive (and I was wondering if it's easy to airplay when you're streaming say a football match or the odd movie?)
The new one has a smaller foot print which kind of breaks the cluster look.

Like the title says, why does Apple TV+ have pages for shows they dont even offer? I saw an Apple TV+ page of a show I wanted to watch so signed up (was offered a trial subscription anyway for my macbook purchase) and then it just says on the page that the show is "Available on discovery+, Prime video, Max". Very misleading!
My Samsung tv will only go into passthrough if I plug the Apple tv straight into the soundbar. But this means I can’t use rgb high or chroma 4:4:4. If I just plug the Apple TV into the tv, then the digital goes to auto and the audio starts cutting out every now and then with atmos.
Anyone know if there’s some kind of fix?
Hey guys,
I have a soundbar, 600 from Bose.
It supports plenty dolby formats and Atmos. So does my Apply TV. but my TV doesn't/
So even if my ATV is sending an Atmos Signal, it goes to the Soundbar via ARC and isn't atmos anymore.
Can I airplay the audio to the Soundbar directly from the Apple TV and get the Dolby formats?
What formats does airplay support?
Currently have an older Sony Bravia. The whole setup is a mess..
Just got a 3rd Gen Apple TV for my Samsung S90C. After reading a few threads, I set the video settings to 4K SDR, turned on both Match Content settings, and enabled QMS. Non-HDR content works great—no black flickers when starting or quitting.
But every time I start or quit HDR content, I keep getting these green and black flickers. I know it’s because of the frame rate switching, but I figured changing the settings would’ve helped. Is there any way to fix this or at least make it less obtrusive? Or is this just something I have to live with?
I don’t mind the black screen pauses when starting or stopping content, but the green flickers are what really bother me.
I also know that my HDMI cable is definitely Ultra High Speed certified if that matters.
was planning to get apple tv last yr ….but rumours saids will release new apple tv…so i waited….but yet….theres no news…..
wondering should i get now ? or wait ?
Has anybody figured out a way for the recently watched to update? I will select the show watch it but it will still be there. I have to mark it as watched.
Raaaage!
So I just got a couple of AppleTV devices. It looks like I have to have an Apple ID to install apps etc.
Is it not permissable to use a proton.me email address? After filling out the account creation form I get "Your account can not be created at this time". Well, why not? Is it a technical issue on Apple's end, the email address, the phone number previously used with a long dead iPhone ten years ago? What the fucking fuck is the fucking problem?
I'd like to put a big screen mounted vertically with multiple RTSP streams, and I've seen lots of reccomendations for AppleTV apps. Will the AppleTV dynamically adjust when transitioned from landscape to portrait?
How much of the legwork does the AppleTV API do when it comes to adjusting content layout of apps to fit different screen size ratios? I.e. will most apps rotate nicely, or is it a per-app thing that the developers had to do intentionally?
I just got a great deal on the 128gb with the e Uber discount, Staples sale, and 20% cashback by using PayPal to pay through Uber Eats. Total cost: $66.42. (I’m in NYC if that affects deals offered)
I splurged and got the fancy Belkin cable too just because thee deal was so good.
I recently just purchased a 65" LG C4 and would like to know what the best setup the tv for the best picture settings and also the best settings on the Apple TV 4K. I also got a Sonos beam gen 2 for audio. Thanks for the help.
Just got my first ever Apple TV! It is for my Hisense Roku TV.
I have everything on regarding CEC stuff. It works great when it is on and I am able to turn this and my sound bar OFF with one click of the remote. However, when I turn it on with the Apple remote, it will turn on the sound bar and the Apple TV, but will NOT turn the TV itself on. Have been messing with settings a lot to no avail.
Any ideas? Would like to not have to use 2 remotes for this tv.
UPDATE: I fixed the issue! In my Hisense settings, I turned "1-touch play" in the CEC settings and that fixed it.
