I was bored at work so I tried out a fun feature I've seen before on Pro Football Network, "Offseason Manager". It goes through FA then I did their mock draft and combined the 2 to put together a roster for next year, I think it turned out with one we'd be really excited for. Below are the actions, with reasons for some, and the results. FYI for how the thing works, guys will reject offers so I didn't just make up the salaries, though I did start super low on many to see how cheap I could get them.
Step 1 - cuts
Cut Bosa, Pipkins, Edward, Haskins, and some others to create cap space.
Step 2 - Re-sign
Note that the feature for some reason did the AAV as the year 1 cap hit even though it is usually lower. I compensated for that by doing Herbert and James restructures that I don't think we would do yet (11M savings) and some of the accepted deals I think were a little on the low side, so it feels like it balanced out ok.
Dobbins $8m (seems a little high but he wouldn't go lower and I want him back bad)
Poona Ford $5m (This is one like I mentioned that I think will cost more IRL)
Khalil Mack $8M (Another unrealistic low but he accepted my low ball starting point lol)
Perryman $2M
Fulton $3M
Palmer $3M
Heinicke $5M
Smartt $1.2M
Tart $3M
Dye $1.2M
Molden $2.5M
Jefferson $1.5M
Step 3 FA
Note: This is in the order I signed them, which gives a feel for my priority list, also remember these salaries do seem kind of low but typically first year cap hits are lower and this feature doesn't do that so it balances kind of.
OG James Daniels $14M (I went in thinking I'd get Trey Smith but he wasn't there. Luckily Daniels who may be better was surprisingly available!
OC Ryan Kelly $10M (no brainer at that price)
WR Chris Godwin $20m (Higgins and others weren't available so he and Diggs were only true elite X receivers, didn't want to enter into the draft forced to go WR early but I do worry about his injury history and age. Not sure if he's back 100% by week 1 but having Palmer back helps that and I plan to get a WR, TE, or both early in the draft)
EDGE Chase Young $10M (needed edge depth and wanted a first off the bench guy good enough that I wasn't forced into drafting EDGE early)
S Justin Reid $12M (I did not expect to even look at safety except maybe a depth guy but I had so much cap space left and he was there. Would give us best S combo in the league by far and allow us to move James around a ton. I also think Gilman had a sneakily down year so moving him from meh starter to great depth is a plus)
OT Dillard $3M (He's really good depth and I had no backup at OT and only 1 total OL backup)
LB Hicks $5M (He's old but still good and much better vs the pass than Perryman. Allows Perryman to only play early downs and makes our LB room strong and very deep. Also, I had plenty of cap left and he seemed like by far the best use for it)
Step 4 Draft
Going into the draft I saw needs at IDL, TE, RB, and IOL. Below are my picks with reasoning. Disclaimer that I'm a huge LSU fan and that is evident lol.
.
Pick 22 - DT Mason Graham Michigan (No idea how he was available but he was so this was a no-brainer even before the Harbaugh connection)
TRADE (Send Pick 58 to Cleveland for 67 and a 2026 3rd)
Pick 68 - TE Mason Taylor LSU (I think Taylor is a really good receiving TE with speed and athleticism but also the size to develop his blocking - which we have Dissley and Fisk for at the moment anyway)
Pick 86 - OG/OC Garrett Dellinger (He's versatile and has some great traits especially his strength. He needs to get a little quicker but he's pro-ready and would be awesome depth at C and G or even beat out Zion for the starting spot as a rookie)
TRADE (Send pick 124 and a 2026 4th to TB for pick 120)
Pick 120 - EDGE Bradyn Swinson LSU (I noticed him still available and jumped on it. He was great his last year at LSU and I think is underrated because the rest of the defense was ass and he was unknown before his last year. He has size, athleticism, and was productive last year. I can't believe I got him this late!)
Pick 177 - OC Jake Majors Texas (No idea who he is but on their board he was one of the top BPAs and fit a huge need at a position that often gets drafted late and has guys taken day 3 become studs)
Pick 183 - CB Jermari Harris Iowa (No idea who this is and don't really care. He was one of the top ranked BPAs and to me just a placeholder for Horwitz to do be the day 3 CB guru again right here)
Pick 215 - RB Donovan Edwards Michigan (Harbaugh connection and I think this is really good value for him)
Pick 220 RB Travis Etienne UGA (I'm actually lower on him than most but no one else looked appealing and it gives us a Vidal/Edwards/Etienne group competing for carries behind Dobbins)
Pick 253 WR Zachari Franklin Illinois (I didn't recognize hardly anyone left so I just grabbed the top WR. I don't like players who are bad guys but if you aren't like that, maybe Lacy could be a dart throw hoping he doesn't go to jail over the wreck he caused)
Conclusion - Final Roster
I think this roster is really great. Got depth behind Dobbins, added a high level X receiver while keeping Palmer as a WR3, added an explosive rookie pass catching TE, replaced our 2 awful IOL guys with studs and got young depth behind our starters plus a great swing tackle on the outside, added Chase Young and a high upside rookie to the edge rotation losing Bosa, got a steal at IDL in the first and brought back the 2 guys who outperformed expectations, added a really good vet LB and kept the room intact, and made the safety room by far the best in the NFL. The only thing missing is a true shut down CB1 but I'm hoping Still or Hart can become that.

Howdy! So, the title says it all. Why does the Chargers organization not give Philip Rivers the flowers he deserves? I mean, common, he is the best QB we've ever had, and he's hardly (it seems) ever mentioned on socials and they don't sell his merch anymore.
Some background on why I am making this post. I am an old SD Chargers fan, heartbroken when they left and stopped following them ever since. However! This year, I am thinking about getting back into the Bolts. So, I went looking for jerseys since my old ones don't fit me anymore (it has been 9 years after all lol) and they don't sell Rivers jerseys. I can find Gates and LT (all sold out!! reee!) but nothing of Rivers. Matter of fact, there is absolutely nothing offered in the old school SD styles (Gates and LT being the only exceptions, but even those are extremely limited supply). I have gone around the Chargers YouTube channel and Instagram and can't find posts about Rivers. A couple of LT, but that's about it. Even Gates doesn't get a lot of love from the Chargers org, but at least they added him to the Bolts HoF. Rivers seems to have been totally shunned and I don't get it.
So, what gives? Why no love for Rivers in particular by the org? I see fans still talk of him highly, but the organization just seems to have completely forgotten about him. I get not selling classic merch. But common! Rivers was my favorite back in the day! And just look at his stats! He is the best QB this franchise has yet seen! Yet, there is almost nothing of him posted on YouTube and absolutely no merch! Herbert is great and I am definitely a fan of his, so don't take this as me dunking on Herbert, because the man is a beast! I just wish Rivers got so more love, and, preferably, some merch so that I could replace my old stuff and Bolt Up! I just wanna know if there is a reason or am I just being completely unreasonable and holding onto the past?
Give the man his flowers, he earned them.
Sup fellas. Apparently it has leaked in Brazil that the Chargers will host the “São Paulo” Game in 2025.
As a fan from Brazil, I’m in heaven! If anyone here plans to make the trip, I hope we can meet up!
I'm not too keen on CFB, just casually hear news on potential upcoming draft picks. On the WR side, all year I've really only heard of Tetairoa McMillan, Luther Burden III, and Emeka Egbuka as the top potential Rd 1 picks, but lately I've been hearing rumblings of Texas WR Matthew Golden. 6', could use a bit more bulk as he's currently listed at 195 lbs, but strengths seem to be his speed/agility and good hands, although he does seem to have a problem with concentration drops which I know scares us after what we've been through with QJ.
I've been a supporter of 1st Rd TE with Warren/Loveland, but if they're off the board by our pick, how would you guys feel about grabbing Golden with the 22nd pick? Or if he drops, grabbing him with our 2nd round pick or potentially doing the Ladd trade up for him for a second year in a row?
And yes, I am also aware of our IOL struggles/needs but I see them as 2nd-4th round picks this year, depending on how our free agency goes.
I’m honor of Harbaugh’s first year and my first year as a sth. Only slightly embarrassed to admit how much money this cost me
There’s a lot of questions about what and who to target in this upcoming offseason. I’ve seen a lot of mock drafts go without an O-linemen for the first 3 rounds, whereas some don’t go TE in the first 2. Do we think it’s worth passing on Loveland or Warren in the first round to try and pick up someone like Harold fanin? Should we look at free agency to adress the offensive line or look to the draft? What running backs are we all thinking? There’s a lot of unanswered questions so I’m wondering what the people think
This man needs our support Charger Fam! He's a good guy and his streams are some of the best. Regardless of who his NFL team is, Tom Grossi is doing amazing work for charity. Chaotic good! Please consider helping him with his fundraising challenge.

Fans old enough to remember Marty getting fired by Spanos:
Do you feel this was needed to help the team get over any sort of hump?
Without digging more I remember them being a potential contender during his time in SD.
This thought came up for me seeing the Bills continue to fall short in the playoffs and thought there was maybe some similarities in fan feelings towards coaching there.
(Wishing for a Rams/Chargers Superbowl next szn)
I know that this was gonna be the most likely matchup going into the weekend. But, this matchup is just so…disappointing, uninspiring, and not what I want to involve myself in.
I loathe Philly fans (in all sports, not just Eagles fans) and then there’s…the other team…again.
Anyways, I’m only tuning in for the halftime show.
Jerry Maguire delivery who’s coming with me?
This is the first autographed piece of memorabilia that I've ever purchased, now I've got the itch haha. Up next hopefully: LT, Rivers, Herbo.
Hopefully we're on our way back!!
Hey everyone,
I’m trying to track down a song called “San Diego Chargers Anthem” by Suga K. It was a fan-made anthem for the Chargers back when they were in San Diego, and some of the lyrics include: • “76 with a bag of tricks, you better be careful when he’s in the mix” • “Rivers and when he delivers” • “Good we ain’t got Eli Manning” • “Firecracker linebacker, guaranteed to beat ya”
I’ve tried searching YouTube, Spotify, and other platforms but can’t seem to find it anywhere. If anyone remembers this song, has a copy, or knows where I might be able to listen to it, please let me know!
Thanks so much for your help!
