My Experience with CareerFoundry: Hidden Mentor Call Limits You Should Know

Hey everyone,

I’m sharing this because if you’re considering CareerFoundry, you deserve to know what you’re signing up for. When I enrolled in their UX/UI Design program, I was excited. They highlighted personalized mentorship as a key feature, which sounded like exactly what I needed to make a career shift. The program cost $8k+ and all material is written (maybe 2% video material)

But here’s the problem:

There’s a cap on mentor calls. And not just any cap—10 calls for the entire 9-month program.

I found this out after enrolling. No one mentioned it during registration, and there’s no documentation that explains this limit on their website or registration materials. I reached out to the student advisors to get clarity, and guess what?

They couldn’t show me anything that confirms this policy.

Let that sink in. A program that markets itself around mentorship can’t provide clear information about how much mentorship you actually get.

Why This Feels Wrong

If they had been upfront about it, I could’ve made an informed decision. But instead, I’m now left feeling like i've been ripped off.

For a program that costs thousands of dollars, works out to be about $1000 per call. It’s like signing up for a gym membership and finding out you can only go 10 times before you’re locked out.

Things to Consider Before You Enroll

  • Ask about exact number of mentor calls. Don’t assume you’ll have unlimited or even regular access.
  • Get everything in writing. If something is important to you, make them put it in the documentation.
  • Look beyond the marketing. What they sell you might not match what you get.

Final Thoughts

I’m not saying CareerFoundry is all bad—the course material is decent. But if mentorship is a key factor for you, like it was for me, think twice. Lack of disclosure as critical as mentor access is a red flag.

Has anyone else experienced something like this?

Domain Expansion: Infinite Startup

So recently I got my 2019 Intel Macbook Pro into a bootloop, but it's ONLY on the Mac OS side. I have Windows 10 on a bootcamp partition, and that works fine. If I try to clear the VRAM/PRAM, the ENTIRE COMPUTER (BOTH OS) becomes UNUSABLE. Safe Mode won't work, Internet Recovery gives me either -2003F or -2005F, and the normal recovery tool is inaccessible. The Mac OS side had Sonoma before the loop, and the problem started 10 days ago at the time of posting this, and there is no backup drive. Anyone got any solutions that don't involve data loss? I would like to salvage some photos.

Connecting 27" Cinema Display to Windows 11

I inherited a 27" Apple Cinema Display that has a mini DP cable coming off of it that I am trying to hook up to my Windows 11 PC. Anyone have a similar experience hooking it up, getting it work, drivers to use, etc.?

2008 iMac Boot Camp "Bootable USB could not be found" error

Hi I own a 2008 24" iMac and I just recently wiped the Hard Drive and updated it to El Capitan. I had some issues accessing Boot Camp Assistant and with the help of a video I was able to make some edits in the text file to access its all of its options. I was unable to make a bootable drivers for Windows 10 because it said my USB didn't have enough storage although it was 128GB. I read online that this issue would be fixed if I used a windows 8.1 ISO instead. I did that and it worked. But when I hit install windows 7 or later installations it leaves me on a screan saying the bootable usb could not be found. I tried all the usb ports and no luck. I tried to boot my mac into recovery mode but after I tried to install windows on BCA my keyboard wont work for the computer now. I tried the keyboard on my M1 laptop and it works fine. I'm having a friend come by today to see if i can boot it into recovery mode on a windows based keyboard today.

I can’t get back to original MacOS

Hi! So as the title states I've been trying to get back to my original macOS. I heard about boot camp and since having this macbook I barely ever really use it aside from watching YouTube and drawing. I love windows and fit more for it for games and such. Anyways I heard about boot camp and watched a YouTube tutorial about how to properly install it. I went through the necessary steps as the video guided me just for me to get an error message about my computer not being able to locate disk. In the person's comment section there were two others who had ran into the same problem. One of the commenters had their issue solved by simply restarting the process again after the creator told them to. The other commenter wasn't lucky like myself and was still stuck but after there were no follow ups. It was late at night when I was doing this so I decided to just go back to my original macOS and consider this tutorial a fail. When trying to go back when I thought there would be no issues since I had restarted and did the process again to see if it would work. My computer just shows me a " Macintosh HD " menu for me to enter my password and unlock. I thought ok cool I'll just enter that and we are good. But no every time I enter my password(it's been many times now) it just attempts to boot just to have a second white screen pop up very quickly and then goes back to the menu requesting me to enter my password. It absolutely does not enter my regular login again. I can enter recovery mode and restart like normal but I'm afraid to click anything else in recovery mode. The only things I've tried were trying the Time Machine that didn't work. And opening the disk utility to which I have no clue what to do at all. I have asked for help from the creator of said video but idk what to do.

Any hope getting Windows 10 or 11 to work on Mid 2011 Mac Mini?

Trying to get my Mac Mini to load Windows 10 or 11. There is not a ATI/AMD 6630M driver available. Is all hope lost or is there a workaround? I have tried a couple different drivers that were supposed to still work, but the gpu doesn’t respond after, just stays in the basic Microsoft video, which crashes to the blue screen. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

About a year ago I installed bootcamp on my old 2011 2012 MacBook Pro. My wifi is not working!

When i open the computer up it takes me to the windows or apple software and I choose apple most of the times. I have no need for the windows and im even willing to delete it. But anyways, when I get on to the apple software it says wifi is not connected. So I go to connect it and says that no wifi's are even detected. This only started happening after the bootcamp installation. Is there any way to fix this? I want to use my computer again!

iMac mid 2011 white screen and won't start up

Have an old iMac mid-2011 laying around. When I tried to boot it up on the iMac, it would load, but would get stuck on the white screen. Previously,  before the mac started giving me the white screen, I tried running Windows, but it got me to the blue screen and I gave up on it. I tried to run Windows on the iMac now i end up just blue screen and restarting or repairing multiple times. A while ago i tried to install a High Sierra 10.13.6 on a USB to be able to install it on the iMac it was loading and still ended with WHITE SCREEN. Any hopes of getting it running again?

Unable to read Windows partition error when trying to uninstall

Im trying to uninstall Windows from my Mac but I keep getting the error "Unable to read Windows partition...".

I don't have BitLocker enabled and I can look through the partition's files through finder. It is important to note though that I have previously deleted a bootcamp partition on this computer (through the bootcamp app) in order to make a new one with more space.

Here is the error:

https://preview.redd.it/6jc14pqlbk3e1.png?width=542&format=png&auto=webp&s=f3c516d9a063414486ba98cc16637933c606d5de

And here is the output of diskutil list:

https://preview.redd.it/b3ttflbobk3e1.png?width=974&format=png&auto=webp&s=239329f7711211b770ede24019a6e591fcdef6c0

Apple support told me to completely erase my Mac and reinstall macOS from a Time Machine backup but I feel that there is a better solution out there.

The reason I wish to uninstall windows is because I want to install Linux in its place, so if a factory reset is the only way to delete the partition, would it be safe to just overwrite the bootcamp partition with linux?

Any help is appreciated!

Two broken operating systems

So, I have a 2019 Intel Mac (with a Windows 10 Bootcamp partition) which recently fell into a boot loop. The Mac OS is entirely unusable currently, but the Windows partition CAN work. Recently, however, I accidentally reset the VRAM and now the Windows OS is in a boot loop as well. I have fixed this once before, but I don't exactly remember how I did it. Anybody know what to do?

Also, if it helps, the Mac is currently showing the Apple logo immediately on bootup.

UPDATE: I fixed the Windows partition! I STILL have no clue how I did it.

bootcamp corrupted drive on 2019 MBP?

Hi everyone!

Yesterday i ran into a problem, with booting back to MacOS Sequoia 15.04 from windows 10.

Some background info:

my specs: 512 gb ssd 2019 Macbook Pro with the i7 chip and 16 gb of ram

i gave the bootcamp partition 180 gb, i installed a legit version of windows on it, did no partitioning manually

I and even got MacOS to work right after installing windows. I logged back into my MacOS and everything worked fine. I went back to windows. I donwloaded GTA V and without starting it, tried to boot back to MacOS , but got prompted to the recovery mode, and it said

"this version of macos needs to be reinstalled."

I looked online, trying to find solutions to this problem, but after hopeless hours of searching, i tried what my mac was telling me: reinstalling macos. after 30 minutes of waiting the computer rebooted itself and i was left on a black screen with my username and my pfp but my cursor had a strange blue outline and there was a faint blinking cursor in the top left corner of the screen. I restarted the system , it lead me to the reinstall page again... i installed it again, nothing changed, the same screen.

today I formatted the bootcamp partition in the recovery mode and tried reinstaling, nothing changed.

does anyone know what this could be??

if i put it into target disk mode is there a way to make something like a time machine back up,

ps: i am a music producer and need to get my vst-s to work in the same way as before....

any help would be really really apreciated!!!!!!!!!! thank you

MAC mini window 10 reinstall

I formatted my 2018 Mac Mini that was running both Windows 10 and macOS due to an issue with the graphics card. The system kept showing a black screen whenever I booted into Windows. What is the best way to reinstall Windows 10 without encountering the black screen problem again?

Smaller Win 11 partition?

I have a Mac Mini 2018, 128GB. I’d like to have a small partition for Windows 11 Pro, but it keeps requiring 74GB via Bootcamp. What are my options here? I was hoping to give Windows 11 ~40GB just in case I need Windows. Would a VMware work better?

How to Fix: The startup disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition.

When trying to install Windows 10 on my mid-2011 iMac running MacOS High Sierra, I get the following error:

"The startup disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition.
The startup disk must be formatted as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows."

I have read online that a possible solution to this error is to delete all, but one partition in the disk. However, there is one other partition that I cannot seem to get rid of. When opening disk utility, clicking on my drive, and clicking 'partition' there are 2, the main one, and a separate one that is around 134mb. When selecting that partition, and clicking the minus (-) sign, it doesn't delete, as the minus sign is greyed out.

Does anyone know the solution to either deleting that partition, or any other solution that would allow me to install windows 10 on my Mac?

Thank you in advance!

I’m very confused on how this works.

I saw like 4 youtube tutorials on how to do this, and for some reason, it just doesn’t work. When I hold the option key during startup, there’s a windows option, but when I use it all I get is a black screen. If anybody knows how to handle this It’d be greatly appreciated

PLEASE HELP ME SWITCH BACK TO WINDOWS

I feel like I'm going crazy. This is probably a very simple answer but please help. I installed Windows a while back and switched over, used it for a long time, then switched back to Mac. Now, anytime I open Bootcamp to go back to Windows, it prompts me to pure all of my data on Windows and doesn't allow me to switch back!! I have a lot of important stuff on the Windows version of my computer and I CANNOT purge it. Please help me switch back to retrieve all my data and to use my applications on there. Thank you!!
