BootcampDrivers

Hi, I wanted to ask about BootCampDrivers. Am I the only one who has been getting really hackish 20MB main files when trying to install drivers from BootCampDrivers.com?

I reinstalled my bootcamp disk but I find that only the Windows 11 looks like it’s the actual driver file (~700 mb) while the others don’t (they don’t even have the DDU)

I tried getting Windows 11 driver on my Windows 10 but it isn’t compatible. Please let me know if I can install old valid drivers somewhere else

Trying to install Windows 7 with Bootcamp on iMac 27 inch (Late 2012)

Hi all,

I am trying to install Windows 7 via Bootcamp on my 27 inch iMac from late 2012. I have the 2.9GHz Intel Core i5, 32GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M 512MB, 1TB fusion drive, all running on OS X 10.8.5

When I try to install Windows the drive partition part worked fine and I get all of the way to the Windows EULA acceptance screen. I click next and then get an error that no device driver could be found. I think I narrowed it down to a driver for the hard drive but no matter what version of bootcamp drivers I download, I cannot seem to find one that has that needed driver.

I tried letting macOS download the drivers, I tried downloading different versions from the Internet Archive and coping the files to the flash drive, but none of those had the right driver either apparently. I have not tried Windows 10 because there is a specific program I need Windows 7 for (I honestly wanted Windows XP but don't think I can do that with this model and this machine would not handle a virtual machine of Windows XP well enough to virtualize it).

So is there any chance anyone has ever gotten Windows 7 installed on this model iMac? Or am I fighting a losing battle here? I appreciate any help/ideas/assistance/etc. Thanks in advance!

How to install DirectX12 on Bootcamp Windows 10?

I'm trying to run Veilguard. It looks like a Macbook Pro 2019 should have the right hardware, but the game's specifications says it requires DirectX12. But all the guides I've seen suggest that this is already installed on Windows, and all you need to do is update it with "dxdiag" from the start menu. But I don't get any results for dxdiag. Is this just something Bootcamp can't do, or is there a fix? Any help will be appreciated.

Running Windows Hardware Within Mac Ecosystem

I own a Windows PC and want to buy a Mac. I wanted to know if it was possible to run that windows hardware within a window or program within the Mac.

I imagine that I could use something like Chrome Remote Desktop but wanted to know if there were any other native/3rd-party options.

Help with QHD Monitor on MacBook Running Windows: Resolution Stuck at 640x480 and Black Screen in Games

Hi everyone,

I’m having trouble getting my QHD monitor (2560x1440 at 165Hz) to work properly with my MacBook running Windows (via Boot Camp). Here’s a breakdown of the issues:

Setup:

  • MacBook with Windows installed through Boot Camp
  • Monitor: QHD, supports 2560x1440 at 165Hz, connected via DisplayPort
  • Cable: A DisplayPort cable rated for high resolutions and refresh rates

Problem #1: Resolution Limited to 640x480 at 60Hz

When I connect my MacBook to the monitor, Windows recognizes the monitor but only offers a resolution of 640x480 at 60Hz. Both the monitor and cable support QHD at 165Hz, so I’m not sure why I’m getting this limit. Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  1. Manually changing the resolution in Windows Settings > System > Display, but no other options appear in the dropdown.
  2. Checking the GPU control panel (Intel, AMD, or NVIDIA depending on your setup). I haven’t seen an option for creating a custom resolution there, so I might be missing something.
  3. Considering custom resolution tools like CRU (Custom Resolution Utility) to manually add 2560x1440 at 165Hz, but I wanted to see if there’s a more straightforward solution before diving into that.

Problem #2: Black Screen in Games When Using External Monitor as Primary

I prefer using the external monitor as my main display, but whenever I close the MacBook lid and try to launch a game, the monitor just goes black. I’ve double-checked that the game resolution is set to 2560x1440, but it still doesn’t display properly. Here’s what I’ve looked into:

  1. Power settings: I set Windows to “Do nothing” when the lid is closed, so it shouldn’t be putting the MacBook to sleep. However, this didn’t fix the black screen issue.
  2. Forcing the game to run in Windowed mode: I tried running games in Windowed mode, but even then, the display goes black.
  3. Potential GPU switching issues: Since some MacBooks have both integrated and dedicated graphics, I suspect this might be related to GPU switching, but I’m unsure how to manage that in Boot Camp.

Other Notes:

  • The drivers should be up-to-date (I’ve confirmed this).
  • I’m open to suggestions on adapters, firmware updates for the monitor, or any other fixes that could help get my QHD monitor working correctly.

Has anyone else faced similar issues with QHD monitors or games in Boot Camp? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Windows 10 fan control

Hi all, new here, apologize if I'm out of line in any way.

I'm on a 2019 i9 iMac, Ventura 13.6.6

Playing a couple games thru steam on Windows. CPU cores are spiking to 100 C, generally resting around 85 C

I realize this is relatively normal. My issue is with the fans. They kick on a little late for my taste, and slow down once those spikes are back down into the 85 C region.

I would love to set different temperature triggers for the fans. Or at the very least, I'd like to turn on all fans full blast while I'm gaming. I've tried FanControl and SpeedFan. Neither app recognizes the fans so that I can edit the behavior. I've also tried lowering the max processor state in hardware settings. Temperatures act the same with the CPU throttled. Actually worse when set down in the 60 percent range. I'm assuming there's no BIOS to access to change fan behavior there like you would on a windows machine.

So my question is simple. Is there any way I can edit fan behavior on a BootCamp windows install.

Thanks

All touchpad buttons are mute button

All my touchpad buttons have become mute buttons, I've tried installing and reinstalling all the 'USB Input Devices' under the Human Interface devices (I heard that one of them is supposed to be the touchbar driver) but still no luck. Any help?

Trying to use github Magic Trackpad driver on Windows (NON MAC)

Hi guys, I'm trying to get imbushuo's trackpad drivers working on my PC. Its not a mac using bootcamp, just a standard DIY PC running windows 10.

My Magic Trackpad is model A1339. I connected it to my pc via bluetooth first, then tried installing AmtPtpDevice.inf and rebooting, but the touchpad settings are still not available in windows.

Any tips?

Hardware Speed issues/bsod (somewhat death) 2011 imac

Installed windows 10 (1511) and manually disabled auto updates so it wouldn't bluescreen, installed all bootcamp drivers manually as I installed windows 10 via usb on a 2011 iMac that only supports windows disk boot (uefi bull poop) My issue is it's now randomly bluescreening and restarts (self recovers and runs for a random length of time) Believe windows error was "Driver_irql_not_less_or_equal"... I read up somehwhere it could be the speed of a part of hardware and was wondering...could it be apples ram? Since it's capped at like 1333mhz and usually any other computer would be like double... also I saw somewhere that there was a driver/tool/whatever that "disables" macs frequency lock? Maybe a newer bootcamp driver? Does anyones know/used it and did it work? Also does anyone know why it does this bluescreen? All drivers and hardware but audio work and show 0 issues

Help with installing windows 10 on late 2009 white macbook (MacBook6,1)

Alright guys, I'm stuck trying to install windows 10 on this thing. I edited the info.plist, which allowed me to create the windows 10 Bootable no problem. Even after changing it, I go to install it and it STILL says either windows 7 or 8 only, it won't allow me to install windows 10. What gives?

MacBook won’t turn on after switching between partitions (bootcamp)

After restarting in to macOS (from windows partition) my Mac won’t turn back on. I am stuck in a loop where the Apple logo pops up for a couple of seconds and then turns off alone, and turns back on 10 seconds later, … over and over again. Using command + r doesn’t work, internet recovery kicks me out after it finishes loading (command + option + shift + r), using option gets me to both partitions (macOS and windows) but after clicking on either my mac shuts off and the loop starts all over. (Oh it is a MacBook Air 2018?)

Other things I tried without success were other commands give on the Apple support site such as resetting SMC and PRAM, using command + s, etc.

Command + R got me from the same problem just without seeing the Apple logo to the current situation.

Please help I am currently writing my bachelor thesis and well this isn’t helping with that at all …. Thank you in advance :)

Windows Crashing Whenever I play a game

Hello everyone. I’ve had my 2019 iMac for about 4-5 years now and have been using the windows 10 bootcamp partition for gaming since I got it. Everything has been running fine until about a month or two ago and suddenly whenever I’m playing a game it’ll crash in the middle of it. I tried deleting and reinstalling the partition to see if it’ll be fixed that way but it’s still crashing whenever I play a game. I’m not as tech savvy so I’m not sure what the problem could be.

Macbook Air (11in, mid 2013)

Hey guys. Having a weird issue. On my windows partition it's saying power surge detected at ush port. Nothing plugged in. Ports get power and read data accordingly. Message keeps popping up. When I switch back to my mac partition, it doesn't say any warning about the usb ports. What gives?

I wonder a bit about Bootcamp?

Hi I have heard about how Bootcamp works. I despise using Windows today (because I feel it's slow and annoying to), I own a beat up Unibody MacBook Pro (mid 2012) and I mainly use it for editing, as well been forced to stay on macOS Mojave (due to Catalina break support for 32-bit apps).

I mainly use macOS or Linux and have to have drives formatted as exFAT and need Windows when the main editing drive decide to disconnect (due to a bad cable) and I have to boot up my dogshit slow Acer laptop.

So here is my question: Can I just install Windows 11 with a regular iso (by using Etcher to flash the USB drive) or do I need Rufus? If so is there a version for Rufus on macOS or Linux?

I don't mind Windows 10, don't want to install it due to end of life.

I have no clue how Bootcamp works exactly (so sorry in advance) I have made a NTFS partion (or exFAT, don't remember, can't check at the moment) and just need to get m USB drive (not at my place at the moment).

I would have to use Windows 10/11 like once or twice a month.

I appreciate any help and advice I can get (and sorry for being confusing)

Is this boot acceptable in Army boot camp?

Hello, I am preparing for boot camp and wanted to confirm if the 5.11 Tactical Speed 3.0 Coyote Side-Zip Boot would be approved for use during training. Here is the product link for reference: https://www.511tactical.com/speed-3-coyote-sidezip-boot.html I want to ensure that the style, color, and features meet the required standards before making a purchase. If this model isn’t acceptable, I’d appreciate any recommendations for approved alternatives.

Mac mini 2018 and Windows 11

Hi,

I have successfully installed Tiny11 using the "Windows Install" app - managed to get most drivers working, GPU, BT etc.

However I think I have issues with Thunderbolt 3 - I have two TB enclosures, one hosting my 10G Intel NIC and one eGPU (AMD 6900TX) - Both works fine in OSX and did work fine in Windows 10.

I know Windows 11 comes with OOB support for TB (At least TB4)

Have anyone here successfully used TB3 devices with Windows 11 on a Mac mini 2018 model?

Windows 10 Faster on intel iMac 2020 (27 inch)

Anyone else having similar experiences?

Examples:

- YouTube 4K videos (Firefox) render faster in Windows. I used Firefox cause it gave better results in Mac then Safari in general.

- When having many many tabs open in Firefox, spotify, steam... I experienced no slowdown on W10, but choppiness on MacOS. It seems that W10 is using the RAM and swap better.

I am aware animations are snappier which do help W10 the 'faster' experience, but are for example video drivers better on W10? Is Apple focusing too much on Silicon maybe, which is another factor showing that W10 is doing better (at least in 4k videos rendering). I additionaly also read that other people had experiences with older Mac's (intel) having better performance in Bootcamp.

Guess I use my iMac then mostly with W10 and keep my macbook (intel 2018) running MacOS, since i did notice that battery life / efficiency and thermals are absolutly better than W10 running on my macbook. Best of both worlds i guess!

Share your experiences and thoughts!

ACPI_BIOS_ERROR

Hello,

I have a 2016 Macbook pro 13in with 4 usb-c ports. My goal is to install Windows on it and completely remove macOS because I will not be using it and don't want it taking up space.

I am currently booting it off a flashdrive with the latest windows 10 iso and brigadier drivers for this specific model.

After showing the windows 10 logo for about 15 minutes, it blue screens with an ACPI_BIOS_ERROR.

I have tried resetting the NVRAM, SMC, and PRAM, and nothing changed. I also saw somewhere the suggestion to hold the power button on the blue screen for 10 seconds to completely restart it, but this also didn't do anything. All the other suggestions involve bootcamp, which I'm trying to avoid because I want to remove macOS entirely by overriding the drive with a windows install(not a partition, the whole drive).

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Can't install audio drivers on MacBook 7,1 (Mid-2010) on Windows XP

I'm running Windows XP (SP3, 32-bit) on my mid-2010 polycarbonate MacBook. However, I can't seem to get any audio drivers running. Try as a might, everything I try doesn't work. I'm not looking for bootcamp isos or whatever, I just need a good old exe file. I tried Apple's bootcamp exes and they didn't work. Help?
