Trump and his surrogates are panicking about the election as turnout in Pennsylvania shows women have been outvoting Men by a higher margin than expected.
This is incredibly good for democrats since the election is now divided through a gender-gap instead of the usual lines of urban/rural and race demographics. It is very likely Kamala performs better amongst all women than she does with latinos.
In the latest USA TODAY/Suffolk University national poll, women decisively backed Democrat Kamala Harris, 53% to 36%. That’s a mirror image of men’s overwhelming support for Republican Donald Trump, 53% to 37%. If those margins hold until Election Day, it would be the biggest disparity since a gender gap emerged more than four decades ago, in 1980.
This is why Trump is already throwing doubts into the election. He banked on low-propensity voters and the fact men have become extremely right-wing. This seems to be backfiring as they are not turning out.
Dems see signs for optimism in gender gap in early vote
Since Joe Biden dropped out, 30% of all newly registered voters in Pennsylvania are 18-29 year old women. It sounds like women may be the ones to save this country, and their rights.
"looking at the racial breakdown of women early voters in PA, we see the biggest increases among women of color, especially Black women whose turnout is 248% of their turnout at this point in 2020, compared to 146% for white women." analysis
So it's not just the fact that women in general are turning out higher, but they're also younger, more racialized, more urban, more educated, but even amongst new older white women, they are more democratic than average. It's an insane showing for Democrats. Explains why suburban-heavy states like Kansas that used to vote Republican have shifted to the left by HUGE margins.
If Dobbs-backlash stopped the 2022 red-wave, we may see an absolute blue tsunami this year.
Too bad young men have been brainwashed by Andrew Tate and other twitch streamers. Twitch has literally caused devastating harm to social cohesion.
Note : While I do think Kamala will win PA, she is not guaranteed to win the election as Nevada, Georgia, and Wisconsins are razor-thin close and numbers are meh for both sides.
Happy (Nearly) Election Day! Our long national nightmare will soon be over temporarily. On Wednesday, there will be no more campaign ads, mailers, or texts, and the only time you'll see Pennsylvania in the national news is during the eventual Supreme Court case or the Steagle Superbowl.
However, before all that, we need to vote! Here is an Election Day guide for the Pennamite:
Nearly all of this information is sourced from the PA Department of State, go there for all your questions about voting. The following is just for the 80% of redditors who are too lazy to click through.
NO. Please do not give your personal information to Panamanian (.pa) websites that send you unsolicited texts from a random phone number. The only trustworthy information about your ballot comes from a .pa.gov web address.
If you want to check the status of your mail-in/absentee ballot or check if someone submitted a ballot on your behalf, go to https://www.pavoterservices.pa.gov/pages/ballottracking.aspx.
It's TUESDAY you jagoff. You're done if you've already voted by mail-in (aka absentee) ballot. Just find your favorite media site and constantly refresh until your anxiety overwhelms you. If you haven't voted by mail, read on.
Yes. The last day to register was October 21st. PA does not have Election Day registration. If you don't know if you're registered, you can check your status here. You should still be registered if you voted in the last two federal elections.
The polls open at 7 AM and close at 8 PM. You can find your polling place here and only cast a regular (or provisional) ballot there.
Only if it's your first time voting at a new polling place. Otherwise, you do not need to bring one (but you should bring one if you can, just in case).
All acceptable forms of identification are listed here. However, they generally include a Pennsylvania driver's license or PennDOT ID card, Commonwealth and US Government IDs, a US Passport, an Armed Forces ID, a Student ID, and an Employee ID.
Contact one of:
No, but it's getting close. You can no longer request a ballot and—unless you're a certain type of overseas voter—ballots must be RECEIVED by 8 PM on November 5th.
BEFORE ELECTION DAY
If you've requested a ballot but have not received it:
If you have your ballot but have not yet mailed it:
ON ELECTION DAY
If you've requested a ballot but have not received it by Election Day:
If you have your ballot on Election Day but have not yet mailed it, DO NOT MAIL IT. Either:
If you are sick or have some other emergency that prevents you from voting in person, you can request an emergency absentee ballot and designate a third party to deliver your ballot. If you already have a mail-in ballot, you don't need to request an emergency ballot, but you still must designate a third party to deliver the mail-in ballot. This third party can only deliver ballots for one household. They must have the form with them when they drop off the ballot and must retain a copy.
If you can't find a designee, call your county election office to have a Sheriff's Deputy or county official collect your ballot and deliver it.
If you are submitting a mail-in ballot for any reason, make sure that it isn't naked. A naked ballot is a ballot that is missing its secrecy envelope. PA requires an outer envelope with the postage and election office information, and an inner envelope to protect the secrecy of the vote. Make sure you read and follow the mail-in instructions exactly before you rush off to the post office or polling place.
Check your ballot's status here. The indicators are:
Call your local election office. PA has no uniform rules for curing your ballot. If your ballot is marked canceled (say because of a missing secrecy envelope or signature), you may vote by provisional ballot at your designated polling place. However, not all counties are marking flawed ballots as canceled.
If your ballot hasn't been received yet, you might be eligible for a provisional ballot. Call your county election office and ask if you can cast a provisional ballot if your mail-in ballot hasn't been received yet.
If you can't cast a provisional ballot or feel like your vote may not be counted, the best thing you can do is help someone (or three others) get to the polls to vote in person.
Sadly, PA is a state where your vote is not counted if you die before election day (25 PS § 3146.8(d)).
On your way, open your phone, where you can search Pennsylvania's election page and FAQ page, or just comment below with your questions. But if you're registered to vote, you can vote.
You can also call the hotlines discussed above: 866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683) or 877-VOTES-PA (877-868-3772).
Probably not for several days. PA is not allowed to start processing mail-in votes until election day (e.g. removing ballots from envelopes), so mail-in vote counting may not even begin in some places until Wednesday. Moreover, PA isn't known as a particularly fast-counting state. Unless there is a landslide, we likely will not know who won PA on election night. If you want exciting election night coverage, move to r/florida or r/Georgia/.
Once have an official winner, we will sticky the thread announcing it (and only that thread) on the subreddit.
Listen you Sly Fox, I know it's hard to wait for Victory in these Desperate Times but we can't rely on Voodo or some Roundabout way to get us there any faster. We've run many Yards along a Winding Path and Tröegs through a lot of shit just to get this far. Now, at the Eleventh Hour, it's time to relax on the Couch, scratch the Brewdog behind the ears, call the Pizza Boy, and crack open a Yuengling. Because soon enough, one side is going to have a Fat Head, the other is going to Weyerbacher, and we'll be doing this all again in Four Seasons.
I'm saying drink.
Until a reputable news source makes an official announcement that is reviewed by a mod, all election winner posts will be deleted.
Until a reputable news source makes an official announcement that is reviewed by a mod with a medical marijuana card, all election winner posts will be deleted.
We will try to limit all election winners to one post per winner. We know you're here for the Eric Settle Wins the Attorney General Race posts, but please don't spam the subreddit.
PA is one of these so-called "swing states," so we're getting inundated with hate, spam, solicitation, and low-quality content. Therefore, the subreddit is now in crowd-control mode, meaning that new users and those with negative karma cannot submit posts or comments without review. These restrictions will last until the election results are announced. Furthermore, we will not allow posts about who's leading or who might win until an official, reputable call is made.
Moved back to PA almost a year ago, registered to vote and completely didn’t realize that one letter in my name is spelled wrong. Can I still vote? What do I do this close to Election Day??
UPDATE: I called my County Elections Office (Allegheny) and explained my situation. They said I would definitely be fine to vote as it’s a minor error and everything else on my ID matches except for that one letter. Hopefully this goes over smoothly on Election Day. Just wanted to update incase anybody else is facing a similar issue!
Gonna be here for a few days, looking for historic/unique/abandoned sites to check out, historic cemeteries, large antique mall suggestions and restaurant suggestions. Thanks in advance. :)
Anyone who lives or knows someone in Mont Co who has already voted, check the list in the link. The ballots with errors can be corrected.
A few weeks ago I received what at a quick look over appeared to be a "mail in ballot" addressed to myself even though I never requested one. After confirming my registration status I ripped it up and threw it away. I was wondering if anyone experienced similar
hey y’all! i’m borrowing a friends’ ez-pass since i don’t own one myself. where do you guys recommend to mount the ez-pass, and how do i mount it? google says that it should’ve came with mounting strips, but since i’m borrowing one, i don’t have the mounting strips.
Hi everyone! I’m new to Pennsylvania and this is my first time experiencing Halloween in Pennsylvania. I’m really excited to see what the local traditions and events are like.
Could you recommend any Halloween events, activities, or places to visit in and around the state ? Any tips for making the most of this spooky season would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
My application got approved 2 weeks ago and my voter ID card hasn’t come yet and I’m not sure it’ll get here in time for the election. I’m an out of state student so I don’t have a PA drivers license or anything that confirms my address (all the bills are under my roommate’s name). Am I able to just use my student ID? Or do I need something to prove that I actually live in PA?

This assumes an even split of the 10% other ballots.
Things are not looking great for the Donald campaign.
I applied for my mail in ballot October 14th and have yet to receive it. I have called the election office now three times. The first time they said it was mailed the 16th, the 2nd time they said it was mailed the 17th and today when I called they said it was mailed the 15th. The website doesn’t say it was mailed at all…are they lying to me?
I also called Harrisburg and they said the only thing I can do is contact the county election office again.
I have also heard of other people in my county who haven’t received their ballots either.
I just want my ballot so I can take it and go vote in person and avoid a provisional ballot. Is there anyone else I can contact? Does anyone else have this issue?

People were star struck, dancing, laughing. It was almost like people forgot that Donald Trump is going to destroy our country if he wins. It was just tone deaf. Get people pumped up, sure, but the vibe was just typical Dem establishment GOTV rally.
Definitely didn't leave there feeling hopeful.
If she loses, then it's events like this that aren't helping.
*Note: I am not making a prediction that she will lose, I am just talking about the vibe. Take it or leave it. Be prepared to fight for your democracy.

I'd love to learn more about him as I make my decision for my downballot races. Does anyone have any information? Thanks!
